The Constrained Linear Spectral Unmixing(CLSU) is investigated for sub-pixel image processing, Its result is the abundance map which mean fractions of endmember existing in a mixed pixel. Compared to the Linear Spectral Unmixing using least square method, CLSU uses the NNLS (Non-Negative Least Square) algorithm to guarantee that the estimated fractions are constrained. But, CLSU gets Into difficulty in image processing due to select endmember at a user's disposition. In this study, endmember selection optimization method using entropy in the error-image analysis is proposed. In experiments which is used hyperion image, it is shown that our method can select endmember number than CLSU based on unsupervised endemeber selection.
Recently as color image processing to be become independent have been desired at the light source in an image processing and it have been enlarged. An image processing of the light source which is become independent means an image processing which uses a spectral reflectance information. We improved it in the spectral reflectance estimation method which uses existing 3-band image in this research that the improvement of an identity color population generation method which uses the hue angle and the processing speed improvement and introduces a labelling method. The precision of a spectral reflectance estimation appeared to the ${\Delta}E^*_{ab}$ of an average 2.7 comparing with the measurement price. The practical use possibility came to be fast and appeared a processing speed compared with existing method.
Detection and identification of targets from remotely sensed imagery are of great interest for civilian and military application. This paper presents an algorithm for target detection in high spatial resolution imagery based on the spectral and the dimensional characteristics of the reference target. In this algorithm, the spectral and the dimensional information of the reference target is extracted automatically from the sample image of the reference target. Then in the entire image, the candidate target pixels are extracted based on the spectral characteristics of the reference target. Finally, groups of candidate pixels which form isolated spatial objects of similar size to that of the reference target are extracted as detected targets. The experimental test results showed that even though the algorithm detected spatial objects which has different shape as targets if the spectral and the dimensional characteristics are similar to that of the reference target, it could detect 97.5% of the targets in the image. Using hyperspectral image and utilizing the shape information are expected to increase the performance of the proposed algorithm.

It is difficult to classify tidal flat surface that is composed of a mixture of mud, sand, water and microphytobenthos. We used a Linear Spectral Unmixing (LSU) method for effectively classifying the tidal flat surface characteristics within a pixel. This study aims at 1) detecting algal mat using LSU in the Saemangeum tidal flats, 2) determining a suitable end-member selection method in tidal flats, and 3) find out a habitual characteristics of algal mat. Two types of end-member were built; one is a reference end-member derived from field spectrometer measurements and the other image end-member. A field spectrometer was used to measure spectral reflectance, and a spectral library was accomplished by shape difference of spectra, r.m.s. difference of spectra, continuum removal and Mann-Whitney U-test. Reference end-members were extracted from the spectral library. Image end-members were obtained by applying Principle Component Analysis (PCA) to an image. The LSU method was effective to detect microphytobenthos, and successfully classified the intertidal zone into algal mat, sediment, and water body components. The reference end-member was slightly more effective than the image end-member for the classification. Fine grained upper tidal flat is generally considered as a rich habitat for algal mat. We also identified unusual microphytobenthos that inhabited coarse grained lower tidal flats.

Tri-stimulus values of CIE-XYZ and RGB values obtained by photographic film, CCD camera or scanner depend on the spectral sensitivity of imaging devices and the spectral radiant distribution of the illumination. It is important to record and reproduce the reflectance spectra of the object for true device independent color reproduction and high accurate recording of the scene. In this paper, a method to record the reflection spectra of the object is introduced and its application to spectral endoscopes is presented.
Spectral reflectance of the object should be measured to predict the color of object under various illuminants. The spectral reflectance can be represented in a multi-dimension space. Generally the information of inputed image by digital camera and color scanner is represented with 3-dimension color signals such as RGB. In other to predict the color of inputed image under any illuminant, we should be estimated spectral reflectance of the object. In this paper, we described the method to predict spectral reflectance by einenvector using the skin color of printed image, confirmed availability and propriety through experiment. we estimated spectral reflectance of skin color taken by RGB color signals and than reproduced skin color according to various illuminants on CRT.
SAM(Spectral Angle Mapper) is the method using the similarly of the angle between pairs of signatures instead of the spectral distance(MDC, MLC etc.) for classification or clustering. In this paper, we applied unsupervised techniques(Unsupervised SAM and ISODATA) to the Hyperspectral Image(Hyperion) which has innumerable, narrow and contiguous spectral bands and Multispectral Image(ETM$\^$+/) for the clustering of signatures. The overall measured accuracies of the USAM and ISODATA of multispectral image were 76.52%, 53.91% and the USAM and ISODATA of hyperspectral image were 63.04%, 53.91%. From the results of our test, we report that the Unsupervised SAM is better classfication technique than ISODATA. Also we believe that the "Spectral Angle" can potentially be one of the most accurate classifier not only multispectral images but hyperspectral images.
Multi-Spectral Camera(MSC) is a main payload on the KOMPSAT-2 satellite to perform the earth remote sensing. The MSC instrument has one(1) channel for panchromatic imaging and four(4) channel for multi-spectral imaging covering the spectral range from 450nm to 900nm using TDI CCD Focal Plane Array (FPA). The compression method on KOMPSAT-2 MSC was selected and used to match EOS input rate and PDTS output data rate on MSC image data chain. At once the MSC performance was carefully handled to minimize any degradation so that it was analyzed and restored in KGS(KOMPSAT Ground Station) during LEOP and Cal./Val.(Calibration and Validation) phase. In this paper, on-orbit image data chain in MSC and image data processing on KGS including general MSC description is briefly described. The influences on image performance between on-board compression algorithms and between performance restoration methods in ground station are analyzed and discussed.
This paper presents a unified framework for joint Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based vehicle detection by leveraging multi-spectral image pairs. With the observation that under challenging environments such as night vision and limited light source, vehicle detection in a single color image can be more tractable by using additional far-infrared (FIR) image, we design joint CNN architecture for both RGB and FIR image pairs. We assume that a score map from joint CNN applied to overall image can be considered as confidence of vehicle existence. To deal with various scale ratios of vehicle candidates, multi-scale images are first generated scaling an image according to possible scale ratio of vehicles. The vehicle candidates are then detected on local maximal on each score maps. The generation of overlapped candidates is prevented with non-maximal suppression on multi-scale score maps. The experimental results show that our framework have superior performance than conventional methods with a joint framework of multi-spectral image pairs reducing false positive generated by conventional vehicle detection framework using only single color image.
