The purposes of this paper are to analysis the characteristics of urban structure and to provide the strategies of urban restructuring in Incheon. While old urban center has tended to decline, urban central functions have concentrated towards new suburban centers, outer regions of Incheon. The urbanization of Incheon to outer regions is continuing, together with the population growth. The basic directions of urban restructuring are the formation of network urban structure, the establishment of development designation district, the formation of development, and axises for urban regeneration. It is also suggested that the systematic strategies of urban restructuring need to consider the district development for globalization, the formation of new growth pole and development axises, the establishment of special theme street, and development to network city for global city.
This study is phenomenological qualitative research about lived experience of recovering alcoholic homeless who had completed Therapeutic Community program. The meaning which is revealed through this study is as in the followed. First, Moving to recovering space. In Therapeutic Community, they have a turning point for new life and new connection with people who watch him carefully. Second, Physical recovery. They are no more lying down on the street. Analogy of Standing can be viewed as being most active in recovery. Third, Positioning on time flow. The recovering of time is represented by accepting past and present as well as looking ahead into the future. Fourth, Settling into network of a relation. They tried to reconnect with society by network of a relation. Their social place is located in a network, not a position. From this present study, the social work implications for the alcoholic homeless are deducted.
To precisely and reliably analyze the contents of the satellite imagery, recognizing the clouds which are the obstacle to gathering the useful information is essential. In recent times, deep learning yielded satisfactory results in various tasks, so many studies using deep neural networks have been conducted to improve the performance of cloud detection. However, existing methods for cloud detection have the limitation on increasing the performance due to the adopting the network models for semantic image segmentation without modification. To tackle this problem, we introduced the multi-branch neural architecture search to find optimal network structure for cloud detection. Additionally, the proposed method adopts the soft intersection over union (IoU) as loss function to mitigate the disagreement between the loss function and the evaluation metric and uses the various data augmentation methods. The experiments are conducted using the cloud detection dataset acquired by Arirang-3/3A satellite imagery. The experimental results showed that the proposed network which are searched network architecture using cloud dataset is 4% higher than the existing network model which are searched network structure using urban street scenes with regard to the IoU. Also, the experimental results showed that the soft IoU exhibits the best performance on cloud detection among the various loss functions. When comparing the proposed method with the state-of-the-art (SOTA) models in the field of semantic segmentation, the proposed method showed better performance than the SOTA models with regard to the mean IoU and overall accuracy.
This study aims to examine how residents' perception of Neighborhood in the surrounding area changes to the spatial configuration changes due to co-residential area development in old urban area, and find out the characteristics of the perception changes. The research findings are as follows: First, the results of the spatial configuration changes analyzed by Space Syntax Model show that the integration value is between 0.5 and 0.7, which implies that the development in the old urban area does not contribute to the establishment of hierarchy. When the development takes place with the renewal of streets with consideration of the urban context, however, the integration improves relatively. Second, the actual distance and accessibility due to the street network appear to influence the residents' perception of Neighborhood. After the development, the residents' scope of perception increases on average. Third, the changes in the integration value of the streets after the development appear to influence the residents' scope of perception of Neighborhood. It turns out that there are frequent changes in the residents' scope of perception in the surrounding area around the streets with large increase in integration value, and the perception scope also moves to the center.
One important element of a systematic approach to the management and control of the flow of people over an urban street network is the monitoring and evaluation of system performance. The nature of TSM strategies that, in part, differentiates them from traditional long-range transportation improvement alternatives is that they are less costly, are more quickly implemented and modified, and are often oriented toward sub-area problems which must be addressed at a more microscopic level of analysis. These factors suggest that pre-implementation evaluations of alternative TSM actions will often have to rely on quick-turn around, manual methods of analysis to guide the choice of which management action should be implemented. This paper was prepared to focus on the definition and importance of TSM, specifically associated with monitoring and evaluating traffic performance in the context of TSM startegies. A simple case study of reversible lane technique was presented. The purposes of the case study is to illustrate the methodology of evaluating TSM strategies and demonstrate to identify the benefit from the reversible lane technique, which may otherwise be overlooked in real world. Applying the reversible lane technique to Sam-Il elevate highway, it was found to be a very promising low cost alternative to reduce total travel time(or delay) and fuel consumption.
The purpose of this study is to provide the information about improvement method of the detached housing area for children's outdoor activities. This study was accomplished by two research methods; the evaluation of physical environment of two detached housing areas, and the analyzation of satisfaction & consciousness of 190 residents. Outdoor spaces of detached housing area were divided into 6 areas (play space, education facility, commercial facility, green space, street space, and empty space & parking lot). And then, 6 outdoor spaces were evaluated about the physical characters such as accessibility, network, safety, variety, functional, natural elements. Also, the survey for resident's satisfaction and consciousness was used the Likert scale. According to the result of this study, many parts of the detached housing area were not good for children's outdoor activities, and the resident's satisfaction was low. In the sample detached housing areas, negative factors were car and motorcycle. And many residents pointed out the lack of natural elements, variety, and safety of outdoor space in dwelling area. Finally, this study suggested the several constitution method for the children's activities based on the results of evaluation and survey.
Low-rise Residential neighborhoods of Hongdae area, Garosu-gil, Samchung-dong, Itawon etc. are currently emerging new spaces for cultural consumption in the city. Nonetheless undiscerning excessive commercialization often results in monotonous urban space and deportation of residents and leaders of change; Due to commercialization and popularization recently this phenomenon is influencing surrounding low-rise residential neighborhoods. The main objective of this study is to examine how surrounding low-rise residential neighborhood transforms according to the expansion of culture-commerce spaces. Hongdae area's culture-commerce spaces and its expansion into Yeonnam-dong is investigated in specific. Especially attributes and main causes of transformation in physical and experiential space of neighborhood living facilities and residential buildings, when changed into culture-commerce related use is examined in detail. The expansion of culture-commerce space of Hongdae to Yeonnam-dong area has positive meaning in aspects of everyday experience. First, physical alteration of street-building relation increases direct and indirect contact of people. Contact opportunity carries important meaning in sense that it is prerequisite for next stage contact of network and exchange. Second, culture-commerce related programs provide the third place, where various leisure activities can take place. Attributes of transformation and positive meaning of culture-commerce spaces expanding its territory presents the need of management.

The management of municipal solid waste (MSW) is essential for every community; and, it is currently a major challenge in Nigeria. This paper provides an overview of the current MSW management trends in Nigeria and proposes new sustainable MSW management systems. Across Nigerian cities, MSW management is characterized by inefficient collection and transportation to disposal sites. Collection services do not reach some unplanned areas and slums due to poor street network. Even some planned areas are not reached by collection services. The informal sector contributes to waste collection, resource recovery and recycling; however, their activities are not recognized by the governments. Markets exist for recovered materials but more efforts need to be geared towards intensive recovery of materials and expansion of these markets. Despite the high proportion of putrescible matter in MSW, the only form of treatment commonly used currently is open burning for volume reduction. The high organic fraction presents a great opportunity for composting and anaerobic digestion. Ultimate disposal is currently done in open dumpsites. This needs to be upgraded to engineered landfills that are properly sited and adequately operated by well trained personnel. There is an emerging waste stream of concern, electronic-waste (e-waste), that requires urgent sustainable management as e-waste are currently co-disposed with other waste streams or burnt in the open posing detrimental health impacts.

They are frequently used today in public places such as street, subway, school or library. Since users can sometimes print documents that contain confidential data using Printer Kiosks, the devices should store and manage the documents securely. In this paper, we identify potential security threats in Printer Kiosks and suggest practical attack scenarios that can take place. To show the feasibility of suggested attack, we analyzed network traffic that were generated by the real Printer Kiosk device. As a result of our analysis, we have found that attackers can access other users' scanned files and access other users' documents from Printer Kiosk's home page. We confirmed that using our attack, we could retrieve other users' personal data.
As a portal to rural town, Myeon near large cities is expected to represent image of the rural area. But, the landscape are changing rapidly due to development pressure and to the expansion of the transportation network. For visitors and transit traffic, Recognizing that the characteristics of the streetscape is an important task for the vitalization of the rural district. In particular, it was found that the visual quantity of the central street in the location of the town was closely related to the preference of the streetscape, and the visual quantity of trees and the visual quantity of the building showed an inverse relationship of + and - respectively. Since this is not a simple ratio of the sky to the building, but a relative factor, the possibility of landscape improvement can be improved through management of public facilities or green spaces and maintenance of open spaces or gaps between buildings. It seems that it is necessary to secure separate means for the management of the architectural landscape, such as the establishment of a special landscape plan or establishment of ordinances.
