전파 잡음 측정 장치의 개발 (DEVELOPMENT OF A RADIO-NOISE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM)

  • We have developed a measurement system with which harmful radio noise can be detected. It was designed to cover 1GHz band width centered at l.5GHz and 22.2GHz ($H_2O$ line).The system consists of pyramid horn antennas, receivers, equatorial tracking system, spectrum analyzer, and PC for the control of the servo and data taking. As a test of the system, the site of Taeduk Radio Astronomy Observatory (TRAO) was investigated to see if there is any harmful radio interference. It is found that in 22GHz band there is no significant radio noise, but there are identified and unidentified artificial radio signals in 1-2GHz range. However a simple calculation of radiation power shows that it is week enough not to affect the observations in TRAO.

  • This paper simulated partial discharge caused by 22.9[kV] power cable using XLPE(Peroxide Crosslinkable Polyethylene) insulation having the outside damage. As one of the insulation diagnostic method a radiated electromagnetic waves were measured by an UHF method using a BiconiLog antenna(EMCO-3142) and a spectrum analyzer used to measure EMI, EMC. From results of this study, It was confirmed that discharge progress were possible to be estimated by the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we measured PD signals from artificial surface defects and corona discharges under laboratory circumstances like the fields using both HFCT-sensor and UHF-sensor for MV grade XLPE cable with AMP, spectrum analyzer and oscilloscope. Also, detected signals were analyzed via PRPDA system in this paper. As a result, in this case of HFCT-sensor, the amount of background noise are larger than as compared to UHF-sensor. There is needed some hardware or software or software algorithm removing background noise effectively for diagnosis the underground power transmission cable in the case of HFCT-sensor.

  • 본 논문에서는 XLPE 고체 절연체내의 부분방전(partical discharge:PD)발생 및 진전에 따른 라 방사되는 UHF 대역의 방사전자파를 측정, 분석하고 PD진전에 따른 그 스펙트럼의 특성을 연구 하였다. PD를 모의하기 위해 침을 XLPE 절연체내에 삽입하고 그 사이에 보이드층을 만들었다. 고체절연체의 열화를 고려하여 일정시간 동안 일정 전압을 유지하고 이때 발생되는 방사전자파를 EMI, EMC 안테나(EMCO-3142)와 Spectrum analyzer로 측정, 분석하였다.

  • A novel type of single phase multi-step inverter is proposed, which has twelve-stepped levels of the output voltage. In this inverter the waveform of the output votage has smaller harmonic contents than those of a conventional six-step inverter. In this paper a new multi-step technique is analyzed. This new multi-step technique of the twelve-stewed single phase voltage source inverter has the advantage compared with the conventional six-step inverter, and the experimental results are proved by the calculation using spectrum-analyzer.

Analytical Characteristics and Applications of Laser Ionization Mass Spectrometry

  • We have built a laser ionization mass spectrometer (LIMS) for chemical composition analysis of solid samples, which employs an Nd:YAG laser and a time-of-flight mass analyzer. In this spectrometer, the maximum mass we identified clearly is higher than 2000 amu. A mass resolution of 230 has been achieved at m/z 208 (Pb element) in the linear TOFMS and can be even improved up to 1550 by employing a reflectron. The detection limit is determined to be on the order of ppm for Fe and In. The depth resolution is found to be about 20Å/spectrum with a laser power of 0.5 J/cm2. We also report a preliminary application of the LIMS to identifying impurities resident in several solid samples.

Effect of Soaking Temperature on Erbium Doping of Optical Fiber Core in MVCD Solution Doping Process

  • Effect of soaking temperature on erbium doping of the optical fiber core during solution doping procedure, especially in the modified chemical vapor deposition (MCVD) process, was investigated. The concentration of dopants such as $Er^{3+} and Al^{3+}$ in the preforms and the optical fibers measured by the electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) and the optical spectrum analyzer (OSA) was found to increase with decreasing the soaking temperature. The increase in the concentration of the $Er^{3+}$ is attributed to the precipitation of the erbium due to the decrease in the solubility as well as the increase of capillary force and viscosity of the doping solution by decreasing the temperature.

  • 분산천이 광섬유에서 두 입력 레이저광을 입사하여 부분축퇴된 4광파 효율 특성을 측정하였다. 효율은 약 -26 dB로, 대역폭은 2 nm로 측정되었다. 또한 광섬유의 영분산 파장 근처에서 4광파혼합 효율은 OSA(optical spectrum analyzer)의 분해능 한계(0.05 nm)로 정밀히 측정하므로서 4광파 혼합에 대한 위상 정합조건으로부터 선형 분산 기울기값을 계산하였다.

  • In 2021, development of a regional satellite navigation system called KPS was approved. In this regard, various studies are in progress, but there is no published signal model. So, in relation to the user segment, it is necessary to design a user receiver, but there is no information. Therefore, in this paper, we assume a signal model that can be a candidate signal for KPS based on related studies. This signal uses CNAV-2 structure navigation message, truncated Gold code and BPSK modulation. Based on this signal, a simulator is designed that can be used for receiver design later. The simulator consists of a signal generator and a signal transmitter, and is verified using a software receiver and spectrum analyzer.

  • In this paper, a low-cost, flexible GPS simulator based on USRP is designed as a general-purpose software wireless front-end. The simulator consists of a software GPS signal generator and a USRP-based RF transmitter. The simulator supports various scenarios including specified reception time, quantization bit level, I/Q data types, IF frequency, sampling frequency, SNR, ionospheric delay and user dynamics. The generated GPS RF signal is verified using the spectrum analyzer and off-the-shelf GNSS receivers such as U-blox M8T. The experimental results shows that the difference between generated and real live signal is ignorable. It is expected that designed GPS simulator can be used to GNSS signal design, receiver design and signal processing algorithms such as anti-jamming.
