Leslie Marmon Silko's Storyteller does not belong to a typical category of books, for it looks more like a family album with photographs, poems and Pueblo narratives as well as short stories authored by her. This 'book' without any chapters defies a traditional concept of books we are familiar with. In addition to refusing to be labelled as a conventional book, I argue, Storyteller defies the tradition of Western personal writing in that it shows the collective power of stories. That is, stories have the collective power which is impersonal beyond personal, internalized identity. It does not mean, however, the collective power comes from groups rather than individuals. It is not the conventional opposition of group and individual but that of group and collectiveness that matters here. I draw a distinction between group and collectiveness on the ground that the former actually groups individuals into categories with which individuals identify themselves. It is not group but collectiveness where stories find their power. "Storyteller," the first of eight short stories in the book, tells the story of an unnamed protagonist, a Yupik Eskimo girl, who takes revenge of her parents who died after drinking poisoned alcohol sold by a white storeman. There are four layers of stories in this short story. The first one is the old man's story of a blue glacier bear; the second one is a revenge story of the Yupik girl; the third one is a story told by the girl to the attorney after being arrested for the death of a storeman. And the final one is the story told to us by Silko, entitled "Storyteller." Although the structure of story within story resembles a technique of metafiction at a glance, it surely is a characteristic of Pueblo narratives in general, according to Silko. This kind of stories within stories refers to the collective power of story which, like a spider's web with many little threads radiating from the center and crisscrossing one another, is also a characteristic of stories on the Web today.

Baekje patterned Pyojihwajomoonkeum is a fabric that expresses Baekje's unique culture possessed by Shosoin(正倉院) in Japan. Reflecting the close exchange relationship with the Chinese Southern Dynasties, these patterns are suitable as good examples to grasp the forms and atmosphere that prevailed during that era. Through the analysis of many pieces, it has been identified that the patterns were unique to Baekje. With an aim to ascertain and restore the original form of Pyojihwajomoonkeum, designs were proposed utilizing Pyojihwajomoonkeum as a form of storyteller clothing that fits the modern sense. Fabric was designed by continuously repeating the colors and patterns of Pyojihwajomoonkeum upward, downward, leftward, and rightward and woven with a Jacquard loom. The fabric woven was dried, processed, and used to make a total of four pieces of storyteller clothing consisting of men's wear, comprising a jeogori and pants, and women's wear comprising a jeogori and skirt. The top jacket was long enough that the hip is covered. It has wide sleeves and linear decorations were attached to the collar, lower edge of sleeve, and bottom hem. The pants are wide legged, the top is wide, and the bottom hem had linear decorations attached. What is the most important when using the original form of a traditional culture is processing the raw materials following cultural traditions to create value. Costumes of an era are the combination of individual elements and represent the culture of that era. Therefore, a consideration of the origin and prevailing ideas of the era must be considered. It is anticipated that this paper will serve as a basis for leading such a process, followed by studies on the utilization of the original form of Baekje culture.
Emergence of new media platform had changed relationship between the broadcaster and the viewer, which used to form 'performer-audience' structure. This research has focused on the transition of 'streamer-viewer' role in single-media broadcasting, such as Youtube or Twitch, and identify how they progress group storytelling as a team. Walter Benjam and Leslie Marmon Silko's notion of 'story and storyteller' and Erving Goffman's 'social role theory' was used to define participants' role in new media broadcasting. channel, on Youtube, was selected and analyzed as example case. The domain of 'front stage' was broadened in recorded contents comparing to live streaming. The audience of live streaming is included to the front stage during the expansion. The role of streamer, game participant, and live stream contents viewer is also adjusted during the change, which leads to group-creation of the contents. Streamer plays a role of main-storyteller and suggest identity of the community. Game participants work as sub-storyteller, filling in the blank space in game storytelling and making it sophisticated. They also perform based on community's identity, which streamer has built in advance. Lastly, live steam viewers are intermittent sub-storyteller, which seldom add up the narrative. Though, their main role is to preserve identity of game broadcasting community by reacting according to community's identity. As a result, the game broadcasting narrative is developed by combining and adding up pieces of story made in different level and role of participants. The research redefine the role of viewer and storytelling method in new media, especially in single-person broadcasting. Considering the rapid shift in recent media and contents, a new approach to the streamer-veiwer role and group storytelling of this research can be one of the new method to analyze contents produced in new media, such as Youtube.
This essay explores how Leslie Marmon Silko's Ceremony and Storyteller encourage human's sympathetic relationship with the nonhuman animal-Other, paying attention to her posthumanist voices against anthropocentric mistreatment of animals which is inseparable from white Americans' environmental and racio-ethnic subjugation of nature and Natives in the colonialist history of the United States. As a way of dissolving the problematic anthropocentrism and embracing the animal-Other as a fellow creature, Silko employs and transforms Native American oral tradition in her own idiosyncratic posthumanist storytelling. In order to highlight the ethico-political examination of the animal issue in her storytelling, this essay refers to contemporary posthumanist thinkers such as Jacques Derrida, Giorgio Agamben, and Gilles Deleuze who are all in their own ways critically engaged with Western metaphysical anthropocentrism. Arguably, in a similar vein with the posthumanist critics, Silko disrupts the mischievous hierarchical opposition of humans/animals that have directly or obliquely warranted violence against the animal-Other. In order to demonstrate Silko's ethico-politicality concerning the animal issue, this essay inquires her critical perception of humans' misunderstanding (or misbehavior) toward animals in terms of the suffering and death of animals. Besides, Silko's posthumanist storytelling of the animal's gaze (as Derrida notes as an event of revealing human aporia and vulnerability) and "in-between" (as a reification of crossing the boundary of humans/animals) is discussed with the exemplification of Tayo's encounter with a mountain lion and a bear-man Shush. The posthumanist approach to thinking about the animal-Other in Ceremony and Storyteller would shed light on the ethico-political significances of Silko's storytelling in our time in peril of losing the tie between humans and nonhuman animals.
Interactive intervention of the human presenter is one of the important factors that make the visualization more effective. Rather than just showing the content, the presenter enhances the process of the information delivery by providing the context of visualization. In this paper, we define this as an augmented presentation. In augmented presentation concept, the presenter can facilitate presentation more actively by being fully immersed in the visualization space and reaching and interacting into digital information. In order to concrete the concept, we design presentation space that enables the presenter to be seamlessly immersed in the visualization. Also we increase the presenter's roles as a storyteller, controller and augmenter allowing the presenter to fully support communicative process between the audience and the visualization. Then, we present an augmented presentation system to verify the proposed concept. We rendered 3D visualization through a half-mirror film and a wall projection screen that are place in parallel and applied with stereoscopic images, then, spatially align the presenter inside the virtual visualization space. After that, we conduct a controlled experiment to investigate the subjective level of immersion and engagement of the audience to HoloStation compared to traditional presentation system. Our initial investigation suggests that the newly conceived augmented presentation has potential not only to enhance the information presentation but also to supports the delivery of visualization.

Class, the fundamental unit of school education and the meeting place of teacher and students, plays an important role in study of the subject matter of education. Class criticism is material to the theory or method that helps researchers deeply understand and analyze class phenomena or teachers' actions during a class. In this study, I make a critique on the features of a classic novel class as attempt to expand on new prospects in the field of research on classical literature education. The classic novel class in this class criticism is typical one, which reads the work analytically. Nevertheless, the teacher turns the students' vague repulsion into empathy and helps them appreciate and internalize the work. Students' empathy and response are reflected in the interpreting-centered class because the teacher's insights about the work and experience, knowledge, and method of literature education are projected during the class. Especially, a situation in which the teacher spends a relatively long time narrating the background of the work clearly shows the value and meaning disseminated in a classic novel class. Based on the aforementioned, attempts to collect a variety of cases of a classic novel class and to understand the meaning of these cases have to be part of future research. The research on the attributes of a class such as criticism of classic novels enables us to renew introspection to discover classical literature education.

Research using artificial intelligence to generate captions for an image has been studied extensively. However, these systems are unable to create creative stories that include more than one sentence based on image content. A story is a better way that humans use to foster social cooperation and develop social norms. This paper proposes a framework that can generate a relatively short story to describe based on the context of an image. The main contributions of this paper are (1) An unsupervised framework which uses recurrent neural network structure and encoder-decoder model to construct a short story for an image. (2) A huge English novel dataset, including horror and romantic themes that are manually collected and validated. By investigating the short stories, the proposed model proves that it can generate more creative contents compared to existing intelligent systems which can produce only one concise sentence. Therefore, the framework demonstrated in this work will trigger the research of a more robust AI story writer and encourages the application of the proposed model in helping story writer find a new idea.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the space of upper class housing in Andong through the oral life history of women in terms of sexual life. Even though the living was centered on women, the women of Joseon were alienated from the history. For this reason, the life history of head family housing was not recorded in the language of women, and often passed on orally. Also sexual life is a important part in daily life, but it is hard to be recorded or mentioned in Confucian society, and there is not much space research related to sexual life. Now there is not a lot of head family housing left, and the number of people who can tell the life history which is not recorded and the storyteller is also decreasing. From now on, I will record what I have experienced or passed through interviews of the residents living in head family housing and then analyze the characteristics of the sexual life.
Holocaust fiction has always raised the moral and aesthetic questions about the nature of mimesis and the literary representation of atrocity. The Holocaust, defying any representation of it, has been considered as unspeakable, unknowable, and incomprehensible. This essay aims to explore Martin Amis's narrative strategies in Time's Arrow to conduct the difficult tasks of re-creating the primal scene and of discovering a moral reality behind the Holocaust. One of the major narrative experiments in Time's Arrow is the time reversal: the story moves from the present of phony innocence to the past of unrelieved horror. Reversing the temporal order of events reverses causality and generates the revision of the morality, ultimately creating the epistemological and ontological uncertainties. Amis's novel is also narrated from the perspective of a double persona of the protagonist who, as a Nazi doctor, participated in the massacre in Auschwitz and then fled to the United States following the war. As almost a self-conscious storyteller, the narrator shares a sense of retrospective guilt with the reader who finally realizes that the Holocaust was a world turned upside down morally. Amis's postmodern narrative strategies are unusual enough to warrant a new way of representing the Holocaust.
