According to a generalized nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT), dynamic modeling and free vibrational analysis of nanoporous inhomogeneous nanoplates is presented. The present model incorporates two scale coefficients to examine vibration behavior of nanoplates much accurately. Porosity-dependent material properties of the nanoplate are defined via a modified power-law function. The nanoplate is resting on a viscoelastic substrate and is subjected to hygro-thermal environment and in-plane linearly varying mechanical loads. The governing equations and related classical and non-classical boundary conditions are derived based on Hamilton's principle. These equations are solved for hinged nanoplates via Galerkin's method. Obtained results show the importance of hygro-thermal loading, viscoelastic medium, in-plane bending load, gradient index, nonlocal parameter, strain gradient parameter and porosities on vibrational characteristics of size-dependent FG nanoplates.
This study presents the investigation of wave dispersion characteristics of a magneto-electro-elastic functionally graded (MEE-FG) nanosize beam utilizing nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT). In this theory, a material length scale parameter is propounded to show the influence of strain gradient stress field, and likewise, a nonlocal parameter is nominated to emphasize on the importance of elastic stress field effects. The material properties of heterogeneous nanobeam are supposed to vary smoothly through the thickness direction based on power-law form. Applying Hamilton's principle, the nonlocal governing equations of MEE-FG nanobeam are derived. Furthermore, to derive the wave frequency, phase velocity and escape frequency of MEE-FG nanobeam, an analytical solution is employed. The validation procedure is performed by comparing the results of present model with results exhibited by previous papers. Results are rendered in the framework of an exact parametric study by changing various parameters such as wave number, nonlocal parameter, length scale parameter, gradient index, magnetic potential and electric voltage to show their influence on the wave frequency, phase velocity and escape frequency of MEE-FG nanobeams.
Present investigation deals with the free vibration characteristics of nanoscale-beams resting on elastic Pasternak's foundation based on nonlocal strain-gradient theory and a higher order hyperbolic beam model which captures shear deformation effect without using any shear correction factor. The nanobeam is lying on two-parameters elastic foundation consist of lower spring layers as well as a shear layer. Nonlocal strain gradient theory takes into account two scale parameters for modeling the small size effects of nanostructures more accurately. Hamilton's principal is utilized to derive the governing equations of embedded strain gradient nanobeam and, after that, analytical solutions are provided for simply supported conditions to solve the governing equations. The obtained results are compared with those predicted by the previous articles available in literature. Finally, the impacts of nonlocal parameter, length scale parameter, slenderness ratio, elastic medium, on vibration frequencies of nanosize beams are all evaluated.
We in this paper study nonlinear bending of a functionally graded porous nanobeam subjected to multiple physical load based on the nonlocal strain gradient theory. For more reasonable analysis of nanobeams made of porous functionally graded magneto-thermo-electro-elastic materials (PFGMTEEMs), both constituent materials and the porosity appear gradient distribution in the present expression of effective material properties, which is much more suitable to the actual compared with the conventional expression of effective material properties. Besides the displacement function regarding physical neutral surface is introduced to analyze mechanical behaviors of beams made of FGMs. Then we derive nonlinear governing equations of PFGMTEEMs beams using the principle of Hamilton. To obtain analytical solutions, a two-step perturbation method is developed in nonuniform electric field and magnetic field, and then we use it to solve nonlinear equations. Finally, the analytical solutions are utilized to perform a parametric analysis, where the effect of various physical parameters on static bending deformation of nanobeams are studied in detail, such as the nonlocal parameter, strain gradient parameter, the ratio of nonlocal parameter to strain gradient parameter, porosity volume fraction, material volume fraction index, temperature, initial magnetic potentials and external electric potentials.
The main goal of this article is to develop the finite element formulation based on the nonlocal strain gradient and the refined higher-order deformation theory employing a new function f(z) to investigate the static bending and free vibration of functionally graded porous (FGP) nanobeams. The proposed model considers the simultaneous effects of two parameters: nonlocal and strain gradient coefficients. The nanobeam is made by FGP material that exists in un-even and logarithmic-uneven distribution. The governing equation of the nanobeam is established based on Hamilton's principle. The authors use a 2-node beam element, each node with 8 degrees of freedom (DOFs) approximated by the C1 and C2 continuous Hermit functions to obtain the elemental stiffness matrix and mass matrix. The accuracy of the proposed model is tested by comparison with the results of reputable published works. From here, the influences of the parameters: nonlocal elasticity, strain gradient, porosity, and boundary conditions are studied.
This article focuses on the study of the buckling behavior of two-dimensional functionally graded (2D-FG) nanosize tubes, including porosity, based on the first shear deformation and higher-order theory of the tube. The nano-scale tube is simulated using the nonlocal gradient strain theory, and the general equations and boundary conditions are derived using Hamilton's principle for the Zhang-Fu's tube model (as a higher-order theory) and Timoshenko beam theory. Finally, the derived equations are solved using a numerical method for both simply-supported and clamped boundary conditions. A parametric study is performed to investigate the effects of different parameters, such as axial and radial FG power indices, porosity parameter, and nonlocal gradient strain parameters, on the buckling behavior of the bi-dimensional functionally graded porous tube. In this paper, the forced resonance vibration of porous functionally graded (FG) curved nanobeam is examined. In order to capture the hardening and softening mechanisms of nanostructure, the nonlocal strain gradient theory is employed to build the size-dependent model. Using the Timoshenko beam theory together with the Hamilton principle, the equations of motion for the curved nanobeam are derived. Then, Navier series are used in order to obtain the dynamical deflections of the porous FG curved nanobeam with simply-supported ends. It is found that the resonance position of the nanobeam is very sensitive to the nonlocal and strain gradient parameters, material variation, porosity coefficient, as well as geometrical conditions. The results indicate that the resonance position is postponed by increasing the strain gradient parameter, while the nonlocal parameter has the opposite effect on the results. Furthermore, increasing the opening angle or length-to-thickness ratio will result in resonance position moves to lower-load frequency.
The present paper explores forced vibrational properties of porosity-dependent functionally graded (FG) cylindrical nanoshells exposed to linear-type or triangular-type impulse load via classical shell theory (CST) and nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT). Employing such scale-dependent theory, two scale factors accounting for stiffness softening and hardening effects are incorporated in modeling of the nanoshell. Two sorts of porosity distributions called even and uneven have been taken into account. Governing equations obtained for porous nanoshell have been solved through inverse Laplace transforms technique to derive dynamical deflections. It is shown that transient responses of a nanoshell are affected by the form and position of impulse loading, amount of porosities, porosities dispensation, nonlocal and strain gradient factors.

This paper investigates the vibration characteristics of flexoelectric nanobeams resting on viscoelastic foundation and subjected to magneto-electro-viscoelastic-hygro-thermal (MEVHT) loading. In this regard, the Nonlocal strain gradient elasticity theory (NSGET) is employed. The proposed formulation accommodates the nonlocal stress and strain gradient parameter along with the flexoelectric coefficient to accurately predict the frequencies. Further, with the aid of Hamilton's principle the governing differential equations are derived which are then solved through Galerkin-based approach. The variation of the natural frequency of MEVHT nanobeams under the influence of various parameters such as the nonlocal strain gradient parameter, different field loads, power-law exponent and slenderness ratio are also investigated.
In the present paper, the nonlocal strain gradient refined model is used to study the thermal stability of sandwich nanoplates integrated with piezoelectric layers for the first time. The influence of Kerr elastic foundation is also studied. The present model incorporates two small-scale coefficients to examine the size-dependent thermal stability response. Elastic properties of nanoplate made of functionally graded materials (FGMs) are supposed to vary through the thickness direction and are estimated employing a modified power-law rule in which the porosity with even type of distribution is approximated. The governing differential equations of embedded sandwich piezoelectric porous nanoplates under hygrothermal loading are derived through Hamilton's principle where the Galerkin method is applied to solve the stability problem of the nanoplates with simply-supported edges. It is indicated that the thermal stability characteristics of the porous nanoplates are obviously influenced by the porosity volume fraction and material variation, nonlocal parameter, strain gradient parameter, geometry of the nanoplate, external voltage, temperature and humidity variations, and elastic foundation parameters.
