In this paper, we propose a feature extraction method using the stacked autoencoders which consist of restricted Boltzmann machines. The stacked autoencoders is a sort of deep networks. Restricted Boltzmann machines (RBMs) are probabilistic graphical models that can be interpreted as stochastic neural networks. In terms of pattern classification problem, the feature extraction is a key issue. We use the stacked autoencoders networks to extract new features which have a good influence on the improvement of the classification performance. After feature extraction, fuzzy k-nearest neighbors algorithm is used for a classifier which classifies the new extracted data set. To evaluate the classification ability of the proposed pattern classifier, we make some experiments with several machine learning data sets.
Magnetization loss of high temperature superconductoring BSCCO tape and YBCO coated conductor(YBCOCC) is most important issue in the development of superconducting power devices. In this paper, the measured results of magnetization losses under various angles of external magnetic field in BSCCO tape stacked conductors and YBCO CC stacked conductors are presented and compared with each other. Also, we present the compared results of magnetization losses measured at arbitrary reaction magnetic fields and analyzed with perpendicular magnetic field components of those. The results show that magnetization losses of YBCO CC single and stacked conductors agree well with the analyzed value by it's perpendicular magnetic field component, but BSCCO single and stacked conductors are not.
Multi-stacked HTS wires are needed to conduct large current in the power application. In this paper, magnetization losses of the multi-stacked YBCO wire and the BSCCO wire have been measured and compared. 4 types of YBCO wires and BSCCO wires, that is, single, 2-stacked, 3-stacked and 4-stacked, have been tested. HTS multi-stacked wires were fabricated using face-to-face type stacking method. Measurements of magnetization loss were performed under various angles of external magnetic field to consider the anisotropic characteristics of HTS wires. The ratios of the magnetization loss by multiple stacking of superconducting wires were presented. Measurements results show that loss reduction ratios have three distinct regions due to the magnitude of external magnetic field, the material of HTS wire and number of stacks.
AC loss on variation of external magnetic field is a very important factor in development of power applications. In this paper, we measured and compared AC loss of hybrid-multi stacked wire made of the combination of 1G wires and 2G wires and uniform-multi-stacked wire made of one type of wires, 1G wires or 2G wires. Measurement was performed using by the linked-picked coil method. As results, as the number of wires increase, AC loss per unit volume of both stacked wires in low external magnetic field is reduced. Also AC loss of 2G slacked wire is higher than that of 1G wire. AC loss per unit length of 2G stacked wire is less than that of 1G stacked wire. And AC loss of hybrid-multi stacked wire made of the combination of 1G wires and 2G wires was between uniform-multi-stacked wire made of 1G wires and 2G wires.
2G HTS tapes are widely used for various electric machines. In addition, stacked or parallel connected HTS tapes are essentially used to raise transport current level for large capacity electric machines. Therefore, critical current characteristic of stacked tapes need to be studied. Recently developed 2G HTS tapes are fabricated with various defects doping so that tapes possess pinning center to improve the critical current characteristic. During this process, the critical current is determined minimum value in not perpendicular magnetic field but a specific magnetic field angle according to the reported research. However, the effects of magnetic field angle to critical current of multi-stacked 2G HTS tapes have not been examined. In this paper, field coil which is a race-track coil wound by using an HTS tape with iron-core was fabricated to apply angle adjustable magnetic field to the 2G HTS tape samples. We measured critical current of single and multi-stacked two tapes that have different characteristic depending on various magnetic field angle and magnitude in liquid nitrogen environment. Furthermore, results of single and multi-stacked tapes were compared and analyzed.
Spatial distribution of injected electrons and holes is evaluated by using single-junction charge pumping technique in SONOS(Poly-silicon/Oxide/Nitride/Oxide/Silicon) memory cells. Injected electron are limited to length of ONO(Oxide/Nitride/oxide) region in locally ONO stacked cell, while are spread widely along with channel in fully ONO stacked cell. Hot-holes are trapped into the oxide as well as the ONO stack in locally ONO stacked cell.
This paper deals with the vibration characteristics of stacked transducers composed of piezoelectric discs, which are main elements of ultrasonic sensors or actuators. The stacked transducers were devised in the sense of natural frequencies. Two- or three-layer transducers were fabricated with piezoelectric discs of different diameters. The natural frequencies were determined by the finite element analysis and they were verified by comparing them with experimental results. It appeared that the natural frequencies of the stacked piezoelectric transducers include the natural frequencies of the constituent piezoelectric discs and the natural frequencies caused by stacking. Based on these results, it would be possible to predict the vibration characteristics of the stacked piezoelectric transducers in a design process.
We report, for the first time, the fabrication of vertically stacked InGaAs/GaAs quantum wires (QWRs) on V-grooved substrates by chemical beam epitaxy (CBE). To fabricate the vertically stacked QWRs structure, we have grown the GaAs resharpening barrier layers on V-grooves with (100)-(322) facet configuration instead of (100)-(111) base at 450 $^{\circ}C$. Under the conditions of low growth temperature, the growth rate of GaAs on the (322) sidewall is higher than that at the (100) bottom. Transmission electron microscopy verifies that the vertically stacked InGaAs QWRs were formed in sizes of about $200{\AA} {\times} 500{\sim}600 {\AA}$. Three distinct photoluminescence peaks related with side-quantum wells (QWLs), top-QWLs and QWRs were observed even at 200 K due to sufficient carrier and optical confinement. These results strongly suggest the existence of the quantized state in the vertically stacked InGaAs/GaAs QWRs grown by CBE.

In this work, the electrical characteristics of organic thin film transistors with the stacked organic gate insulators have been studied. PVP(Polyvinylphenol) and polystyrene were used as gate insulating materials. Both the high dielectric constant of PVP and better insulating capability of polystyrene were compensatorily adopted in two different stacking orders of PVP-polystyrene and polystyrene-PVP. The output characteristics of the device with the stacked gate insulator showed substantial improvement compared with those of the devices with either PVP or polystyrene gate insulator: Furthermore, these stacked organic gate insulators can differently affect the TFT characteristics with the stacking orders. The electrical properties of TFTs with organic gate insulators stacked in different orders are discussed.
