The purpose of this study is to define the relationships among awareness about the necessity of disaster preparedness education, the actual educational status, preparedness knowledge, and the certainty of knowledge among nurses. The study participants comprised a total of 125 nurses with over 3 months of clinical experience in general hospitals with more than 100 beds in a metropolitan city. Data were collected in January 2016 and analyzed by descriptive statistics, a t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficients. The results showed meaningful correlations between the existence of educational programs in hospitals and disaster preparedness abilities (r=.29, p=.001). There were also meaningful correlations between educational experience within a year and disaster preparedness abilities (r=.33, p<.001). There was a negative relationship between disaster preparedness abilities and knowledge (r=-.27, p=.003) and a positive relationship with confidence about the correctness of knowledge(r=.23, p=.003). Based on the results, an educational program in a clinical setting is needed to improve the degree of confidence about the correctness of knowledge and ultimately to enhance disaster preparedness abilities.

Korean medical libraries have made interlibrary loan active under the korean medical library association since 1969, the sharing acquisition of journals has not been peformed efficiently in the absence of a bibliographic control institute. The medical library of seoul national medical university which is designated to a medical professional information center by korea education academy information developed MEDLIS linking the union catalog and interlibrary loan system and has been operating it in cooperation with the korean medical library association. Two types of questionaries were sent to 350 medical researchers and 160 medical librarians to investigate the realities of domestic and foreign medical information institutes, develop sharing systems and find a solution for sharing systems. Also, some analyses for the recent state of duplicate subscriptions, interlibrary loan, demands for system operations un the basis of the statistics of MEDLIS users were made. The result showed that medical researchers and medical librarians are affirmative for MEDLIS, users need a convenient interlibrary loan system and medical librarians agree to activate interlibrary loan. It also showed that sharing acquisition of journals seemed to be realizable for medical librarians, although there was no intention to improve the centralization of interlibrary loan among them. From the findings, a plan for sharing acquisition of journals established by the sharing acquisition committee under korea medical libraries society and national 8 local centers to play a key role in it was made. Also, a proposal for the establishment of an information center for controlling korean medical bibliographies was suggested. This system will be expected to contribute to make users to acquire materials more effectively and save the national budget.
The purpose of this study is to compare the physical health, anxiety and depression of the Dan-Jeon Breathing trained group with those of a non-trained group and to analyze the relationship between the training period of Dan-Jeon Breathing method and physical health, anxiety, and depression. The number of people in the Dan-Jeon Breathing trained group over 3 months was 149 and in the non-trained group 142. Data were collected from August to October 1999. As tools, 35 physical symptom questions were chosen from The Cornell Medical Index modified by Nam(1965) and from the Symptom Checklist-90-Revision(SCL-90-R) by Kim(1984); 10 questions on anxiety and 13 questions on depression were used in the study. The statistics of the study were gathered by using SPSS Window; the analysis was made by applying $X^2$-test, t-test, Pearson correlation, ANOVA and Scheffe tests. The results were as follows. 1. The Dan-Jeon Breathing trained group had lower physical symptom score and showed less anxiety and depression than the non-trained group, which supported the 1st, 2nd, 3rd hypotheses. 2. The longer the training period of Dan-Jeon Breathing, the lower the physical symptom score, which supports the 4th hypothesis, but the 5th and, 6th hypotheses were not supported because anxiety and depression did not get lower as the training period of Dan-Jeon Breathing got longer. 3. The physical symptom score, anxiety and depression that were made by the general characteristics of Dan-Jeon Breathing trained group were analyzed. As a result, the physical symptom score of women was greater than that of men. Physical symptoms score and the rate of anxiety and depression were different by education levels. The degree of anxiety was different by age. Those who have a religion have a higher physical symtoms score than people who have no religion. There was no difference in physical health score, anxiety and depression according to marital status, economic status and occupations. The results suggest that the physical and mental health status of Dan-Jeon Breathing trained group is better than that of the non-trained group. Physical symptoms scores gets lower as the training period of Dan-Jeon Breathing gets longer which results in the improvement of physical health status.

The purpose of this study was to identify relationships between the awareness of well-dying, advance directives knowledge and attitude, according to patient's terminal care experience among nursing students. Participants were 321 nursing students, selected from 3 universities located in Gyeonggi-do, Chungcheong-do, Jeolla-do and data were collected using self-reported questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 25.0 program, with descriptive statistics x2-test, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe' test, Pearson's correlation coefficient. There was a significant difference in advance directives attitude among nursing students with experience of patient's terminal care or no experience of patient's terminal care (t=3.011, p<.003). In addition, the awareness of well-dying (r=.194, p=.008) and advance directives knowledge (r=.201, p=.006) were positively correlated with advance directives attitude in nursing students with experience of patient's terminal care, whereas advance directives attitude was positively correlated with the awareness of well-dying (r=.189, p=.029) in nursing students with no experience of patient's terminal care. This study suggests that there is a need for the development of systematic education programs to improve a positive attitude toward advance directives and awareness of well-dying of nursing college students.

Objectives: To identify the importance of preventing tuberculosis for HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) infectees and to monitor their management of health, we investigated the proportion of HIV-TB (Tuberculosis) deaths among the HIV deaths and its related factors. Methods: Data for HIV deaths from 2002 to 2010 was acquired from Statistics Korea, after which the HIV deaths were reclassified into HIV-TB deaths or other deaths according to the KCD (Korean Classification of Diseases). We analyzed the proportion of HIV-TB deaths among HIV disease deaths and the relationship between HIV-TB deaths and related variables such as sex, age, educational level, marital status, etc. Results: There were 774 HIV deaths in South Korea between 2002 and 2010. TB was the main cause of death in 10.1% of all HIV deaths. The total proportion of HIV-TB deaths was 10.1% but its proportion reached 16.3% between 2005-2007 and then decreased to 4% in 2010. Also, the proportion of HIV-TB deaths was significantly high in the young age groups, but its proportion was significantly low in married groups and well educated groups (p<0.05). Conclusions: The result implies that the policy that takes care of HIV infectee regarding TB prevention has been getting systemized on a national scale. Also, HIV-TB deaths have been affected by social factors such as education and marriage status.

Association rule of data mining techniques is the method to quantify the relevance between a set of items in a big database, andhas been applied in various fields like manufacturing industry, shopping mall, healthcare, insurance, and education. Philosophers of science have proposed interestingness measures for various kinds of patterns, analyzed their theoretical properties, evaluated them empirically, and suggested strategies to select appropriate measures for particular domains and requirements. Such interestingness measures are divided into objective, subjective, and semantic measures. Objective measures are based on data used in the discovery process and are typically motivated by statistical considerations. Subjective measures take into account not only the data but also the knowledge and interests of users who examine the pattern, while semantic measures additionally take into account utility and actionability. In a very different context, researchers have devoted a lot of attention to measures of confirmation or evidential support. The focus in this paper was on asymmetric confirmation measures, and we compared confirmation measures with basic association thresholds using some simulation data. As the result, we could distinguish the direction of association rule by confirmation measures, and interpret degree of association operationally by them. Futhermore, the result showed that the measure by Rips and that by Kemeny and Oppenheim were better than other confirmation measures.
The purpose of this study was to examine the preferences to yacht tourism and perceptions to importance of yacht tourism industry's activation strategies from consumers perspectives. In order to such a purpose, this study employed survey methodology with a total of 300 visitors to yacht facility and beach located in B metropolitan city. With 265 usable questionnaires, data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Accordingly, following findings were derived from current study. First, 32% of participants had yacht tourism experiences and more than 64% of them had willing to purchase yacht tourism products in the future, which indicates optimistic increases in yacht tourism demand. In addition, amount of willingness to pay for yacht tourism was less than 100 thousand Won per day. Second, the most preferred product was a yacht training and experience program, and preferred time for yacht tourism was weekend and or vacation with the period of one day or one night and two days. The main motivation was to spend leisure time and enjoyment with accompanying persons of family or friend members. Third, consumers' restriction factors included high expenditures, time consuming and lack of various yacht tourism products but their selection attributes included low expenditures, associated tourism products and quality of yacht tourism products. Finally, the most important activation strategies included the development of yacht tourism products, building yacht tourism conditions and establishing marketing strategies, but the least important activation strategies from consumers views included policies, experts and facilities.
This paper is concerned with an important aspect of regional income convergence, ${\beta}$-convergence, which refers to the negative relationship between initial income levels and income growth rates of regions over a period of time. The common research framework on ${\beta}$-convergence which is based on OLS regression models has two drawbacks. First, it ignores spatially autocorrelated residuals. Second, it does not provide any way of exploring spatial heterogeneity across regions in terms of ${\beta}$-convergence. Given that empirical studies on ${\beta}$-convergence need to be edified by spatial data analysis, this paper aims to: (1) provide a critical review of empirical studies on ${\beta}$-convergence from a spatial perspective; (2) investigate spatio-temporal income dynamics across the U.S. labor market areas for the last 30 years (1969-1999) by fitting spatial regression models and applying bivariate ESDA techniques. The major findings are as follows. First, the hypothesis of ${\beta}$-convergence was only partially evidenced, and the trend substantively varied across sub-periods. Second, a SAR model indicated that ${\beta}$-coefficient for the entire period was not significant at the 99% confidence level, which may lead to a conclusion that there is no statistical evidence of regional income convergence in the US over the last three decades. Third, the results from bivariate ESDA techniques and a GWR model report that there was a substantive level of spatial heterogeneity in the catch-up process, and suggested possible spatial regimes. It was also observed that the sub-periods showed a substantial level of spatio-temporal heterogeneity in ${\beta}$-convergence: the catch-up scenario in a spatial sense was least pronounced during the 1980s.
The purpose of this study was to examine whether senior simulation would bring any positive change to the attitude of dental hygiene students toward the elderly. The experimental group consisted of 58 dental hygiene students at a college. The experimental procedure was to do activities for 40 minutes wearing aging simulation suit. Self administered questionnaires were used to ask the attitude toward the elderly after senior simulation. The data were analyzed with SPSS program. General and aging related characteristics of subjects were analyzed through descriptive statistics. To testify the differences of the attitude after senior simulation, paired t-test was used. An experiment was conducted from May 27 to June 14, 2012, and the findings of the study were as follows: 1. There wasn't any perfect positive change in the overall attitude of the students toward elderly people after senior simulation, but their attitude got a little more positive whereas they took a neutral attitude in the past; 2. The students who had ever lived with elderly people under the same roof and who had ever received education related to the elderly underwent a more positive change in their attitude toward the elderly; 3. To what extent senior simulation was helpful for the understanding of the elderly was checked, and the majority replied that it was very useful or useful for the understanding of their physical aspects. The findings of the study confirmed that senior simulation didn't change the overall attitude of the students toward the elderly in a positive way yet brought about some positive changes in part. Therefore senior simulation is expected to be one of significant educational programs that could encourage students to have a better physical understanding of the elderly, to take a more positive attitude to them and to provide them with quality dental service.
The purpose of this study is to explore effective factors of elderly people's overall death anxiety and sub-dimensions of death anxiety. The subjects were 156 elderly people in S City, Gyeonggi-Do gathered by convenience sampling. This study collected data by interviewing the elderly who agreed to participate in the study and then analyzed it using SPSS 12.0 through descriptive statistics, the t-test, F-test, Sheffe-test, correlation analysis, and multiple regression. The respondents' overall death anxiety score was 2.61(±.47), and 'anxiety in the dying process'(2.94) had the highest points among sub-dimensions. Effective factors of overall level of death anxiety among the elderly were 'age' (β=-.18, p=.015), 'education' (β=-.16, p=.045), and 'economic status' (β=-.26, p=.003). In sub-dimensions, the elderly who were female, relatively young, and had low economic status showed high 'anxiety in the dying process'. As for 'anxiety over what will happen after one's death', the elderly who were relatively young, and had low economic status had high scores. Finally, on 'the loss of existence', the elderly who had poor relationships with their families had high scores.
