Analysis of Secondary Science Teachers' Needs for Education (중등 과학 교사의 교육 요구 분석)

  • The secondary science teachers' professional needs and their preference for training method between off-line and on-line education were investigated. A nation-wide survey was administered to 145 science teachers from 106 secondary schools. The respondents showed high demands on all items. The prominent need was to motivate students learning science. To the contrary. their need for learning more about history and philosophy of science was the lowest. Veteran teachers and high school teachers had higher demands on designing evaluation items, but nonveteran teachers on evaluating the effectiveness of their instruction and updating their scientific knowledge. Teachers preferred the online education as a training method for most items except laboratory activities.

Differences in Ego-Resiliency between Children's Personality Types (MMTIC에 의한 성격유형과 자아탄력성과의 관계)

  • The study was designed to lay the ground for effective guidance toward adaptive coping behavior by finding out differences in ego-resiliency in terms of personality types in the Murphy-Meisgeier Type Indicator for Children(MMTIC). For the study, personality types and ego-resiliency of 180 fifth- and sixth-grade students from 3 elementary schools located in Busan were measured. The instrument for personality types was MMTIC, which was developed by Meisgeier and Murphy in the US in 1990 and standardized in Korea in 1993 by Jungtaek Kim and Hyesook Shim. In order to measure Ego-Resiliency, Block & Kremen(1996)'s Ego-Resiliency scale translated and remodified by Sungkyung Yoo(2004) was used. The collected data were analyzed using ANOVA. The study found the followings: Firstly, according to the children's preference for personality types, participants' ego-resiliency scores appeared significantly higher in 'Extraversion', 'iNtuition', and 'Feeling' than in 'Introversion', 'Sensing', and 'Thinking' respectively. There was no significant difference in the score between in 'Judging' and 'Perceiving'. Secondly, according to function types of MMTIC, the participants' ego-resiliency score in 'iNtuition-Feeling' type showed the highest among scores in the other three types. The score in 'iNtuition-Feeling' type was significantly higher than 'Sensing-Thinking', 'Sensing-Feeling', and 'iNtuition-Thinking' type respectively.

A Study on the Perceived Service Quality According to the Characteristics of Beauty Salons and Customer Demographics (미용실 특성 및 인구 통계적 특성에 따른 미용실 서비스 품질에 대한 인식 차이)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the perceived service quality according to the characteristics of beauty salons and customer demographics. 343 customers were surveyed in the areas of university campuses, central district and residential areas of Cheongju. The questionnaire consisted of the characteristics of beauty salons and customer demographics, and items to evaluate the service quality. Confirmatory factor analysis, t test, ANOVA and descriptive statistical analysis were used to analyze the data. The results were as follows; First, the preference for the number of designer in the beauty salon were differed by sex, age and occupation. Women, college and graduate students preferred the salons with over seven designers. The customers over forty years old used smaller beauty salon. Second, Female perceived higher service quality in all respects such as technique, kindness and convenience of reservation than male did. There were no difference in age groups and occupations. Third, nationally franchised shop which located in downtown with more than 20 designers were highly evaluated in view of service quality.

  • This study introduces coding education using functional game and the effect of game quality on learning achievement. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the difference of game quality on the learner's attitude, learning immersion, education satisfaction and preference for elementary school and junior high school students. In this study, it is meaningful to consider the effect of quality improvement of educational games on learning and we suggest that when designing an educational game, game performance and quality should be considered carefully.

  • Along with developments of information and communication technologies, internet has spread not only all over the society, but also our everyday life deeply. Also requirements for e-learning using internet in the educational aspect have a great influence on the changes of school educations. The benefits of e-learning are many, including cost-effectiveness, enhanced responsiveness to change, consistency, and timely contents. Therefore, the e-learning has been introduced to the universities. However, the e-learning is operated inefficiently because of introduction to the university with no definite idea about effects of education and economy in the university. Therefore, in this paper we analysed the category of e-learning based the curriculum operation forms in the university, surveyed tests about students preference and the studied what is desirable e-learning operation forms.

Effects of the Adolescents' Clothing Styles on Impression Formation (청소년의 의복스타일이 인상형성성 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate 1) the effects of clothing styles on impression formation of middle and high school students and 2) the differences in impression in relation to perceiver variablex(sex, age, residence). The sample consisted of 60 subjects in each of 8 perceiver groups according to sex, age and residence. Stimuli consisted of 10 color photographs of male and female adolescent wearing each of 5 clothing styles respectively. Questionnaires consisted of 43 seven-point semantic differential scales measuring perceivers responses to the stimuli, open-ended Question and perceiver’s clothing style preference. Responses to the semantic differential scale were factor analyzed and 4 factors - Self-confidence/refinement, Sincerity, Intelligence, and Sociability - were emerged to account for the structure of the impression of the male stimuli. Five factors - Sincerity, Refinement, Self-confidence, Sociability, Intellience - were emerged in case of female stimuli. One-way ANOVA results showed that clothing styles had the effects on all the factors of impression except Sincerity. From the reset analyzing the effects of perceiver variables on impressions, age had the effects in all the clothing styles, sex had the effects in 6 clothing styles, and residence in 5 clothing styles. Clothing style 5(male stimuli) and style 10(female stimuli) were the most preferred clothing style in all the subject groups.

A Study on Middle and High School Girls' Tendencies in Selecting Clothes (여자 중$\cdot$고등학교학생의 의복 선호도에 관한 연구)

  • This treatise deals with teen-agers' tendencies in selecting clothes, upon the recent liberalization measures of dress restriction. in regard to girl students' uniforms inmiddle and high schools, effective 1983. Results of my poll of 430 inquirees on the subject is outlined as follows; The surveyees have a preference for wearing box-style upper garments with a round-neck line and ribbon/tie collar. They also prefer to wear shirt cuffs mainly in set-in sleeve style. A straight skirt silhouetting the body line is anticipated to be longer in length than the knee line by 2 or 3 cm's. A dressy or sporty look would be most welcome, too. The ensemble of blue jeans and T-shirt blouse would be usual wear during school attendance. The reason why they like to choose trousers is considered to stem from the unisex look in fashion rather economical and practical purposes. Clothes material tends to be natural fabrics, single-colored and non-patterned. Color needs to be in a subdued mood, tuned with the same color and of neutral tint. In styling, emphasis is to be placed on femininity. In particular, the middle school girls wish to intensify 'Har-mony' in style while the high school misses are concerned with 'Individuality.'

Fashion Brand Attachment and Attitudes Toward Brand Extension (패션 브랜드애착이 확장된 브랜드 태도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of fashion brand attachment on attitudes toward brand extension. Two hundred thirty-four female college students participated in this study. For this study, Bean Pole brand was selected for the example of brand extension through three pre-test. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, multiple regression, and ANOVA were used for this study. As the results, first, brand attachment was classified into three factors such as 'love', 'trust', and 'interest' factors. Second, attitudes toward brand extension were divided into two factors such as similarity of brand extension and purchasing intention. Generally, higher scores on brand attachment was correlated with higher scores on altitudes toward brand extension. Third, results revealed that generally 'love' and 'trust' factors had affected 'attitudes toward brand extension' or 'purchasing intention'. Fourth, among the three groups (heavy/middle/low) of brand attachment, the heavy group showed higher preference of brand extension attitudes. Based on these results, fashion brand marketing strategies would be suggested.

  • This paper aims to provide information to generate a statistical load model of an educational server by analyzing workload of an e-Learning sewer at Dankook University. The result of the analysis shows file size distribution, access frequency and transmission volume for each file type, access interval, changes in preference and clients access rate by networks. In particular, it had different results from previous studies about video file's size distribution and file distribution based on access frequency. This is because the characteristics of e-learning are influenced by using authoring tools for making into video file and by freeing the number of students who register for a course. The result in this paper can be used as a basic data for studies designed to improve e-learning system architecture and server performance.

Rurality and Preferences of Rural Landscapes in Korea - A Comparison of Evaluations by Koreans and Foreigners - (농촌경관의 농촌다움과 선호도 평가 연구 - 내국인과 외국인 평가 비교를 중심으로 -)

  • Twelve selected rural villages were investigated to identify typical Korean rural landscapes. Among many photos taken in those villages, which are believed to represent rural amenities, one hundred photos were selected and again sixty of them were chosen through a questionnaire survey of landscape students. Two hundred domestic subjects and one hundred and one overseas visitors were surveyed to find their evaluations of 'rurality' of the Korean rural landscapes and their 'preferences' of those landscapes. Photo numbers 16, 40, 48, 37, 49, 11, 8, 56, 15 were evaluated most 'rural' and/or 'preferable' by domestic subjects. As the overseas visitors 'mrurality', they were asked to evaluate their 'preferences' only. Photo numbers 60, 7, 38, 28, 59, 15 were the most preferred Korean rural landscapes by them. In summary, Korean public generally preferred rural landscapes with natural beauty and, on the other hand, overseas visitors most preferred historic rural landscapes. Both group preferred least rural landscapes with man made structures.
