  • In this study, the physical and mechanical properties of steel fiber reinforced lightweight polymer concrete were investigated experimentally with various steel fiber contents. All tests were performed at room temperature, and stress-strain curve and load-deflection curve were plotted up to failure. The unit weight of steel fiber reinforced lightweight polymer concrete was in the range of $1,020{\sim}1,160\;kg/m^3$, which was approximately $50\%$ of that of the ordinary polymer concrete, The compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, flexural toughness and flexural load-deflection curves after maximum load were shown with increase of steel fiber content. The stress-strain curves of steel fiber reinforced lightweight polymer concrete were bilinear in nature with a small transition zone, Based on these results, steel fiber reinforced lightweight polymer concrete can be widely applied to the polymer composite products.

  • This paper describes an experimental study on the strength and flexural toughness of steel fiber reinforced concrete using fly ash. The fly ash contents were varied from 0% to 20% of cement weight to explore the effect of fly ash addition with steel fiber reinforced concrete. as the result, the tensile strength, flexural strength and flexural toughness were increased remarkably as steel fiber contents were increased to 2.0 vol.%. Also, the steel fiber reinforced concrete containing 10% fly ash developed the highest strength. In the same contents of steel fiber, the flexural toughness characteristics show excellent when fly ash contents were 10% and steel fiber contents were 1.5 vol%.

  • Recently, the research on steel fiber reinforced concrete has been actively conducted to compensate the defect of brittle fracture of concrete and to enhance toughness. Therefore, the effect of the mixture rate of straight steel fiber on flexural behavior of high strength steel fiber reinforced concrete was evaluated in this research. As a result, when 2% of steel fiber was mixed with concrete volume ratio, it showed the best flexural capacity.

  • In this work, an experimental research has been performed on Steel Fiber-Steel Reinforced Concrete (SFSRC)specimens subjected to four-point bending tests to evaluate the feasibility of mutual replacement of steel fibers and conventional reinforcement through studying failure modes, load-deflection curves, stiffness of characteristic points, stiffness degradation curves and damage analysis. The variables considered in this experiment included steel fiber volume percentage with and without conventional reinforcements (stirrups or steel fibers) with shear span depth ratios of S/D=2.5 and 3.5. Experimental results revealed that increasing the volume percentage of steel fiber decreased the creation and propagation of shear and bond cracks, just like shortening the stirrups spacing. Higher crack resistance and suturing ability of steel fiber can improve the stability of its bearing capacity. Both steel fibers and stirrups improved the stiffness and damage resistance of specimens where stirrups played an essential role and therefore, the influence of steel fibers was greatly weakened. Increasing S/D ratio also weakened the effect of steel fibers. An equation was derived to calculate the bending stiffness of SFSRC specimens, which was used to determine mid span deflection; the accuracy of the proposed equation was proved by comparing predicted and experimental results.

  • In this study, unsaturated polyester resin, artificial lightweight coarse aggregate, artificial lightweight fine aggregate, heavy calcium carbonate and steel fiber were used to produce a steel fiber-reinforced lightweight polymer concrete with which mechanical properties were examined. Results of this experimental study showed that the flexural strength of unnotched steel fiber-reinforced lightweight polymer concrete increased from 8.61 to 13.96 MPa when mixing ratio of fiber content increased from 0 to 1.5%. Stress intensity factors($K_{IC}$) increased with increasing fiber content ratio while it did not increase with increasing notch ratio. Energy release rate ($G_{IC}$) turned out to depend upon the notch size, and it increased with increasing steel fiber content.

  • In this paper, concrete material tests were carried out to investigate influence of steel fiber volumn ratios on variations of workability and strength characteristics of steel fiber reinforced high-strength concrete, $50MPa{\sim}90MPa$ of compressive strength, according to increase of fiber volume. Test specimens were arranged with six levels of concrete compressive strength and fiber volumn ratios, 0.0%, 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0%. The test results showed that steel fiber reinforced high-strength concrete($70MPa{\sim}90MPa$, 1.5% fiber volumn ratio) with good workability of slump 20cm could be used practically and effects of steel fiber reinforcement in improvement of concrete strength and toughness characteristics such as splitting tensile strength, flexural strength, and diagonal tensioned shear strength, were more distinguished in high-strength concrete than general strength concrete. And the test results indicated that splitting tensile strength of fiber reinforced concrete was proportioned to the product of steel fiber volumn ratios, $V_f(%)$ and sqare root of compressive strength, $\sqrt{f_{ck}}$, and the increasing rate was in contrast with that of flexural strength, and increase of diagonal tensioned shear strength was remarkable at steel fiber volumn ratio, 0.5%.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the enhancement of shear capacity according to steel fiber contents in RC short columns. Lateral force resistance test was performed with the parameters of steel fiber contents in concrete volume. From the test results, shear and ductility capacity was improved with steel fiber contents Increased. In addition, an optimal steel fiber content was evaluated as a 1.5 % of concrete volume.

  • Crack behavior of steel fiber concrete(SFC) and reinforced steel fiber concrete(RSFC) specimens has been experimentally and analytical investigated. Clack behavior of RSFC beams influenced by longitudinal reinforcement ratio, volume and type of steel fiber, strenth of concrete. It can be observed from experimental result that addition of steel fiber to concrete specimen reduce crack width and increases stiffness, and thus enhances the behavior in serviceability limit states also high cyclic loading
