Tyrosinase is a widespread enzyme with great promising capabilities. The Lineweaver-Burk plots of the catecholase reactions showed that the kinetics of mushroom tyrosinase (MT), activated by $Co^{2+}$ and $Zn^{2+}$ at different pHs (6, 7, 8 and 9) obeyed the non-essential activation mode. The binding of metal ions to the enzyme increases the maximum velocity of the enzyme due to an increase in the enzyme catalytic constant ($k_{cat}$). From the kinetic analysis, dissociation constants of the activator from the enzyme-metal ion complex ($K_a$) were obtained as $5{\times}10^4M^{-1}$ and $8.33{\times}10^3M^{-1}$ for $Co^{2+}$ and $Zn^{2+}$ at pH 9 and 6 respectively. The structural analysis of MT through circular dichroism (CD) and intensive fluorescence spectra revealed that the conformational stability of the enzyme in these pHs reaches its maximum value in the presence of each of the two metal ions.
The superoxide dismutase (SOD)-mimetic activities of copper complexes of a series of salicylic acid (SA) analogs were tested and compared to the activity of bovine erythrocyte SOD using ferricytochrome c reduction assay. Stability constants of copper complexes were measured potentiometrically using SCOGS2 program. In the presence of 10 g/l albumin, all the copper complexes lost their SOD mimetic activities. Multiple regression analysis was employed for the statistical comparisons between the SOD mimetic activity and their physicochemical properties. Correlation exists for the SOD mimetic activity and steric parameter $(E_s)$ and/or electronic parameter $({\Sigma}{\sigma})$ in xanthine/xanthine oxidase (XOD) system, demonstrating that E, plays a key role in SOD activity whereas ${\Sigma}{\sigma}$ influences it to a lesser extent. The protective effect of copper complexes against membrane damage was measured by counting D-glucose released frm $EG_s$. D-glucose and XOD were entrapped within $EG_s$ and acetaldehyde was used as a substrate for XOD. In this membrane model system using $EG_s$, hydrophobic parameter $({\Sigma}{\pi})$ is of most importance, producing parabolic equation while $E_s$, and ${\Sigma}{\sigma}$ appear to playa minor role in protection against D-glucose release. In summary, to design an efficient SOD mimetic, stability, steric factor, lipophilicity and redox potential should be considered.
The effect of high pressure on the stability of copper(II), cadmium(II) and zinc (II) complex ions with ethylenediamine, propylenediamine, diethylenetriamine has been investigated polarographically. 0.10M KN$O_3$ solution was used as a supporting electrolyte. The concentration of chelating agents was varied from 0.01M to 1.00M. The dissociation constants of metal complex ions were increased with increasing the pressure from 1 atmosphere to 1,500 atmospheres. The increment of the dissociation constant per unit atmosphere varied from 1.1 ${\times} 10^{-3}$% for Cu(dien)$_2^{2+}$ to 5.0 ${\times} 10^{-3}$ % for Zn(en)$_2^{2+}$.

In this paper, we consider the sway suppression control problem for container cranes with the frictions between the trolley and the rail. If the friction effects in the system can be modelled, there is an improved potential to design controllers that can cancel the effects. The proposed control improves the trolley positioning and sway suppressing against various frictions. The proposed synthesis combines a variable structure control and the adaptive control to cope with various frictions including the unknown constants. First, the variable structure control with the simple switching action is designed, which is based on a class of feedback lineariztion methods for the fast stabilization of the under-actuated sway dynamics of container. Second, the adaptive control with a parameter estimation is designed, which is based on Lyapunov stability methods for suppressing the oscillation of the trolley travelling, especially due to Coulomb friction in the vicinity of the target position. The asymptotic stability of the overall closed-loop system is assured irrespective of variations of rope length. Simulation are shown under initial sway, external wind disturbances, and various frictions.
Novel macrocyclic ligands modified with pendant arms, N, N', N'', N''', N'''', N'''''-hexakis(2-aminoethyl)-1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16-hexaazacyclootadecane [$L_3$, Fig.1] and 1, 4, 7-tris(3-(o-hydroxyphenyl)propyl)-1, 4, 7-triazacyclononane [$L_4$, Fig.1] have been synthesized, and the protonation of $L_3$ and $L_4$ and stability constants of $L_3$ with bivalent transition metal ions and rare earth metal ions were determined by a potentiometry. The obtained results show that the complex formation of $L_3$ depends on the metal ligand ratios, and the stability of the metal complexes does not depend on the sizes of the metal ions, but on the nature of the metal ions. The structures of the rare earth complexes for $L_4$ were characterized by an X-ray absorption spectrometry(XAFS).
The electrochemical behaviors of lanthanide ion(La and Nd) and lanthanide complexes with 2, 2, 6, 6-tetramethyl-3, 5-heptanedione(THD), sym-hydroxydibenzo-16-crown-5(HD16C5) and sym-dibenzo-16-crown-5-oxyacetic acid(D16C5A) ligands in acton solution have been investigated by the use of cyclic voltammetry and direct current polarography. The peak potential and peak current, their dependency on the concentration, temperature, the reversibility of the eleotrode reactions are described. The reduction of the lanthanide ions and complexes in 0.05 M TEAP proceeded one-electron step in first step and one two-electron step in second step. These reduction step was irreversible and the reduction current was diffusion controlled. Macrovcyclic crown ethers, sym-hydroxydibenzo-16-crown-5(HD16C5) and sym-dibenzo-16-crown-5-oxyacetic acid(D16C5A), were prepared from 1, 5-bis-(2-hydroxyphenoxy)-3-oxapentane with epichlorohydrin. The voltammetric behaviors of Ln(III)-HD16C5 and Ln-D16C5A complexes in aceton solution have been investigated by the voltammetric method. The composition and stability constants of lanthanide complexes were determined.

Rotating fluid induced vibration and instability of embedded piezoelectric nano-composite separators subjected to magnetic and electric fields is the main contribution of present work. The separator is modeled with cylindrical shell element and the structural damping effects are considered by Kelvin-Voigt model. Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) are used as reinforcement and effective material properties are obtained by mixture rule. The perturbation velocity potential in conjunction with the linearized Bernoulli formula is used for describing the rotating fluid motion. The orthotropic surrounding elastic medium is considered by spring, damper and shear constants. The governing equations are derived on the bases of classical shell theory (CST), first order shear deformation theory (FSDT) and sinusoidal shear deformation theory (SSDT). The nonlinear frequency and critical angular fluid velocity are calculated by differential quadrature method (DQM). The detailed parametric study is conducted, focusing on the combined effects of the external voltage, magnetic field, visco-Pasternak foundation, structural damping and volume percent of SWCNTs on the stability of structure. The numerical results are validated with other published works as well as comparing results obtained by three theories. Numerical results indicate that with increasing volume fraction of SWCNTs, the frequency and critical angular fluid velocity are increased.
In recent years, there have been an increasing number of experimental studies showing the need to include robustness criteria in the design process to develop complex active control designs for practical implementation. The paper investigates the crosswind aerodynamic parameters after the blocking phase of a two-dimensional square cross-section structure by measuring the response in wind tunnel tests under light wind flow conditions. To improve the accuracy of the results, the interpolation of the experimental curves in the time domain and the analytical responses were numerically optimized to finalize the results. Due to this combined effect, the three aerodynamic parameters decrease with increasing wind speed and asymptotically affect the upper branch constants. This means that the aerodynamic parameters along the density distribution are minimal. Taylor series are utilized to describe the fuzzy nonlinear plant and derive the stability analysis using polynomial function for analyzing the aerodynamic parameters and numerical simulations. Due to it will yield intricate terms to ensure stability criterion, therefore we aim to avoid kinds issues by proposing a polynomial homogeneous framework and utilizing Euler's functions for homogeneous systems. Finally, we solve the problem of stabilization under the consideration by SOS (sum of squares) and assign its fuzzy controller based on the feasibility of demonstration of a nonlinear system as an example.

Especially in the case of a full form ship, the stability on course can be considered to become severest among 4 items of criteria in Interim Standards for Ship Maneuverability adopted by IMO in 1993. The purpose of this study is to find some ideas for the improvement of stability on course through changes in rudder area with reference to span distance. In this paper, we established the formula on the relation between the experimental constants relevant to rudder normal force and hydrodynamic derivatives of hull-propeller-rudder system. We carried out various kinds of captive model test relevant to rudder normal force etc., and evaluated hydrodynamic derivatives of hull-propeller-rudder system, and analyzed the stability on course with the parameter of changes in rudder area. Furthermore, we also discussed effects of changes in rudder area on maneuvering performance including stability on course, based on computer simulation. As a result, it is clarified that there is a possibility that stability on course may become bad through an increase of rudder area. The reason for the bad stability on course is that the void space between the upper edge of rudder and the lower part of stern overhang decreases. This space change exerts a great influence on straightening coefficient of incoming flow to rudder in maneuvering motion, which has close relation to stability on course.

Solution equilibria of the thmary systems $UO_2(II)$, La(III), Ce(III)-N-(2-acetamido)-iminodiacetic acid and dicarboxylic amino acids are studied potentiometrically. The formation of 1:1:1 mixed ligand complexes are inferred from the potentiometric titration curves. The formation constants of the different binary and thmary complexes in such system are evaluated at t=$24\pm{0.1}^\circ{C}\;and\;\mu=0.1\;mol\;dm^{-3}(kNO_3)$. It is deduced that the temary complex is more stable than the corresponding binary amino acid anion complex. Moreover, the order og stability of the binary or temary complexes in terms of nature of amino acid and metal ion is investigated and discussed.
