  • This study addresses the question of how to design the research system for national R&D programs that aim to promote creative innovation. This paper attempts to analyze the case of Creative Research Initiatives(CRI), a new national R&D program recently launched by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Korea. CRI is a strategic program intended to shift the national R&D paradigm from imitative innovation to creative innovation. The key features of the research system of the program include: a research-centered system, long-term research funding, the sunset approach, a dynamic and flexible research organization, and a centralized research system. This paper suggests theoretical rational of these key features based on the literature review on creative innovation. Based on an analysis of the results of implementing the CRI in 1997, this paper also examines how the research system design is reflected and embodied in the program implementation process. Finally, policy implications and future research directions are also discussed.

The high performance-HRM practices were derived from reviewing the literature of SHRM(Strategic Human Resource Management) and investigating some cases of Korean leading hospitals. The result reveals that the high performance-HRM system of medical doctor is significantly related with subject measurement such as financial performance, employees' turnover, and customer(patient) satisfaction. Moreover, it is positively related to objective performance such as hospital's profit growth, yearly patient growth. Based on the result, the academic and practical implications are suggested and then the limitation and further research directions are discussed.

  • Application software is delivered to customers as a form of service at cloud environment. A cloud service provider is a marketplace between supply side (application providers) and demand side (customers). Cloud service providers have to validate applications to be included in their service portfolio. Not only performance, security, networking, compliances should be checked but also business contract, authentication should be provided. Organization customers are more sensitive to these validation criteria and process. We study the Internet2 NET+, which is a successful cloud marketplace of applications for research and education organizations. This case study shows us three things : (i) a cloud marketplace's application management process : selection, validation, transition to service, customization of applications (ii) what a cloud marketplace has for its infrastructure like authentication, security, access control etc. (iii) what a cloud marketplace has as its governance structure. This case study will provide informative analysis of Internet2 NET, a profit-making vertical and buyer's marketplace (education industry). And we will get some strategic implications for planning and implementing cloud marketplaces.

  • The emergence of the cable television era has spawned the introduction of many new television programming formats such as all-news channels, movie channels, channels catering to cultural events, channels for women, and many others. One of the new programming formats that is expected to have interesting implications for marketing is the home shopping channel. As we have observed in other countries, this new form of distribution may potentially have a major impact on the traditional retail industry. This paper presents a model of home shopping channel viewing behavior. This model is then used to formulate optimal product presentation strategies that may aid managers in the design of home shopping programs. Specifically, by formulating a profit-maximization problem based on tile model, we derive the optimal length of product presentations and explore its properperties through simulating various situations. The discussion of these properties provide insights about making strategic decisions regarding product presentations.

  • Eco-design is an environmental key point since consumers' consumption behaviors have huge impacts on the environment. The objective of this study was to investigate the various responses between Chinese and Korean consumers and to look into the effects that consumers' environmental awareness have on eco-design clothing product purchase, usage and disposal. The study comprised of literature review and empirical research conducted through on line survey (www .sojump.com) from 5-20th Jan 2019. 200 Chinese respondents and 200 Korean respondents were collected and structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to test the research hypotheses. The results suggested that consumers' environmental awareness positively influenced their three ecological dimensions about consumption. In addition, the positive relationship was also influenced by respondents' nationality. These results suggest that consumers' environmental awareness is an important responsibilities and could become more important retail mix for clothing marketers. Findings would also enable environmental organizations to understand eco behavior and to design appropriate strategic decisions to appeal eco-summers. Other findings and implications were also discussed.

  • In China, the government has aggressively led the construction and expansion of airports across China. Upon this opportunity, "Korea-China" network is expected to expand. Therefore this study tried to deduce implications for Incheon International Airport by expansion of "Korea-China" traffic rights. As a result of analyzing the exchange values of traffic rights on the "Incheon~Beijing/Chengdu" routes, it was found that there is a concern that Chinese airlines could make inroads into Korean airline's market. In both routes, Korean airline's market share and passenger demand increased while the sales decreased after expanding traffic rights. On the other hand, Chinese airlines showed an increase in sales and a larger passenger growth than Korean airlines. Therefore it is necessary for the government to expand the traffic rights through detailed route value analysis.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to find factors affecting the acceptance intention of autonomous mobility service by applying the unified technology acceptance theory(UTAUT). Methods: The measurement items for each component of this study were modified to meet the purpose of the study by referring to previous studies related to mobility based on UTAUT, which has secured validity and reliability in many studies. The collected data through the online survey were analyzed using hierarchical regression analysis. Results: It was found that performance expectation, effort expectation, social influence, and facilitation conditions for autonomous mobility service had a positive effect on acceptance intention. Also, in this relationship, it was confirmed that driving experience moderated the relationship between performance expectation and acceptance intention, and between effort expectation and acceptance intention. Conclusion: Understanding the public's acceptance of autonomous mobility services, and suggesting strategic implications for the direction of service development to companies that are pushing to enter the autonomous mobility service market.

  • This study empirically examines the synergy effect of a corporate-level loyalty program on customer equity (CE) known as the lifetime value of current and future customers (Blattberg et al. 2009). A corporate-level loyalty program refers to a company-wide integration loyalty program at the corporate-level in which subsidiaries (multi-divisions) participate as program members. It does not merely examine whether there is an integration effect of a corporate-level loyalty program from the CE perspective, but it provides practical implications for a firm's strategic focus by identifying which value creation channels (i.e., acquisition, retention, and cross-selling), brand characteristics (i.e., size of the customer base before integration, diversity of products, and sales channel type), and consumer characteristics (i.e., customer relationship stage, transaction amount before integration, transaction period, and number of purchased brands) are affected the most by the synergy effect.
