  • We suggest Bisection method, Fixed point method and Newton's method for finding the intersection point of a nonparametric surface and a line in $R^3$ and apply ray-tracing in Color Picture Tube or Color Display Tube.

  • 최근 Touch Screen, OLED, Display, 등과 같은 분야에서 투명전도체 재료를 이용한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 투명전도체의 재료 중 가장 대표적인 물질은 ITO(Indium tin oxide)가 있지만 ITO는 제한된 매장량과 가격 상승 등의 이유로 이를 대체하기 위한 재료 개발이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 ITO를 대체할 수 있는 나노섬유전기방사 공정을 통해서 100nm 이하의 직경을 가진 고정횡비 Ni 나노섬유를 만들 수 있다.

  • 디스플레이용 ICP 장비에서 Ar 플라즈마를 사용하여 플라즈마 시뮬레이션을 진행하였다. 안테나 코일의 회전수에 따른 플라즈마 변수들을 비교하였다. 1-turn과 4-turn의 플라즈마 밀도, 온도, 전위차의 공간분포들을 비교한 결과 4-turn이 균일도 측면에서 유리함을 확인 할 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, we studied the electro-optical(EO) performance of photo-aligned twisted nematic(TN)-liquid crystal display(LCD) with oblique non-polarized ultraviolet(UV) light irradiation on polyimide(Pl) surface. We observed that the voltage-transmittance and response time characteristics of photo-aligned TN-LCD is almost same compared to conventional TN-LCD. Also, we observed that the voltage-holding-ratio(VHR) of photo-aligned TN-LCD is almost same compared to conventional TN-LCD.

  • 저온 공정이 가능한 대향타겟식 스퍼터 (Facing Target Sputtering, FTS) 를 이용하여 Flexible display에 적용 가능한 polymer 기판위에 산소 가스 유량비 변화에 따라 ITO를 합성하였다. 산소의 유량이 2.8 sccm 일 때 가시광 영역에서 85%이상의 투과도와 2.26 ${\sim}$ 10$^{-4}$ ${\Omega}$ cm의 가장 낮은 전기적 특성을 나타내었다.

  • 전기변색 (electrochromism) 박막은 전기화학적 산화, 환원 과정을 통해 가역적인 광학 특성의 변화를 갖는 현상을 말하며, 이를 이용한 전기변색 소자(electrochromic device)는 전력 소모가 적고 변색 효율이 크다는 장점으로 인해 Smart window, display, mirror 등에 응용 될 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 대표적인 전기 변색 물질인 WxOy, NixOy 전기 변색 재료의 Sputtering법으로 증착한 박막의 특성에 대하여 평가하였다.

  • FPD 투명 도전막의 제조에 핵심소재로 사용되는 타겟재의 개발동향을 TCO 물질 중에서 현재 가장 널리 사용되고 있는 ITO 타겟 개발의 관점으로 살펴보았다. ITO 투명 도전막은 다른 TCO 물질에 비해 높은 전기 전도도 및 높은 투과율로 인해 지속적인 사용이 예상되며, 이에 대응 가능한 고밀도 및 고효율 ITO 타겟의 개발이 진행 중이다. 또한 ITO 투명도전막의 우수한 특성에 따라 지속적인 인듐 자원의 수요증가와 이에 따른 인듐 자원의 고갈우려로 ITO 타겟을 대체할 수 있는 대체제의 개발이 진행 중에 있다.

  • A new information society of late has arrived by the rapid development of various information & communications technologies. Accordingly, mobile devices which are light and thin, easy and convenient to carry on the market. Also, the requirements for the larger television sets such as fast response speed, low-cost electric power, wider visual angle display are sufficiently satisfied. The currently most widely studied display material, the Organic Light-emitting Diodes(OLEDs) overwhelms the Liquid Crystal Display(LCD), the main occupier of the market. This new material features a response speed of more than a thousand times faster, no need of backlight, a low driving voltage, and no limit of view angle. And the OLEDs has high luminance efficiency and excellent durability and environment resistance, quite different from the inorganic LED light source. The OLEDs with simple device structure and easy produce can be manufactured in various shapes such as a point light source, a linear light source, a surface light source. This will surely dominate the market for the next generation lighting and display device. The new display utilizes not the glass substrate but the plastic one, resulting in the thin and flexible substrate that can be curved and flattened out as needed. In this paper, OLEDs device was produced by changing thickness of Teflon-AF of hole injection material layer. And as for the electrical properties, the four layer device of ITO/TPD/$Alq_3$/BCP/LiF/Al and the five layer device of ITO/Teflon AF/TPD/$Alq_3$/BCP/Lif/Al were studied experimentally.

Fabrication of Hydrophobic Anti-Reflection Coating Film by Using Sol-gel Method (Sol-gel 법을 이용한 내오염 반사방지 코팅막 제조)

  • Anti-reflection coating films have used to increase the transmittance of displays and enhance the efficiency of solar cells. Hydrophobic anti-reflection coating films were fabricated on a glass substrate by sol-gel method. To fabricate an anti-reflection film with a high transmittance, poly ethylene glycol (PEG) was added to tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) solution. The content of PEG was changed from 1 to 4 wt% in order to control the morphology, thickness, and refractive index of the $SiO_2$ thin films. The reflectance and transmittance of both sides of the coated thin film fabricated with PEG 4 wt% solution were 0.3% and 99.4% at 500 nm wavelength. The refractive index and thickness of the thin film were n = 1.29 and d = 105 nm. Fluoro alkyl silane (FAS) was used for hydrophobic treatment on the surface of the anti-reflection thin film. The contact angle was increased from $13.2^{\circ}$ to $113.7^{\circ}$ after hydrophobic treatment.

  • Carbon nanotubes (CNT) emitter has widely become an attractive mechanism that draws growing interests for cold cathode field emission.$^{1,2}$ CNT yarns have demonstrated its potential as excellent field emitters.$^3$ Extensive simulations were carried out in designing a CNT yarn-based cathode assembly. The focal spot size dependence on the anode surface of the geometric parameters such as axial distance of the electrostatic focus lens from the cathode and the applied bias voltages at the cathode, grid mesh and electrostatic focus lens were studied. The detailed computer simulations using Opera 3D electromagnetic software$^4$ had revealed that a remarkable size of focal spot under a focusing lens triode type set-up design was achieved. The result of this optimization simulation would then be applied for the construction of the CNT yarn based micro-focus x-ray tube with its field emission characteristics evaluated.
