  • Decentralized iterative learning control methods are presented for a class of large scale interconnected linear dynamic systems, in which iterative learning controller in each subsystem operates on its local subsystem exclusively with no exchange of information between subsystems. Suffcient conditions for convergence of the algorithms are given and numerical examples are illustrated to show the validity of the algorithms. In particular, the algorithms are useful for the systems having large uncertainty of inter-connected terms.

  • This paper describes a requirement analysis for automotive engine design using a computer aided systems engineering tool RDD-100. Because the engine is a complex system with many subsystems, there are many needs of stakeholder throughout the life-cycle of the engine. The originating requirements have been derived from the needs and decomposed into leaf-node requirements with the tool. Many requirement errors have been detected during the decomposition process and resolved by modifying the requirements. Inconsistency problems have been also resolved with the tool, Analysis of engine requirements using RDD-100 brings clarity to engine design early in the development process.

  • Found important components in terms of frequency in the assembly (but not in terms of money). Component 39*** was most important. The failure mode was N69(no light on warning signal the cause of the failure was C15(bad connection). Formed a population for each component. Performed reliability and warranty cost analyses At the component level. At the subsystem level. At the system level. **They don'l trust the warranty cost analysis.** Reliability improvement. Among all the subsystems front \ulcorner subsystem is most vulnerable (among other things due to the large number of components in it), especially components 39*** and 28***.

  • A new tridiagonal Toeplitz linear system (TTLS) solver is proposed. The solver decomposes a strictly diagonally dominant TTLS equation into a number of subsystems using a limit convergent of an analytic solution of a continued fraction. Subsystem equations can be solved employing a modified Gaussian elimination method. The solver fully exploits parallelism. Optimized operational environment for the algorithm is discussed.

  • One solution to the estimation of product reliability during the development phase is to measure reliability improvement over time and compare this improvement to previous product development progress. This paper presents the reliability growth theory and applies it to some subsystems of vehicles during their design, development and prototype testing. The data presented illustrates explicitly the prediction of the reliability growth in the product development cycle. The application of these techniques is a part of the product assurance function that plays an important role in product reliability improvement.

  • This paper describes a new approach for minimizing working memory spaces without loosing too much amount of computing time in the analysis of power system faults. This approach requires the decomposition of alrge power system into several small groups of subsystems, forms individual bus impedance matrics, store them in the auxiliary memory, later assembles them to the original total system by algorithms. And also the approach uses techniques for diagonalizing primitive impedances and expanding the system bus impedance matrices by adding a fault bus. These scheme ensures a remarkable savings of working storage and continous computations of fault currents and voltages with the voried fault locations.

  • We have been recognize the adaptation of JIT(Just-in-Time) production system is necessary to improve the constitution of enterprises. But this system is not settled in our industrial environment owing to misunderstanding of JIT concepts and lack of participation all members of the oranization. This paper deals with systematic application of the JIT subsystems such as U-form layout, flexible workforces with multi- functional skilled workers and adjustment of standard operations procedures. And a successful productivity improvement case study of a small and medium sized industry was dealt.

  • This paper aims to describe the theme of English clause in terms of systemic grammar. For this I analyze the three subaereas of subject theme and the four subareas of nonsubject theme in the form of features. Each of the seven feature sets of the seven thematic subareas is described in the systemic model. Finally All of the subsystems are described in the framework of the system network in order to show the potential of options of thematic English clause available in a certain situation.

  • This paper presents a decentralized model reference adaptive control scheme for an interconnected linear system composed of a number of single-input single-output subsystems in which outgoing interactions pass through the measurement channel and are subjected to bounded external disturbances. The scheme can treat the unknown strength of interactions as well as uncertainties in subsystem dynamics, and allows for the case when the relative degree of each decoulped subsystem does not exceed two.
