  • This study was attempted to find out the effect of major satisfaction and clinical practice satisfaction of nursing college students on job-seeking stress. For this study, from May to June 2021, 152 4th grade students were participated from M University in Jeolla-do Province, using a self-reported questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were used for data analysis. As a result of this study, it was revealed that there was a significant negative correlation between the job-seeking stress of nursing students on major satisfaction(r=-.356, p<.001), but clinical practice satisfaction was not((r=-.018, p=.825). Also, the factors affecting the job-seeking stress of nursing students were age(β=0.285, p<.001), G.P.A.(β=0.250, p=.001) and major satisfaction(β=-0.331, p<.001) with a total explanatory power of 25.3%. As the results of this study, to decrease the job-seeking stress of nursing students, it is necessary to develop and apply programs to increase major satisfaction, and also the programs should be considered the nursing students' ages and G.P.As.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the satisfaction of college students majoring in healthcare-related fields with their major and with their clinical practice on their career decision-making level and to investigate the mediating effect of their satisfaction with clinical practice on the relationship between their satisfaction with their major and their career decision-making level. The subjects were 180 college students who had completed clinical practice as part of their healthcare-related majors at C University in A-gun, B-do Province. Their completed questionnaires were collected between March 2 and March 5, 2020; 165 questionnaires were used for the data analysis. Questionnaires with missing or insincere responses were excluded. According to the results of this study, the students showed a mean of 3.99 points in their satisfaction with their major, 3.33 points in their career decision-making level, and 3.71 points in their satisfaction with clinical practice. Statistically significant positive correlations were found between the students' satisfaction with their major, their career decision-making level, and their satisfaction with clinical practice. In addition, their satisfaction with clinical practice produced a partial mediating effect on the relationship between their satisfaction with their major and their career decision-making level, and those with a higher level of satisfaction with their major and with their clinical practice also presented higher career decision-making levels. Therefore, the present study suggests that healthcare-related students' satisfaction with their major and with clinical practice should be enhanced to increase their career decision-making levels.

  • The Korean language major is being activated in line with the increasing number of international students who are studying in South Korea. Therefore, the motivation for selecting a university major varies according to the background, environment, and values of each student. Thus, it is meaningful to examine the motivation of international students to select their major and their satisfaction on the major. In this study, 173 international students living in Seoul were surveyed and the data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 23.0 to demonstrate the structural relationship between their motivation for selecting the major and their satisfaction about the major. From analysis result, their motivation for selecting a Korean language major were classified into internal and external motivations, and their major satisfaction was classified into perception satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, subject satisfaction, and general satisfaction. Regarding the motivations to select a Korean language major, the level of external motivation was very high, and among the major satisfaction, the level of general satisfaction was the highest. Furthermore, the external and internal motives had significant positive effects on all the categories of major satisfaction, including the perception satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, subject satisfaction, and general satisfaction. This study suggests effective methods to improve the satisfaction of international students about the Korean language major such as the provision of information about and opportunities for employment using their major and the provision of a high quality.

The survey was conducted in self-administered questionnaire. The data was analyzed with SPSS (ver 12.0) and also conducted t-test, ANOVA and multi-regression analysis. Results. It was found that self-efficacy level of students in dental hygiene department was $3.22{\pm}0.38$ point, and their major satisfaction level was $3.27{\pm}0.47$ point. The factors enhancing the self-efficacy of students in dental hygiene department at deciding their careers were identified as the curriculum satisfaction, the relationship satisfaction, and the recognition satisfaction. It was identified that more these elements were increased, the higher the self-efficacy level was enhanced. Conclusions. In order to enhance the self-efficacy of students in dental hygiene department at deciding their careers, it is considered that the curriculum should be organized carefully under reasonable plan, and there should be more active communication between professors and students as well as students each other. This study investigated clinical practice stress, clinical practice satisfaction, academic major satisfaction, and self-esteem among nursing students, and identified factors influencing their nursing professionalism. Methods : The participants of this study were 200 nursing students who used the internet and e-mail, and who understood the purpose and methods of this study. Data were collected from June 21 to July 27, 2021. Data analysis, including the independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression, was performed using SPSS version 26.0. Results : The mean score was 3.52±.47 for nursing professionalism, 2.99±.56 for clinical practice stress, 3.35±.44 for clinical practice satisfaction, 3.75±.55 for academic major satisfaction, and 3.49±.78 for self-esteem. There were no significant differences in nursing professionalism according to general characteristics. Nursing professionalism was positively correlated with clinical practice satisfaction (r=.36, p<.001), academic major satisfaction (r=.57, p<.001), and self-esteem (r=.41, p<.001), but negatively correlated with clinical practice stress (r=-.41, p<.001). Factors influencing nursing professionalism included academic major satisfaction (𝛽=.39, p<.001) and clinical practice stress (𝛽=-.16, p=.021). These variables explained 36 % of variance in nursing professionalism (F=29.43, p<.001). Conclusion : These findings indicate that academic major satisfaction and clinical practice stress could be considered in effective nursing educational interventions to improve nursing professionalism in nursing students. Therefore, multidimensional efforts are needed to establish educational programs for nursing students aiming to enhance their nursing professionalism. In addition, these findings will be helpful for establishing various emotional control programs for the management of clinical practice stress among nursing students.
