We consider a nondifferentiable robust optimization problem, which has a maximum function of continuously differentiable functions and support functions as its objective function, continuously differentiable functions as its constraint functions. We prove optimality conditions for the nondifferentiable robust optimization problem. We formulate a Wolfe type dual problem for the nondifferentiable robust optimization problem and prove duality theorems.

The purpose of this study was to explore the nature of adolescents' relationships with intimate and important people in their lives who are seniors to them. A sample of 1,220 adolescents was surveyed with a questionnaire. The questionnaire included questions on perceived support from non-parental senior figures as well as on adolescents' self-esteem. The results showed that. (a) Adolescents perceived their relatives to be more important than their teachers. (b) Male adolescents perceived support from a larger number of relatives than their female counterparts, whereas female adolescents perceived more support from their close senior figures than their male counterpart. (c) Adolescents' perception of support was different by their father's occupational status. (d) Overall, male adolescents's self-esteem was higher than female adolescents. The adolescents whose fathers held higher-status occupations had higher self-esteem than the adolescents whose fathers held lower-status occupations. (e) Male adolescents' self-esteem was affected by their GPA, father's occupational status, and the number of seniors whom they met on internet, and the amount of perceived support. Female adolescents' self-esteem was affected by father's occupational status and the amount of perceived support.

A contingency model of outsourcing is developed from the information systems (IS) literature and strategic management literature in order to assess the following question: What factors influence change in the extent to which an organization outsources IS functions? Based on the literature, this study identifies four IS factors-gaps in information quality, IS support quality, IS staff quality, and IS cost effectiveness-and three organizational factors-the gap in financial performance, strategic orientation, and the role of information technology in an organization-that influence the change in degree of outsourcing. These factors are hypothesized to influence the change in the extent of an organization's outsourcing of IS functions. From a mail survey of 188 top IS executives in U.S. companies, the results of analysis of covariance and bivariate correlational and multivariate regression analyses provide the following major findings: (a) This study found support for the proposed research model. (b) The change in the degree of IS outsourcing is determined by gaps in information quality, IS support quality, IS cost effectiveness, and financial performance and by the role of IT among IS and organizational factors.

Based on the transfer matrix approach and integral transforms, a solution method is developed for the stress analysis of axisymmetrically loaded transversely isotropic elastic media with generalized interlayer and support conditions. Transfer functions (Green's functions in the transformed domain) are obtained in explicit integral form. For several problems of practical interest with different loading and support conditions, solutions are worked out in detail. For the inversion operation, an efficient technique is introduced to remedy the slow convergence of numerical integrals involving oscillating functions. Several illustrative examples are considered and numerical results are presented.

Most recent programs in and out of the country are related to urban renewal projects. Contemporary project management information systems have been developed was to manage single or multiple projects focusing on their construction phase, and those have limitations to apply to large-scale complicated mega projects. So, this study explain the core concept of decision support modules for iPMIS (Intelligent Program Management Information System) and its major functions to support project owner and participants by introducing ontology in the web environment. This study confined the scope of research to the planning phase of urban environment improvement projects. Ontological logic structure and relation about planning works is essential parts and three functions to implement decision support module are developed.

An algorithm for representing the cubic spline interpolation of differentiable functions by a fuzzy system is presented in this paper. The cubic B-spline functions which form a basis for the interpolation function are used as the fuzzy sets for input fuzzification. The ordinal number of the coefficient cKL in the list of the coefficient cij's as sorted in increasing order, is taken to be the output fuzzy set number in the (k, l) th entry of the fuzzy rule table. Spike functions are used for the output fuzzy sets, with cij's as support boundaries after they are sorted. An algorithm to compute the support boundaries explicitly without solving the matrix equation involved is included, along with a few properties of the fuzzy rule matrix for the designed fuzzy system.

Machine learning methods such as support vector machines and random forests yield nonparametric prediction functions of the form y = $f(x_1,{\ldots},x_p)$. As a sequel to the previous article (Huh and Lee, 2008) for visualizing nonparametric functions, I propose more sensible graphs for visualizing y = $f(x_1,{\ldots},x_p)$ herein which has two clear advantages over the previous simple graphs. New graphs will show a small number of prototype curves of $f(x_1,{\ldots},x_{j-1},x_j,x_{j+1}{\ldots},x_p)$, revealing statistically plausible portion over the interval of $x_j$ which changes with ($x_1,{\ldots},x_{j-1},x_{j+1},{\ldots},x_p$). To complement the visual display, matching importance measures for each of p predictor variables are produced. The proposed graphs and importance measures are validated in simulated settings and demonstrated for an environmental study.

In this paper, the function factors contributing to ITA/EA functions in their organizations, are suggested. Also the reasons to the construction of IT governance system and their effects on the their organizations are discussed and the relationships are verified by empirical model. From the survey, the data of the 227 respondents were collected and regression analysis was performed for validating the research model. ITA/EA functions consist of the IT infrastructure systemization, ITA/EA business process support, IT investment efficiency factors. And the factors of IT resource and performance management, IT process management, IT service management are included to IT governance. The main analysis results described significantly are shows as follows. At first, IT resource and performance management factor is effected by the ITA/EA business process support factor and IT investment efficiency factor. In similarly, IT service management factor is also affected by the factors such as ITA/EA business process support, IT investment efficiency, and IT infrastructure systemization. In additional analysis, IT investment efficiency factor in official sectors, ITA/EA business process support factor in private sectors respectively are described as the significant factors on the IT governance.

최근들어, 서포트 벡터 학습은 패턴 분류, 함수 근사 및 비정상 상태 탐지 등의 분야에서 상당한 관심을 끌고 있다. 여러가지 서포트 벡터 학습 방법들 중 누-버전(nu-versions)으로 불리는 방법들은 서포트 벡터의 개수를 제어해야할 필요가 있는 경우에는 특히 유용한 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는, $\nu-SVR$로 불리는 누-버전 서포트 벡터 학습 방법과 미리 정해진 기저함수를 모두 활용하는 함수 근사 문제를 고려한다. $\varepsilon-SVR$, $\nu-SVR$ 및 세미-파라메트릭 함수 근사 방법론등을 복습한 후에, 본 논문은 정해진 기저함수를 이용할 수 있는 방향으로 기존의 $\nu-SVR$ 방법을 확장하는 방안을 제시한다. 그리고, 제안된 방법의 적용가능성이 예제를 통하여 보여진다.

We find some Hilbert functions of codimension 4, which are obtained from only k-configurations in $\mathbb{P}^{3}$ and support the $3^{rd}$ linear syzygy.
