  • In Korea, a variety of policies for the regional cultural industry development have been carried out: the promotion policy of cultural industry cluster, the establishment of cultural industry support center, and the construction of cultural industry complex and the supporting works for the cultural research center. The cultural industry has a dual character of the manufacturing industry and the service industry. The cultural industry of Gyeongbuk province is mostly centered upon small manufacturing firms with low value-added. Thus, it is desperately in need of the building-up of the enterprise supporting system. However, it is difficult to expect that private business service finns can be activated. In this sense, local and regional governments seek to establish so called 'the cultural contents support center'. However, it is not clear whether the center is an organization for the production of cultural contents or an agency for the support of cultural contents industry. Also it does not prepare any major functional introduction facilities and performing programs. Most of all, it is necessary to establish a proper orientation that 'the cultural contents support center' must be not an organization for the direct production of cultural contents, but an organization supporting cultural industry by way of providing cultural industry enterprises with what is necessary for the production of cultural contents. Also, a system for the establishment of business fitting support policy that can cover the whole sectors of cultural industry must be prepared. Furthermore, a synthetic support system for the cultural business associated industries centered on specified sectors such as films, edutainment, and storytelling must be constructed. Finally an environment for the creation and inducement of cultural industry enterprises, and for the active participation of enterprises and related groups in the promotion planning and in the policies of cultural industry must be built along with on- and off-line networks.

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study is to develop and to evaluate a internet-based social support program for the mothers of congenitally abnormal children. The theoretical basis of the study is the moderating effect model of social support theory (Cobb, 1976). Methods: In first phase, an internet support program was developed according to the practical web development stages proposed by Boling and Frick (2002). In the second phase, the internet support program was provided and evaluated to 18 mothers who reared congenitally abnormal children from March to May 2008. Results: In the first stage, demands of the program were collected from interviews of eighteen mothers of congenitally abnormal children of ages one to three. At the same time, literature review and validity of the contents were also examined. In the second stage, the correspondence of the program contents to the social support needed was also examined. In the third and fourth stages, prototype of the social program was prepared in documents and that of computer program was prepared. In the final stage, an internet-based web site was constructed. The social support provided by the web site were composed of informational support, emotional support and appraisal support including bulletin board system and chatting service. After program development, pre-tests and post-test were performed to investigate the effect of the program on maternal confidence and mood. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon signed rank test. The analysis showed that maternal confidence of post-test was improved than that of pre-test with statistically meaningful figure (Z=-2.54, p<.05). The positive mood of post-test was also improved than that of pre-test and the result was statistically supported (Z=-2.20, p<.05). Conclusion: It is suggestive that the internet based social support programs is accessible and appropriate service to congenitally abnormal children's mother. It is necessary to develop and use the internet based social support programs in public health system.

  • Delivering rich and continuous media contents robustly over a wide range of network conditions of the wired/wireless Internet is a highly challenging task. To address this challenges, the continuous media applications at the edge of network has become more and more adaptive while the best-effort Internet is slowly progressing towards improved networking services. That is, the role of network adaptive media delivery, which dynamically links the quality demand of application contents to the underlying networking services, has become more crucial. In this paper, we will first review the required network adaptation functionalities seen from the application side: congestion control / rate control, error control, and synchronization / adaptive playout. Then, we start the coverage of networking support issues that helps the realization of network adaptive media streaming - from network support and protocol support toward consolidated support via middleware. Finally, we propose a dynamic network adaptation framework that efficiently leverages its awareness of both media application (including contents) and underlying networking support.

The diverse characteristics of target area, educational, social conditions, and supporting organization and delivery systems have been comprehensively considered. Domestic and overseas literature review has been performed to analyze the status of support services for ADHD children to develop the model. The FGI was adapted to identify eligibility and expectations for the qualification of ADHD children and the awareness and expectations of relevant professionals. Based on the theoretical rationale and empirical analysis results derived from these systematic procedures, suitable and appropriate support models were developed for ADHD children as a special educational subjects. The support model includes the development of individualized support programs for the needs of the entire ADHD student population, which require screening and assessment of the entire student population and requiring support for special needs. Support methods were developed in a system that supports family support, educational support, medical assistance, and medical support.

Socioeconomic variables are introduced as independent variables. Emotional, physical, and financial support exchanges are used as dependent variables. Descriptive statistics and multiple analysis of variance are used for the statistical analysis. Findings of this study are as follows: First, the support exchanges between the grown-up children living with parents and elderly parents are significantly varied by the socioeconomic factors. Second, the support exchanges between the children not living with their parents and the elderly parents are significantly varied by the socioeconomic factors. • As the Internet is used extensively, multimedia information becomes more prevailing and accessible. However, legacy decision support systems rarely mention how to put such multimedia contents into practical use for decision making and support. In particular, no proposals have yet been made on how to integrate the decision technologies and multimedia databases in model management systems. Hence, the aim of this paper is to propose a new model management method to integrating decision technologies and an image database management system to create a multimedia decision support. For this purpose, extended ARG and structured modeling techniques are adopted, to represent image contents and mathematical models respectively. A web-based prototype system is presented to illustrate the feasibility and usability of the methodology.
