  • Measurements of the RF(Radio Frequency) noise spectrum from 30 MHz to 18 GHz have been conducted at 21 urban areas in Korea in 1994 and 1995. Statistical analysis of the data measured seasonally, day and night, at each different point has been performed. The results of the computer analysis on APD, NAD, and ACR[1] using GUI(Graphical User Interface) program show that the radio noise environments vary little in spring, summer, and winter, while the noise level increases a little in fall. In addition, the noise level of the night time shows a little higher than that of the day time.

  • Laboratory measurements were made of wall pressure fluctuations in a separated and reattaching flow over a backward-facing step. An array of 32 microphones along the streamwise direction was utilized. Various statistical properties of pressure fluctuations were scrutinized. The main emphasis was placed on the flow inhomogeneity along the streamwise direction. One point statistics such as the streamwise distribution of rms pressure and autospectra were shown to be generally consistent with other studies. The coherences and wavenumber spectra in the streamwise directions were indicative of the presence of dual modes in pressure; one is the large-scale vortical structure in low frequency and the other is the boundary-layer-like decaying mode in high frequency.

  • In this paper, we psresent a new scheme to synthetically generate a HPO digital hologram for a three-dimensional image that is modelled as the horizontally stacked two-dimensional images. The proposed method transforms a lightwave field into the angular spectrum of planewaves, which enables this method to use FFT routines, rather than using numerous arithmetic calculations. Hence, this method may be able to not only lead to the dramatically less computation but provide relatively excellent performances due to the phase error-free transformation. We present sampling constraints and implementaton procedure to obtian a hololine for each image and also point out the necessity of interpolation. Simulatioj results are presented to show the comparison with the conventional method in terms of computation time and performances, including the behaviors resulting form the different selection of parameter values to be used in the interpolations.

  • To improve the identification power of TLC/HPTLC the in situ reflectance spectra obtained directly from plates with commercial scanner are used. The spectrum normalization should be carried out prior to comparing and searching the spectra from library for the identification of compounds. Because the reflectance does not obey the Lambert-Beer's law, there arise some problems in normalization. These problems could be solved to some extent by normalizing the spectra with regression methods. The spectra are manipulated with the regression function of a curve obtained from the correlation plot. When the parabola was used as the manipulating function, the spectra were identified with the accuracy of 97% and this result was better than that of conventionally used the point and area normalization method.

  • In this paper, computerized BEAM was implemented for the space domain analysis of EEG. Transformation from temporal summation to two-dimensional mappings is formed by 4 nearest point interpolaton method. Methods of representation of BEAM are two. One is dot density method which classify brain electrical potential 9 levels by dot density of gray levels and the other is colour method which classify brain electrical 12 levels by red-green colours. In this BEAM, instantaneous change and average energy distribution over any arbitrary time interval of brain electrical activity could be observed and analyzed easily. In the frequency domain, the distribution of energy spectrum of a special band can easily be distinguished normality and abnormality.

  • Most structures are expected to deform beyond the limit of linearly elastic behavior when subjected to strong ground motion. Seismic evaluation of structure requires an estimation of the structural performance in terms of displacement demand imposed by earthquakes on the structure. Nonlinear response history analysis(NRHA) is the most rigorous procedure to compute seismic performance among various inelastic analysis methods. But nonlinear analysis procedures necessitate more practical and reliable tools for predicting seismic behavior of structures. This paper presents a nonlinear direct spectrum method(NDSM) to evaluate seismic performance of structures, without iterative computations, given by the structural initial elastic period and yield strength from the pushover analysis, especially for MDF(multi degree of freedom) system. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the accuracy and reliability of this method from a point of view of various earthquakes and structure parameters.

  • For a positive integer k, an operator T is said to be k-quasi-*-paranormal if ${\parallel}T^{k+2}x{\parallel}{\parallel}T^kx{\parallel}{\geq}{\parallel}T^*T^kx{\parallel}^2$ for all x $\in$ H, which is a generalization of *-paranormal operator. In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for T to be a k-quasi-*-paranormal operator. We also prove that the spectrum is continuous on the class of all k-quasi-*-paranormal operators.

  • The Track geometry measuring on High-speed railway is the most important subject for the track construction and track maintenance work. Also the measuring accuracy is so significant part because it provides principle data for the maintenance plan and the assesment of working quality and can control the train speed limitation. From this point of view, it is very important to verify for the track recording coach(EM120) in KNR. According to the result of spectrum analysis, the noise near 1m waveband was found on the track recording data from EM120. So, New filter has been applied to remove the noise form track recording data. and it makes possible to acquire resembling result to real track geometry.

  • Let $\cal{K}$ be the extension Hilbert space of a Hilbert space $\cal{H}$ and let $\Phi$ be the faithful $\ast$-representation of $\cal{B}(\cal{H})$ on $\cal{k}$. In this paper, we show that if T is an irreducible ${\omega}-hyponormal$ operators such that $ker(T)\;{\subset}\;ker(T^{*})$ and $T^{*}T\;-\;TT^{\ast}$ is compact, then $\sigma_{e}(T)\;=\;\sigma_{e}(\Phi(T))$.

  • In this paper, we propose a new adaptive MIMO switching algorithm that provides the optimal trade-off between throughput and reliability of data in MIMO system. The proposed algorithm is based on the variable packet error predictor which is robust for channel estimation error, and we show that our algorithm has a better spectrum efficiency than the conventional MIMO switching techniques about 8 percent point.
