Current communication networks consist of channels with various throughputs, protocols, and packet loss rates. Moreover, there are also diverse user multimedia consumption devices having different capabilities and screen sizes. Thus, a practical necessity of scalability on video coding have been gradually increasing. Recently, The Scalable High Efficiency Video Coding(SHVC) standard is developed by Joint Collaborative Team on Video Coding(JCT-VC) organized in cooperation with MPEG of ISO/IEC and VCEG of ITU-T. This paper introduces coding tools of SHVC including adopted and unadopted tools discussed in the process of the SHVC standardization. Furthermore, the individual tool and combined tool set are evaluated in terms of coding efficiency relative to a single layer coding structure. This analysis would be useful for developing a fast SHVC encoder as well as researching on a new scalable coding tool.

Defining and measuring non-rigid or flexible parts has been controversial in industry for many years. There are two primary areas of controversy. The first is agreeing on what exactly a non-rigid part is. The second is agreeing on how to define and measure a non-rigid part. The subject of non-rigid parts is further complicated by the brief coverage it receives in the national and international standards. This leaves each company to improvise or create its own rules for non-rigid parts. There are some who believe that Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) should not be used on non-rigid parts. This is not true. The ASME Y14.5M standard applies to rigid parts as a default condition. However, there is no definition given for a rigid part. The term rigid part has been used in industry for so long that it has gained a definition by its general use. When most people in industry say rigid part, they are referring to a part doesn't move (deform or flex) when a force (including gravity) is applied. How much force is relative based on the part characteristics. In reality, all parts will deform (or flex) if enough force is applied. Using this logic, all parts would be considered non-rigid. However, we all know that this is not how parts are treated in industry. Although GD&T defaults to rigid parts, it should also be used on non-rigid parts with a few special techniques. Actually 50~60% of all products designed contain parts or features on parts that are non-rigid. Therefore, we try to suggest the definitions of rigid and non-rigid parts and method to measure non-rigid parts.

In order to evaluate the effect of shear wave velocity of a seismic control point on site response analysis, one-dimensional equivalent linear site response analysis were performed on the model soil profile based on the results of a detailed site investigation of sedimentary layers at Incheon and Busan. The results of the analysis show that an increase of shear wave velocity on the seismic control point (base rock) results in an increase of acceleration in the soil layers. This was mainly due to an unclear definition of the seismic control point. For this reason, the Korean Seismic Design Standard requires a specific definition of the seismic control point, including spatial conditions and soil properties, similar to the MCE (Maximum Considered Earthquake) in FEMA 369.

In this paper, we propose high-performance H.264/AVC CAVLC encoder for UD video real time processing. Statistical values are obtained in one cycle through the parallel arithmetic and logical operations, using non-zero bit stream which represents zero coefficient or non-zero coefficient. To encode codeword per one cycle, we remove recursive operation in level encoding through parallel comparison for coefficient and escape value. In oder to implement high-speed circuit, proposed CAVLC encoder is designed in two-stage {statical scan, codeword encoding} pipeline. Reducing the encoding table, the arithmetic unit is used to encode non-coefficient and to calculate the codeword. The proposed architecture was simulated in 0.13um standard cell library. The gate count is 33.4Kgates. The architecture can support Ultra Definition Video ($3840{\times}2160$) at 100 frames per second by running at 100MHz.

Recently as the power system has been becoming massive and complicated, most of the faults bring on severe proliferation effects. Because of the complexity of the power system it is not easy to analyze faults-the calculation of current flows under fault conditions. Therefore many researches have been performed in this area. As a result of those efforts, the protective equipments for a power system have been designed to operate properly and without damage when the highest possible fault current is flowing in the power system. Most of the fault data can be also acquired from intelligent protection equipments. The fault data saved in them don't always include the fault type information. n you don't have knowledge about the fault analysis, it becomes useless. So this paper presents 3 topics to increase a reusability of them as followings. First, describes a fault data using the XML(extensible Markup Language). It would be a well-formed and valid document complied with suggested XML DTD(Document Type Definition). In this paper I suggest a standard DTD to describe the power system fault. If the XML document describes any power system faults is validated against suggested DTD, it is possible to be used in any applications. Second, sends them through the web using the XML web service. Last, presents the rapid and accurate algorithm for a fault type determination of the fault data received from the web. In the ultimate the client to request the server to analyze a fault data is provided the correct information what kind of fault is occurred.
The purpose of this study is to provide a standard job description for a nutrition teacher placed in primary and secondary schools by analyzing their duties. DACUM is an acronym for 'Developing A CUrriculuM'. It was used by experts to determine the job duties, tasks and task elements to establish the job descriptions of a nutrition teachers through the development of a DACUM chart. An expert panel consisting of 10 nutrition teachers participated in a DACUM workshop and derived nutrition teacher's DACUM chart. A total of 1,550 nutrition teachers across the country were targeted as the survey subjects for validation of the DACUM chart through their perception of the frequency, importance, and difficulty of each item in the job description. A tree structure, criticality analysis, and contents validity index were added for verification. The definition of the nutrition teacher's job and DACUM chart with 5 duties, 28 tasks, and 107 task elements were derived by the DACUM method. The definition of a nutrition teacher was 'A teacher who is responsible for food service management and nutrition education and counseling for health promotion and disease prevention for students in primary and secondary schools'. The validation results of the tree structure were the priorities of the 28 tasks with ranks 1 and 2. Because there was no third priority, it was considered to be a good representation of the tasks of nutrition teachers. The DACUM chart was found to be evenly distributed with relative importances of more than 17 or less than 11 through the criticality analysis. Since the C5-4 (Conduct simulation exercise against food poisoning)'s content validity index was significantly less than the reference value of 0.78, it was not included in the final job description. 5 duties, 28 tasks, 102 task elements were included in the final job description of a nutrition teacher.

Due to the diversity of device performances and the possibility of providing multimedia service through many networks, media consumption environment has been changed in various ways. In recent, mobile services and broadcasting services started to provided through IP network. According to this flow changes, there was great demand for various multimedia services through heterogenous networks. To solve this problem, MMT was suggested as a standard of multimedia transport which replaces MPEG-2 TS(Transport Stream) which is used for HD(High Definition) transport. MMT can be provided various broadcasting based on IP through terrestrial, satellite, cable broadcasting networks, and also deliver multimedia through many networks at the same time. MMT was risen as a method of servicing UHD broadcasting. In this paper, we present an implementation of service architecture for hierarchical UHD broadcasting over heterogenous networks using MMT.
Recently, WWW(World Wide Web) has become a source of a large amount of information, and is now recognized not only as an information-sharing tool, but also as an information repository. Currently, the majority of documents on the web were created using HTML(Hypertext Markup Language). Although HTML is simple and easy to learn, its inherent lack of describing document structure makes it difficult to retrieve information effectively. One possible solution would be to convert such HTML documents into XML (extensible Markup Language) documents. This is a standard markup language for exchanging data on the web. It can describe a document structure freely by defining its own DTD (Document Type Definition). This makes it possible to integrate, store, and retrieve data on the web efficiently In this paper, we will propose a converter that automatically converts HTML documents with similar pattern into XML documents by analyzing the document structure and recognizing its path information.
BACKGROUND: Agricultural use and pest control purposes of pesticides may lead to livestock products contamination. Thiodicarb and its degraded product, methomyl, are carbamate insecticides that protect soya bean, maize, fruit, and vegetables and control flies in animal and poultry farms. For maximum residue limit enforcement and monitoring, the JMPR residue definition of thiodicarb in animal products is the sum of thiodicarb and methomyl, expressed as methomyl. This residue definition was set to consider the fact that thiodicarb was readily degraded to methomyl in animal commodities. And therefore the simultaneous analytical method of thiodicarb and methomyl is required for monitoring in livestock products. METHODS AND RESULTS: The study was conducted using a quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe (QuEChERS) method and HPLC-MS/MS to determine the thiodicarb and methomyl in livestock products. The limit of quantitation (LOQ) was 0.01 mg/kg for livestock products, including beef, pork, chicken, milk, and egg. The coefficient of determinations (r2) for the calibration curve were > 0.99, which was acceptable values for linearity. Average recoveries at spiked levels (LOQ, 10LOQ, and 50LOQ, n=5) in triplicate ranged from 73.2% to 102.1% and relative standard deviations (RSDs) were less than 10% in all matrices. CONCLUSION: The analytical method was validated for the performance parameters (specificity, linearity, accuracy, and precision) in livestock products to be acceptable by the CODEX guidelines.

Household service robots should be able to provide their users with a variety of temporal reasoning services. In this paper, we propose an effective way of developing such temporal reasoning services using a domain-independent AI planner. Developing temporal reasoning services with a domain-independent AI planner, we have to address both the knowledge engineering problem of how to represent various real-world temporal constraints in a planning domain definition language, and the system design problem of how to realize the interface between the AI planner and the service consumer. In this paper, we introduce an example scenario and a set of typical temporal constraints for a household service robot, and then present how to represent them in the standard planning domain definition language. We also explain how to implement a service agent based on an AI planner in order to develop and provide new services efficiently.
