An economic design of specification limits for production process of ham is considered for a given process mean in a complete inspection plan. Each ham is inspected, and if it meets the specification, it is accepted. The ham less than the lower specification limit are changed another products or at a discounted price, and those greater than the upper specification limit are reworked. A profit model is developed which involves selling price, production cost, rework cost and the cost which is incurred by imperfect quality. Methods for finding the optimal specification limits are derived for the case of piecewise linear loss function with an industrial case study.

As an optimun alternatives for the solution of recent software crisis, we have to develop component technologies so as to develop and propagate business components for various domains to industries. For the sake of development of business components, a conceptual architecture which defines a model for component assembly should be prescribed first, and a systematic specification method based on this model be defined, so we can build a system environments for making specifications and development of each component by the consistent scheme. In this study, we propose a domain architecture model for implementing the pUblic component bank as a project supported by the ministry of information and communication, discuss the conceptual model of specification for developing components of storing component bank, specification steps, specification approach for application of business domains and the development results of them.

The system specification is a system theory based formal representation method for systems' structure and behavior modeling. When we make use of the system specification method in each step of software development, we can derive a hierarchical and modularized system design which enables us to manage the software development process flexibly. This research presents system specification based design of a mobile alarm system which sends alerts about illegal usage of private information and manages the response against the each alert. In our design of mobile alarm system, there are formal definition of alert message overcoming the functional limitation of mobile device and hierarchical modularized modeling of alarm processing using system specification. The efficiency of making use of the system specification is shown by applying the specification method to implementation of mobile alarm system. The contribution of this work is in design and implementation of mobile alarm system which enables us to handle the private information leakage situation more flexible way using system specification based software designing method.

The purpose of this study is to retrospect the establishment process of specification of modern factory-made traditional Korean roof-tile. Its another purpose is to analyze the specification of watong(瓦桶, a wooden molding frame for roof tile making) which is recorded in the literature of Joseon dynasty. The results of this study are as follows. : First, the specification of modern factory-made Korean roof-tile that currently used was established in 1978. And it did not succeed old traditional specification. Second, in case of construction or repair of main building of palace, it was a principle to use Daewa(大瓦, the big size roof-tile). And Sangwa(常瓦, the ordinary size roof-tile) was used when needed. Also, Jungwa(中瓦, the middle size roof-tile) was used regardless of the size of group building. And Sowa(小瓦, the small size roof-tile) was used in house and wall of royal tomb. Third, it is needed to establish a specification of traditional handmade roof-tile based on the specification of watong through research of the litterateur. So, a standard draft for this was proposed. Finally, one can find the significance that this study has tried to find a specification of traditional roof-tile that can be applied to construction or repair of cultural heritage.

MPEG 4 Part 20 LASeR (ISO/IEC 14496 20) is a specification designed to deliver rich media services in a mobile environment. The specification is an emerging standard that can replace the MPEG 4 BIFS specification designed to deliver PC based heavyweight media contents. The specification describes the representation of scene information in a resource constrained mobile environment. Unlike the BIFS standard designed to deliver heavyweight rich media, the LASeR specification has a restricted description that conforms to the SVG Tiny 1.2 specification. Also, the specification has an advantage of allowing for the efficient conversion of one graphics format to another. In this paper, we present the design and the implementation of a LASeR authoring system that allows for fast and efficient creation of interactive rich media contents in a mobile environment. The Gill interface of the authoring system presented in this paper allows users, who do not have prior knowledge of the scene description language, to conveniently create contents and store the produced scenes using the internal list data structure. The system allows users to navigate scene objects internally stored and to create LASeR XML files in the structured XML format.

Purpose This research aims to study the changes in recruitment needed for the growth and survival of companies in the rapidly changing industry. In particular, we built a real company's worklist accounting for the rapidly advancing data-driven digital transformation, and presented the capabilities and conditions required for work. Design/methodology/approach we selected 37 jobs based on NCS to develop the employment search requirements by analyzing the business characteristics and work capabilities of the industry and company. The business specification indicators were converted into a matrix through the TF-IDF process, and the NMF algorithm is used to extract the features of each document. Also, the cosine distance measurement method is utilized to determine the similarity of the job specification conditions. Findings Companies tended to prefer "IT competency," which is a specification related to computer use and certification, and "experience competency," which is a specification for experience and internship. In addition, 'foreign language competency' was additionally preferred depending on the job. This analysis and development of job requirements would not only help companies to find the talents but also be useful for the jobseekers to easily decide the priority of their specification activities.

Traffic specification plays a crucial role in the resource reservation for video services over the packet-switching networks. The current development of QoS-guaranteed service still leaves a wide space for the selection of traffic specification. We propose a new method to estimate the traffic specification of variable-bit-rate (VBR) video for deterministic service. The method is based on the concept of empirical envelope and the delay bound. The solution shows to be simple yet it provides excellent network utilization.

ILSAC GF 3/API SL specification will be adopted in July 2001. The background and characteristics of GF3 specification is reviewed. GF3 specification consists of five new engine tests, two new bench tests and new limits on three bench tests currently used to define ILSAC GF-2. GF 3 engine oil shows good performance compared to GF2 engine oil in fuel efficiency, protecting ability the emission catalyst and high temperature oxidation stability.

More precise program slices could be obtained by considering the semantic relations between variables of interest, compared to the existing slicing techniques considering only the syntactic relations. In this paper, we present specification-based slicing that allows a better decomposition of the program by taking a specification as its slicing criterion. A specification-based slice consists of a subset of program statements which preserve the behavior and the correctness of the original Program with respect to a specification given by a pre-postcondition pair. Because specification-based slicing enables one to focus attention on only those program statements which realize the functional abstraction specified by the given specification, it can be widely used in many software engineering areas. Of its possible applications, we show how specification-based slicing can improve the Process for extracting reusable parts from existing programs and restructuring complex programs for better maintainability.
