Korea is facing a surge in the aging population, showing that population aged 65 and above will be accounted for 42.5% of the total population in 2065 with the emphasis on the over-80 population consisting of 19.2%. In response to this abrupt change in population structure, the number of traffic fatality accident referring to older driver as aged 65+ years had been increasing from 605 fatalities in 2011 to 815 fatalities in 2015 resulting in increases in 34.7% in oppose to happening to decreases in 17.2% about non-older driver. With Logit analysis based on Newton-Raphson algorithm utilizing older driver's traffic fatality data for the 2011-2015 years, it was found that the likelihood of an accident resulting in a fatality for super older driver aged 80 years and above considerably increased compared to other older driver with aging classification: 2.24 times for violation of traffic lane, 2.04 times for violation of U-turn, 1.48 times for violation of safety distance, 1.35 times for violation of obstacle of passing; also average annual increase of traffic accident cost related to super older driver was fairly increased rather than other older driver groups. Hence, this study proposes that improving and amending transport safety system and Road Traffic Act for super older driver needs to be urgently in action about license management, safe driving education, etc. when considering the increase of over-80 population in the near future. Also, implementing a social agreement with all ages and social groups to apply with advanced driver assistance system for older driver groups will be able to become a critical factor to enhance safe driving over the face of the country.

For this study, a survey was conducted to find out the satisfaction level with the purchasing and size of ready-made clothes. Among the total of 450 copies of questionnaires, 443 were collected, 400 of which were used in the analysis leaving out the rest imperfect ones. SPSS 11.0 Program was used in data analysis to get the frequency and percentage of each item. As for the preferred styles according to the age, respondents aged 45-49 preferred sweaters and trousers most, while most of middle-aged women preferred blouses and trousers most. As for the preferred styles according to occupations and body figures, most of middle-aged women preferred blouses and trousers most. The findings of this study examining the actual conditions of ready-made clothes purchase and wearing, and size satisfaction among the 40-50's women, who will be at the center of the aging populations in the Super-aged society highlight the need to correct the problems of adherence only to the prices, measures, and aesthetic aspects of fashion trends, to meet the requirements and preferences of ready-made clothes for aging women, and fulfill satisfactory functions according to the body figures in the upcoming Super-aged society.
The purpose of this study is to understand the origin of the super-aged rural community and the meaning of the elderly's life in such a unique society by looking into the elderly's life from the past to the present to the future. For the study in-depth interviews have been done with 16 old people living in Geumdong village, Imshil-gun of Jeonbuk Province, one of the most aged communities of Korea. By analyzing their statements, 4 themes have been found from 11 meanings of statements on the past life, which is characterized by their fight against bonds of extreme poverty and misfortune. On the present life, which is characterized by their bare existence in senility and their endless sacrifice for the children as they are never free from the physical pains accompanying the ageing and the concern about their children, 5 themes have been found from 14 meanings of statements. About the future life, which is characterized by their calm acceptance of the fate of their later life and their village which they think will disappear after they die, 3 themes have been found from 7 meanings of statements.

Purpose: Korea is expected to enter an aged society in 2018 and then a super-aged society in early 2025. The country's aging is progressing faster than any other country in the world. However, the foundation of the elderly friendly industry is weak, and measures at the government level are urgently needed. Especially, housing problems of the elderly are one of the most urgent measures to be taken. Korea does not have the minimum residential area standard for the elderly, and the current general minimum residential area standard is based on the survey of the housing situation without scientific evidence. Therefore, both standards need to be revised as soon as possible based on scientific evidence. Methods: The minimum residential area standard has been calculated following Karl H. E. Kroemer's Min or Max design also being called as-single cut and dual cut theory- as the maximum population value and minimum population value theory of Ernest J. McCormick. Therefore there is a need for a formula made using a few key factors, such as corresponding dimension, practical dimension, clearance, spare dimension, integrated dimension. These elements can be defined and used as formulas to calculate minimum residential area standards. Results: Assuming the results of the spatial variability in this study showed that it is possible to raise the standard of living in a terms of sustainable minimum size for the young, old and all residents. Implications: The government should set a minimum residential area standard with scientific grounds and set up a policy improving the life of people who live in an needy residential environment.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of regional ageing rate to industrial structures of rural areas in Korea. This paper shows that there are cause-effect relations between the industrial specialization and ageing rate in 'Agriculture', 'Finance & Insurance', and 'Real Estate & Leasing' sectors. The ageing levels are classified into ageing society, aged society, and super-aged society according to UN standard that cause different impacts on industrial specialization of regions. This paper finds that the industrial specialization is determined by the ageing levels. If there is an increase in ageing rate by 1% in ageing society, the industrial specialization of the three industries could be strengthened by 0.14%. But, ageing rates have negative impacts on the industrial specialization in aged society and super-aged society by 0.76% and by 1.20%, respectively, as increasing ageing rate by 1%. As the ageing rate progresses, 'Agriculture', 'Finance & Insurance' and 'Real Estate & Leasing'sectors have positive impacts on the industrial specialization in the ageing society. But 'Finance & Insurance' and 'Real Estate & Leasing' sectors have changed into negative impacts on the industrial specialization in the aged society. In the aged society, the employment of elderly persons of 'Agriculture' and 'Finance & Insurance' sectors increase by 1% makes positive impact on the industrial specialization by 1.54%, by 0.45%, respectively. The result of this paper can be applied to a significant guideline at establishing regional employment planning such as elderly customized employment, vocational training for rural areas, where above 14% of ageing rate.

Super aged society, Japan actively uses Information Communication Technology(ICT) as one of solving methods for various social problem. Especially, for Korea where soon will become super aged society, it would be meaningful to examine the current policy trends and utilization of senior support using ICT in Japan. This study explores the policy trends and utilization of senior support using ICT in Japan through literature review, and then proposes some suggestions as follows. Opportunities for practical use of ICT should be widened in the field of senior support, and efforts are needed to build an information linkage network between institutions for senior support because linkage between care sector and medical sector is important for the elderly support. Besides, simplification of paperwork and easing of burden of care providers or workers in the field should be sought by development and dissemination of various robots. Moreover, the spread of technology for emotional support and stability should be actively pursued by using ICT.
This paper analyzed the current status of universal design in the Republic of Korea (Korea) and Japan. In the case of Japan, the aged society or the super aged society has been preparing from 1985 when the aging rate was 10%. Japan's activity to prepare it became promoted during 1990's when per capita Gross National Income (GNI) was $$20,000{\sim}40,000$. In Korea, the preparation for the aging society such as physical environment, barrier free buildings or traffic systems, economic support and investigation or survey is not yet sufficient. Korea must start preparation for an aged society, possibly and quickly. And it needs to prepare until 2026, when the aging rate will be 20%. To prepare a barrier free and an aged society must consider both aging and economic status.
'Healthy Japan 21' is a new health policy that has been proposed for the 21st century: it embodies a totally new concept for its viewpoints and methods. To start with, for its goal, the focus is placed on the 'quality of life' or a life that is free of diseases, rather than mere prolongation of life. For its doctrine, the emphasis has shifted dramatically from improving the health of the entire population(the traditional approach for health improvement) to 'achieving an ideal health status for each individual. The ultimate aged society that arrives first in Japan is a society in its ultimate form for human being. Why did Japan become westernized, giving up her traditional culture? Why did she go through industrialization, sacrificing her nature? And why does she try so hard to industrialize the developing countries? These efforts are all preparation for the arrival of a ultimate aged society. During the 20th century, we believed in unlimited possibilities and expanded our social frontier. In the 21st century, on the other hand, a super-aged society(the ultimate society), a glimpse of which we have witnessed from time to time, will descend on us sooner or later. It is expected to arrive first in Japan. 'Healthy Japan 21' is intended to prepare for the arrival of the hitherto unheard of super-aged society by building the physiological basis of people. This policy is social experimentation on an immense social scale, in which questions are posed on the understanding of health, the relationship between individuals and society, the relationship between administration and citizens, the manner by which central and local governments operate, and the new relationship between prevention and therapy, 'Healthy Japan 21' may be summarized as an experiment on a huge scale directed to the ultimate form of human society, in which Japan and each of her citizens play a role and set an example for the rest of the world. Even just by considering various approaches newly suggested for this venture, one may be convinced that it is a policy with features suitable for a country that has already achieved the world's highest longevity.
