  • Various chemotherapeutic agents have been recommended for pulpotomy of primary teeth, and there are formocresol, ferric sulfate, and calcium hydroxide. Of those, formocresol has fixation effect of pulp tissue and high clinical success rate, so it is most commonly used agent. But formocresol has strong cytotoxic effects, thus many articles reported displacement and loss of permanent successor, amelogenesis imperfecta, mutation by general absorption, possibility of cancer induction. Recently, it has been reported that leakage by imperfect temporary sealing when FC-soaked cotton was inserted into the root canal caused necrosis of surrounding tissues. and that necrosis of alveolar bone related to the use of excessive formocresol. In this case, 2nd primary molar of upper left jaw was treated using formocresol in local clinic, but extracted because of lasting pain. Furthermore, symptoms didn't disappear so patient was refered to us. The patient was 8-year-old male, had foul odor from oral cavity and circular alveolar bone necrosis around the permanent successor' crown. Thus sequestrectomy was operated and observed through 19 months after operation, we found normal root development of permanent successor but no complete regeneration of alveolar bone defect and attached gingiva. Lesion of periodontal tissues by formocresol is irreversible, so we have to confirm the indication in using formocresol and pay attention to complete temporary sealing.

  • Recently, the aging of SME managers has emerged as a major issue in business succession. The smooth succession of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which are the industrial base of Korea, is becoming an important issue for enhancing the vitality of the national economy, such as job creation, beyond mere discussion of inheritance. At this point, this study conducted an empirical analysis on the factors affecting corporate succession intention. As independent variables, corporate Capability consisting of employee competency, marketing competency, and digital competency, human factors such as managers, successors, and third-party stakeholders, and institutional factors such as legislation, taxation, and trust were set. In addition, the effect of adjusting the sales scale was verified. To this end, a survey was conducted targeting representatives who are currently running small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The total number of valid questionnaires was 315. Based on this, an empirical analysis was conducted using the hierarchical regression method. The results of the empirical analysis are as follows. First, marketing competency and digital competency, managerial competency and successor competency, taxation and trust had a significant positive (+) effect on corporate succession intention. However, a significant influence relationship between the third stakeholder, employee competency, and corporate succession intention was not tested. Among the factors that have a significant impact, the size of the influence was in the order of taxation, successor competency, executive competency, trust, marketing competency, and digital competency. Second, the size of sales was found to moderate the relationship between the variables that had a significant effect on corporate succession intention, that is, management competency, successor competency, marketing competency, digital competency, taxation and trust, and corporate succession intention. Based on these research results, academic, practical, and institutional implications for smooth business succession are presented.

  • An infraoccluded tooth is a tooth that has failed to erupt to be in line with adjacent teeth in the vertical plane of occlusion. Multiple complications can occur as a result of an infraoccluded tooth. Tipping of neighboring teeth, loss of space opposing teeth elongation, increased susceptibility to dental caries and abnormal eruption path, impaction and rotation of permanent successor are the consequences of infraocclusion of primary molar. Therefore, early diagnosis and treatment is the key to prevent the complications. Treatment options can be periodic follow-up, temporary restoration or extraction of the infraoccluded tooth depending on the presence of the successor, the extent of infraocclusion and the extent of tilting of the neighboring teeth. The infraoccluded primary molars with permanent successors present tend to exfoliate normally. However, failure to do periodic check up of the infraoccluded teeth may lead to serious complications. In these cases, surgical extractions are often necessary after space regaining and space maintainers should be placed until the eruption of the permanent successors are completed.

  • Jedoguk and Jaesiljaesanjeongriguk were the offices related to the reorganization of the royal finance during the Residency-General period and surveyed royal facilities. Jedoguk surveyed palaces, offices and royal ritual facilities in the manner of traditional survey. However, Jaesiljaesajeongriguk which is the successor office to Jedoguk surveyed royal facilities using the modern surveying techniques and figured out the value of royal facilities. In 1908, most of the royal facilities were nationalized and were managed as government property by Takjibu. These nationalized royal facilities were used new modern facilities under the rule of Japanese.

  • Traditional External Insulation Finishing System(EIFS) is applied to apartment construction by performing structural framework and insulation finishing work sequentially. Separate execution of the three works increases construction cost and duration. Concurrent construction method of EIFS, which performs framework and insulation finishing work simultaneously, is introduced in order to solve these problems. However, the introduced method is exposed to the risk of construction delay caused by bottlenecks due to interacting processes and resources. Therefore, this paper presents a simulation model suitable for estimating work productivity of the concurrent construction by considering predecessor and successor processes to optimize resource allocation and minimize construction delay.

  • This paper considers the genetic algorithms(GAs) for the mixed model assembly line sequencing(MMALS) in which the objective is to minimize the overall line length. To apply the GAs to the MMALS, the representation, selection, genetic sequencing operators, and genetic parameters are studied. Especially, the existing sequencing binary operators such as partially map crossover(PMX), cycle crossover(CX), and order crossover (OX) are modified to be suitable for the MMALS, and a new sequencing binary operator called immediate successor relationship crossover (ISR) is introduced. These binary operators mentioned above and/or unary operators such as swap, insertion, inversion, displacement, and splice are compared to find operators which work well in the MMALS. Experimental results indicate that 1) among the binary operators ISR operator is the best, followed by the modified OX, and the modified PMX, with the modified CX being the worst, 2) among the unary operators inversion operator is the best, followed by displacement, swap, and insertion, with splice being the worst, and 3) in general, the unary operators perform better than the binary operators for the MMALS.

  • Since the launch of the GATT system, one of the most controversial topics in trade liberalization has been the conflict between culture and trade. The sticking point has been the necessity of cultural exceptions in trade rules. Some countries do not wish to allow further exceptions to basic principles even in cultural industry, while many other countries make their efforts to obtain "cultural safety valve." The latter group asserts that it is indispensable for the protection of cultural identity, whereas the former seems to doubt the truth of the assertion. That is because cultural policy measure possibly constitute a means of arbitrary or unjustifiable discrimination between countries, or a disguised barriers to trade in cultural products. Unfortunately, cultural exceptions still remain unresolved in the WTO, the successor to the GATT. This paper is to review the history and rules of multilateral trading system on cultural industry, address the critical issues to deal with in the DDA negotiations, and lastly provide some perspectives on the appropriate shape of the cultural safety valve.
