  • In this reseach, double-layered photoconductor consist of the carrier generation layer(CGL) of $\varepsilon$ type copper phthalocyanine thin film by an aqueous coating method and the carrier transport layer(CGL) of polyvinyl carbazol(PVK) by spin coating. We inverstigated effect of the surfactant solution and cathod electrolysis to the crystal type of $\varepsilon$-CuPc in CGL with TEM, SEM and X- ray diffraction spectroscopy and studied the mechanism of an aqueous coating for the preparation of CGL. The effect of the washing of CGL about the electrophotographic characteristics of the $\varepsilon$-CuPc/PVK doublelayered photoconductors is studied also.

  • The electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrum of the copper (II) complex with the 2-methylamino-1-cyclo-pentene-1-dithiocarboxylate (acdc) anion, $Cu(N-CH_3acdc)_2$ has been studied in the diamagnetic host lattices afforded by the corresponding divalent nickel, zinc, cadmium and mercury complexes. EPR parameters of the complex support the exclusive use of sulfur atoms by the ligand in metal binding. A combination of host lattice structure and covalency effects can be account for the observed spin-Hamiltonian parameters.

  • Electron spin resonance and magnetization measurements were carried out on $La_0.7Ca_0.3MnO_3$ in the ferromagnetic as well as paramagnetic phases. Evidence of an inhomogeneous magnetic structure, consisting of ferro-magnetic microregions embedded in an antiferromagnetic matrix near $T_c$, as well as similar local magnetic structures above and below $T_c$, were found.

  • It was observed that exchange bias field was increased with smooth surface and better ${\gamma}$-FeMn formation. Sputtering conditions were varied for the control of the surface roughness and ${\gamma}$-FeMn formation. From the results of Cu deposition as underlayer, it was found that ${\gamma}$-FeMn formation was closely related with the thickness of underlayer. After heat treatment, exchange bias field was increased over three times. This improvement was likely that the crystallites of ${\gamma}$-FeMn were well formed. In Co/Cu/Co/FeMn spin valve structure, magnetoresistance was increased over 1.4 times through the heat treatment. This was due to the disappearance of Co/Cu intermixed dead layer and removal of defect, and this was examined by AES analysis.

  • Solution processed conjugated molecules enable to manufacture various electronic devices by unconventional and cost effective patterning methods as screen or gravure printing. Spin-coating is the most popularly used method to form conjugated polymeric film for various electronic devices. The coating method has certain disadvantages such as a large amount of unwanted wastes, difficulty forming a film with a large area, and impossible to apply roll-to-roll manufacturing. We present here a promising alternative coating method, bar-coating for conjugated polymer film and OLED with the bar coated light emitting layer. In this papers, we show atomic force microscope images of spin- and bar-coated Poly[(9,9-di-n-octylfluorenyl-2,7-diyl)-alt-(benzo[2,1,3]thiadiazol-4,8-diyl)] (F8BT) films on substrate. The bar-coated film showed a slight lower RMS roughness (1.058 [nm]) than spin-coated film (1.767 [nm]). It means the bar-coating is suitable method to form light emitting layers in OLEDs. By using bar-coating process, an OLED obtained with 4.7 [cd/A] in maximum current efficiency.

  • The magnetic easy axis of the ferromagnetic layer for the dual-type GMR-SV (giant magnetoresistance-spin valve) having NiFe/Cu/NiFe/IrMn/NiFe/Cu/NiFe multuilayer structure controlled by the post annealing treatment. The magnetoresistive curves of a dual-type IrMn based GMR-SV depending on the direction of the magnetic easy axis of the free and the pinned layers are measured by the different angles for the applied fields. By investigating the switching process of magnetization for an arbitrary measuring direction, the optimum annealing temperature having a steady and isotropy magnetic sensitivity of 2.0 %/Oe was $105^{\circ}C$. This result suggests that the in-plane orthogonal magnetization for the dual-type GMR-SV film can be used by a high sensitive biosensor.

  • We investigated the interface of poly (3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and C61-butyric acid methylester (PCBM) by using photoelectron spectroscopy (PES). These are the most widely used materials for bulk heterojunction (BHJ) organic solar cells due to their high efficiency. Study of the BHJ interfaces is difficult because the organic films are typically prepared by spin coating in ambient conditions. This is incompatible with the interface electronic structure probes such as PES, which requires ultrahigh vacuum conditions. Study of interface requires gradual deposition of thin films that is also incompatible with the spin coating process. In this work, we used electrospray vacuum deposition (EVD) technique to deposit P3HT and PCBM in high vacuum conditions. EVD allows us to form polymer thin films onto ITO substrate in a step-wise manner directly from solutions and to use PES without exposing the sample to the ambient condition. Although the morphology of the EVD deposited P3HT films observed by optical and atomic force microscopes is quite different from that of the spin coated ones, the valence region spectra were similar. PCBM was deposited on the P3HT film in a similar manner and the energy level alignment between these two materials was studied. We discuss the relation between Voc of P3HT:PCBM solar cell and HOMO-LUMO energy offset obtained in this study.
