Synthesis of Nanoporous Structured SnO2 and its Photocatalytic Ability for Bisphenol A Destruction

  • Nanoporous structured tin dioxide ($SnO_2$) is characterized and its application in the photocatalytic destruction of endocrine, Bisphenol A, is examined. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) reveals irregularly shaped nanopores of size 2.0-4.5 nm. This corresponds to the result of an average nanopore distribution of 4.5 nm, as determined by Barret-Joyner-Halenda (BJH) plot from the isotherm curve. The photoluminescence (PL) curve, corresponding to the recombination between electron and hole, largely decreases in the $TiO_2$/nanoporous $SnO_2$ composite. Finally, a synergy effect between $TiO_2$ and porous $SnO_2$ is exhibited in photocatalysis: the photocatalytic destruction of Bisphenol A is improved by combining the nanoporous structured $SnO_2$ with $TiO_2$, and 75% decomposition of 10.0 ppm of Bisphenol A is achieved after 24 h.

  • Process variation effect on arch-structured gate stacked array (GSTAR) 3-D NAND flash is investigated. In case of arch-structured GSTAR, a shape of the arch channel is depending on an alignment of photo-lithography. Channel width fluctuates according to the channel hole alignment. When a shape of channel exceeds semicircle, channel width becomes longer, increasing drain current. However, electric field concentration on tunnel oxide decreases because less electric flux converges into a larger surface of tunnel oxide. Therefore, program efficiency is dependent on the process variation. Meanwhile, a radius of channel holes near the bottom side become smaller due to an etch slope. It also affects program efficiency as well as channel width. Larger hole radius has an advantage of higher drain current, but causes degradation of program speed.

The Effects of Structured Preoperative Instruction on Anxiety and Self-care Compliance in Patients with Cataract Surgery (구조화된 수술 전 교육이 백내장 수술 환자의 불안과 자가간호 수행에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a structured preoperative instruction upon anxiety and postoperative self-care compliance. Methods: A randomized control group pre-post design was used. Sixty subjects undergoing cataract surgery were randomly assigned to one of two groups. The instruction consisted of cataract surgery procedure, sensory information, deep breathing, use of eye drop, and post op self-care regimen and was provided to the experimental group with control group receiving an usual treatment. State anxiety NRS, pulse, BP, and self-care compliance scale developed by Cho & Rho were used. Data were collected at two time periods: on the day of surgery in the clinic and prior to anesthesia in the operating room. The postoperative self-care compliance scores were measured at their second visits to the hospital after surgery. Data were analyzed using Kolmogorov Smirnov test, t-test, and Mann-Whitney U test. Results: There were significant differences between the two groups in the postoperative state anxiety (t=-3.57, p=.001) and the postoperative self-care compliance score (t=3.92, p<.001). There were no significant difference between the two groups in the postoperative blood pressure and pulse rate. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that the structured preoperative instruction could be a nursing intervention for cataract surgery patients.

An effective approach to generate Wikipedia infobox of movie domain using semi-structured data

  • Wikipedia infoboxes have emerged as an important structured information source on the web. To compose infobox for an article, considerable amount of manual effort is required from an author. Due to this manual involvement, infobox suffers from inconsistency, data heterogeneity, incompleteness, schema drift etc. Prior works attempted to solve those problems by generating infobox automatically based on the corresponding article text. However, there are many articles in Wikipedia that do not have enough text content to generate infobox. In this paper, we present an automated approach to generate infobox for movie domain of Wikipedia by extracting information from several sources of the web instead of relying on article text only. The proposed methodology has been developed using semantic relations of article content and available semi-structured information of the web. It processes the article text through some classification processes to identify the template from the large pool of template list. Finally, it extracts the information for the corresponding template attributes from web and thus generates infobox. Through a comprehensive experimental evaluation the proposed scheme was demonstrated as an effective and efficient approach to generate Wikipedia infobox.

  • We propose the robust nonlinear controller design methodology for the multivariable system which has hard nonlinearities (Coulomb friction, dead-zone, etc) and the structured real parameter uncertainty. The hard nonlinearity can be linearized by the RIDF technique and structured real parameter uncertainty can be modelled as the sense of Peterson-Hollot's quadratic Lyapunov bound. For this system, we apply the robust QLQG/H$_{\infty}$ control and then can obtain four Riccati equations. Because of the system's nonlinearity, however, one Riccati equation contains the nonlinear correction term that is very difficult to solve numerically, In order to treat this problem, using some transformations to Riccati equations, the nonlinear correction term can be eliminated. Then, only two Riccati equations need to design a controller. Finally, the robust nonlinear controller is synthesized via IRIDF techniques. To test this proposed control method, we consider the direct-drive robot manipulator system that has Coulomb frictions and varying inertia.

Development of 3D Scanner Based on Laser Structured-light Image (레이저 구조광 영상기반 3차원 스캐너 개발)

  • This paper addresses the development of 3D data acquisition system (3D scanner) based laser structured-light image. The 3D scanner consists of a stripe laser generator, a conventional camera, and a rotation table. The stripe laser onto an object has distortion according to 3D shape of an object. By analyzing the distortion of the laser stripe in a camera image, the scanner obtains a group of 3D point data of the object. A simple semiconductor stripe laser diode is adopted instead of an expensive LCD projector for complex structured-light pattern. The camera has an optical filter to remove illumination noise and improve the performance of the distance measurement. Experimental results show the 3D data acquisition performance of the scanner with less than 0.2mm measurement error in 2 minutes. It is possible to reconstruct a 3D shape of an object and to reproduce the object by a commercially available 3D printer.

The Effect of Education on Preoperative PCA upon Postoperative Pain (수술 전 통증자가조절기에 관한 교육이 수술 후 통증에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of a structured preoperative PCA education to that of the usual informal teaching provided by hospital staff in alleviating postoperative pain through more effective use of PCA therapy. Method: As an advanced research, the knowledge about the use of PCA therapy and the attitude about the use of the pain medicine were estimated, and then as a later research, the knowledge about the use of PCA therapy, the attitude about the use of the pain medicine, and the score of the pain were estimated. Result: The experimental group those who received structured preoperative PCA education had statistically significant higher knowledge regarding the use of PCA therapy(p=0.026) and more positive attitudes toward using pain medicine(p=0.004). The experimental group those who received structured preoperative PCA education reported better pain control 4(p=0.002), 8(p=0.014) and 24 hours(p=0.018) after the operation. Conclusion: The structured preoperative PCA education increases the knowledge for the use of patient's PCA therapy and changes their attitude toward the use of the pain medicine positively and consequently enable the use of PCA therapy to be more effective and then finally reduced the patient's pain after the operation.

Robustness Bounds of the Vertical Take-Off and Landing Aircraft System with Structured Uncertainties

  • The purpose of this paper is the application of the techniques for the new estimation of robustness for the aircraft systems having structured uncertainties. The basic ideas to analyze the system which is the originally nonlinear is Lyapunov direct theorems. The nonlinear systems have various forms of terms inside the system equations and this investigation is confined in the form of bounded uncertainties. The number of uncertainties will be the degree of freedoms in the calculation of the robust stability regions called the robustness bounds. This proposition adopts the theoretical analysis of the Lyapunov direct methods, that is, the sign properties of the Lyapunov function derivative integrated along finite intervals of time, in place of the original method of the sign properties of the time derivative of the Lyapunov function itself. This is the new sufficient criteria to relax the stability condition and is used to generate techniques for the robust design of control systems with structured perturbations. Using this relaxing stability conditions, in this paper, the quadratic form of Lyapunov function is utilized. In this paper, the practical system of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft is analyzed with the proposed stability criteria based upon the Lyapunov direct method. The application of numerical procedures can prove the improvements in estimations of robustness with structured uncertainties. The applicable aircraft system is assumed to be linear with time-varying with nonlinear bounded perturbations.

  • This paper has been studied a implementation of HTML Filter with structured decks. In wireless environment, conventional HTML Filter converts HTML document to WML by once. However, it is more efficient to access a WEB site by transmitting the minimal capacity of core data in WAP environment. Therefore this Paper suggests new HTML Filter that automatically analyze the contents of HTML WEB and transmits it by selecting the one of many Decks that have the structured architecture. Also the protocol between wireless terminal and WAP Gateway is considered. Finally, We test the proposed HTML Filter with structured Decks for some particular web site.

Production of Lipase-catalyzed Structured Lipid from Olive Oil with Omega-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids

  • Acidolysis of olive oil with omega-3 (n-3) polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) was carried out to produce a structured lipid. Novozym $435^{(R)}$ from Candida antarctica was used as the biocatalyst. Response surface methodology (RSM) was used to determine optimum conditions for lipase-catalyzed enrichment of olive oil. Three factors, 5 levels, central composite design was used. The effects of incubation time, temperature, and substrate mole ratio on incorporation ratio (n-3 fatty acids/total fatty acids, %) were investigated. From the evaluation of response surface graphs, the optimal conditions for incorporation of long chain n-3 PUFAs into olive oil were $40-60^{\circ}C$ for temperature, 30-45 hr for reaction time, and 3:1-5:1 (n-3 fatty acids/olive oil) for substrate mole ratio. Experiments conducted under optimized conditions predicted by the model equation obtained from RSM yielded structured lipids with 50.8% n-3 PUFAs. This value agreed well with that predicted by the model. Oxidative stability tests showed that the product was more susceptible to oxidation than unmodified olive oil. Antioxidant addition improved the oxidative stability of the product.
