Two linyphiid spiders, Saitonia kawaguchikonis Saito & Ono, 2001 and Asthenargus niphonius Saito & Ono, 2001 were confirmed from Korea for the first time. Males of S. kawaguchikonis and a female of A. niphonius were collected with pitfall traps in a leaf litter of mixed forests in three National Parks (Hallyeohaesang National Park, Mt. Naejangsan, and Mt. Sobaeksan) during the seasonal surveys for the spider fauna in mountainous terrain from 2018 to 2020. These two species were formerly known from China and Japan, or only from Japan, respectively. The present study describes these two species with measurements, morphological illustrations, and a distribution map. This report adds the genus Asthenargus Simon & Fage, 1922 from Korea to the Korean spider fauna for the first time.

This study was carried out to investigate the arthropod fauna at tangerine orchards in Cheju-do island. To fulfil this purpose, samples were taken at 21 areas from the Cheju-do island 1985 to 1989. During this period, 33 species were identified, thus making 217 species, 99 genera, 31 families of spiders recorded from this island, In tangerine orchards alone, 26 species of spiders were found.

경상남도 밀양 소재 가지산도립공원에서 채집한 317개체의 거미류는 20과 59속 66종으로 동정되었다. 종지수(species richness)는 깡충거미과 12종(20.0%), 꼬마거미과 8종(12.1%), 접시거미과 5종(7.6%), 왕거미과, 코리나거미과, 수리거미과 및 게거미과가 각 4종(6.1%), 갈거미과, 비탈거미과 및 새우게거미과가 각 3종(4.5%)의 순이었다. 동물지리구에 따른 종은 범열대종 1종(1.5%), 구북구종 4종(6.1%) 및 한국고유종은 3종(4.5%)이었으며 향후 산지에서의 생물상 및 생물자원의 분포 및 장기 모니터링에 중요한 정보를 제공할 것으로 사료된다.

The powertrain of the waterjet system of a special-purpose vehicle makes use of the cardan shaft, which is composed of universal joints and shafts. These universal joints, composed of spiders and needle roller bearings, have to be designed with consideration for the bending and compressive stresses of the spiders and needle roller bearings, and the rating lives of the bearings. The bending and compressive stresses of the spider and bearing of a universal joint have been studied by many researchers. However, to design a universal joint effectively, overall consideration of the different specifications of needle roller bearings is necessary. In this study, the bending stresses of spiders and compressive stresses of needle roller bearings are calculated to design universal joints for powertrain cardan shafts with different roller diameters of bearing. Furthermore, the rating lives of the needle roller bearings are predicted using the calculated basic dynamic load ratings of the bearings. As a result, roller diameters less than 𝜙2.5 mm are found suitable through an analysis of the bending stress of the spider. All compressive stresses between spider and bearing, regardless of roller diameter, satisfy the requirements. Moreover, roller diameters of more than 𝜙2 mm are found suitable for the required rating life.
