오대산국립공원 소금강 계곡부 식물군집구조 (Plant Community Structure of the Soguemgang Valley in Odaesan National Park)

  • This study was carried out to the structure of plant community, and ecological succession sere of forest ecosystem in Soguemgang Valley, Odaesan National Park. Fifteenth plots(size is $20m{\times}20m$) were set up and the results analyzed by DCA which is one of the ordination technique showed that the plant communities were divided into seven groups which area community I(Quercus variabilis-Pinus densiflora community), II(Pinus densiflora community), III(Pinus densiflora-Quercus variabilis community), IV(Pinus densiflora-Quercus serrata community), V(Quercus serrata community), VI(Pinus densiflora-Deciduous broad-leaved plant community), VII(Cornus controversa-Carpinus laxiflora community). Shannon diversity index per $400m^2$ was to 0.7777 to 1.1440 and the age of Pinus densiflora 86 years old, Quercus variabilis was ranged from 66 to 87 years old, Quercus serrata was ranged from 51 to 62 years old, Carpinus laxiflora was 94 years old. In 2013, the succession trend was predicted Pinus densiflora${\rightarrow}$Quercus variabilis, Quercus serrata ${\rightarrow}$Cornus controversa, Carpinus laxiflora. The ecological sucession progress has declined power of the Pinus densiflora and the increased power of the deciduous broad-leaved and Quercus spp. in Soguemgang Valley, Odaesan National Park. Quercus serrata and Quercus variabilis communities that judged Pinus densiflora were progressing by direction of landform. The southern slopes vegetation were progressing for Quercus variabilis, the northern slopes vegetation were progressing for Quercus serrata. In flat Valley, mainly native species of Cornus controversa, Carpinus laxiflora are predicted ecological succession for deciduous broad-leaved tree community.

화전 후 묵밭의 식생 천이 진행에 따른 종조성의 변화 (Seral Changes in Floristic Composition during Abandoned Field Succession after Shifting Cultivation)

  • Seral changes in floristic composition during abandoned field succession after shifting cultivation was investigated in eastern Kangwon-Do, Korea. According to the DCA ordination based on the floristic composition, sere of the dominant species was shown as follows: Digitaria sanguinalis, Persicaria spp., Commelina communis etc. in the annual stage (0∼1 years); Erigeron spp., Artemisia spp., Rubus crataegus etc. in the Erigeron-Artemisia stage (2∼6 years); Pinus densiflora, Salix spp., Miscanthus sinensis, Arundinella hirta etc. in the shrub - earlier tree stage (10∼25 years); P. densiflora, Quercus mongolica, Spodiopogon sibiricus etc. in the mid-tree stage (25∼50 years); Q. mongolica, Tripterigium regelii, Lespedeza maximowiczii, Carex siderosticta etc. in the latter tree stage (50∼80 years). In mid-tree stage, size-frequency distribution of P. densiflora was plotted as a platycurtic curve and that of Q. mongolica as a reverse J-shaped curve, which meant P. densiflora was thinned through interspecific competition and Q. mongolica was regenerated by itself in the later tree stage.

아까시나무(Robinia pseudoacacia L.) 조림지(造林地)에서 천이(遷移)의 예측(豫測)과 조림학적(造林學的) 제어(制御) (Prediction of Succession and Silvicultural Control in the Black Locust(Robinia pseudoacacia L.) Plantation)

  • 아까시나무 조림지(造林地)의 천이(遷移)를 예측(豫測)하고 조림학적(造林學的) 제어(制御)에 필요한 삼림생태학적(森林生態學的) 자료(資料)를 얻기 위하여 아까시나무 조림지(造林地)의 식생단위(植生單位)를 구분(區分)하였고, 아끼시나무 조림지(造林地)에 출현(出現)한 주요(主要) 종(種)의 경쟁(競爭) 및 천이(遷移)를 분석(分析)하여 다음과 같은 결과(結果)를 얻었다. 아까시나무 조림지(造林地)의 식생(植生)은 I. 굴참나무군락(群落)(Quercus variabilis community), II. 며느리배꼽군락(群落)(Persicaria perfoliata community), III. 때죽나무군락(群落)(Styrax japonica community), IV. 깨풀군락(群落)(Acalypha australis community), V. 전형군락(典型群落)(Typical community)의 5개 군락(群落)으로 구분(區分)되었고, 이러한 군락수준(群落水準)의 식생단위(植生單位)는 군(群)(group) 또는 소군(小群)(subgroup)의 하급단위(下級單位)로 세분(細分)되었다. 식생단위별(植生單位別) 종다양도지수(種多樣度指數)는 식생단위(植生單位) 상호간(相互間)에 유의(有意)한 차이를 보였다. CCA법(法)에 의해 식분(植分)을 배열한 결과 1축상의 배열은 해발고, 모래함량, 미사함량 및 유효인함량과 2축상의 배열은 질소, 칼슘 및 칼륨함량과 유의한 관계를 나타내었다. 아까시나무 조림지(造林地)에 출현한 주요 종(種)의 경쟁상태(鏡爭狀態)와 천이경향(遷移傾向)을 분석(分析)한 결과(結果) 천이(遷移)의 진행(進行)에 따라 향토수종(鄕土樹種)인 참나무류(類), 단풍나무류(類), 벚나무류(類) 등이 혼재(混在)하는 숲으로 천이(遷移)가 진행(進行)될 것으로 예측(豫測)되었다.

  • The succession of marine benthic algae and the restoration of an artificial seaweed forest on a porous type (shaped half saw teeth) artificial reef at Jeju island, Korea was studied. Young thalli of Sargassum horneri and Ecklonia cava were attached to different artificial substrates. In general, the succession on the artificial reefs led from filamentous algae to perennial algae and involved more than 25 species that are useful fishery resources, including E. cava. Coralline algae were dominant on the artificial reefs at the Kangjung site. The maximum algal biomass on the artificial reef in October 2005 was $1,990g/m^2$ at Biyang. In conclusion, a climax community and seaweed forest can be attained one year after the substrate is constructed.

Studies on the Floristic Composition and Succession of the Shrub Communities at the Summit of Mt. Halla, Cheju Island, Korea

  • Empetrum nigrum dominant community or Rhododendron mucronulatum and R. yedoense var. poukhanense dominant shrub community are developing above l,500m on Mt. Halla in Cheju Island, Korea. These communities were formed as a result of the forest of Abies koreana regression by grazing or erosion over a long period of time. This study was conducted using the phytosociological method and it clarified the floristic composition of the community in Cheju Island by comparing with a similar community in Japan. Also this study interpreted the development data of these communities and considered community succession. As a result of our interpretation, shrub community of Cheju Island is recognized as two associations, Festuco obinae-Empetretum nigrum ass. nov and Rhododendretum mucronulatum ass. nov. Each association of Cheju Island is composed of endemic species of Cheju Island. related to the Korean peninsula and to Japan. The two associations are divided into 8 sub-units but each community development has been created with longtime grazing and prescribed fire. Maybe the location stability by stoppage of interference and grazing will process community transition Quickly. Comparing the shrub communities of Cheju Island with Maianthemo-Rhododendretum in Kyushu, Japan, which is close geographically, both areas have the species of Miscanthetea sinesis and Ericaceae in common. But Cheju Island has more abundant species and has higher ratio of appearance of alpine plants. The shrub communities of Cheju Island and Kyushu. Japan are identified as having a different rank over Alliance.

Succession and Stand Dimension Attributes of Pinus thunbergii Coastal Forests after Damage from Diplodia Tip Blight around the Sakurajima Volcano, Southern Kyushu, Japan

  • In this study, the succession and stand dimension attributes related to the disaster prevention function of Pinus thunbergii coastal forests were examined after damage from Diplodia tip blight. In 2015, 101 years after the Taisho eruption, field investigations were performed on the vegetation, soil thickness, and pH of surface soil of P. thunbergii coastal forests in western Sakurajima (Hakamagoshi plot) and Taisho lava flows in southeastern Sakurajima (Seto plot). The Hakamagoshi plot had more woody plant species with larger basal areas than that in the Seto plot. The mean age and height, maximal age and height of plant species, and H/D ratio were all larger in the Hakamagoshi plot than in the Seto plot. These results may be explained by the relatively smaller effect of volcanic ash and gas on forests in the Hakamagoshi plot compared to the Seto plot, resulting in a more suitable environment for many plant species. Although P. thunbergii coastal forests in Sakurajima are currently recovering from damages owing to Diplodia tip blight, there has not yet been a sufficient recovery compared to the results from a 1997 study. Furthermore, the results of assessment based on the H/D ratio and abundance of trees in P. thunbergii forests indicate that both regions are not yet effective in disaster prevention. Thus, it is necessary to establish Pinus trees, which can adjust to harsh environments like coastal areas and are resistant to volcanic ash and gas, to enhance the disaster prevention function of P. thunbergii coastal forests in volcanic regions. It may also be helpful to establish coastal forests with ectotrophic mycorrhizal fungi and organic matter coverage. Additionally, it is necessary to ensure the continuous maintenance of stand density and soil quality, and further develop efforts to prevent Diplodia tip blight and promote forest recovery.

설악산 국립공원 산림식생구조 - 신흥사~와선대지역 - (Plant Community Structure in the Sinhungsa - Wasondae Area, Soraksan National Park)

  • 설악산 국립공원 신흥사-와선대 지역의 산림군집구조를 분석하여 국립공원 관리를 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 60개의 조사구를 설정하였으며, DCA분석결과 소나무군집과 졸참나무군집으로 분리되었다. 소나무군집은 장기적으로 아교목층과 관목층에서 세력이 우세한 졸참나무로의 천이진행이 예상되었으며, 졸참나무군집은 대경목 위주인 소나무의 세력은 계속감소되고 졸참나무와 신갈나무를 중심으로 한 참나무류로 유지될 것으로 판단되었다. 소나무군집과 졸참나무군집에서 Shannon의 종다양도지수는 각각 1.2554, 1.1134, 조사구 100m$^{2}$당 종수는 7~26종, 평균종수는 13종 이었다.

광릉내 용암산 식물군집의 천이와 이질성 (Succession and Heterogeneity of Plant Community in Mt. Yongam, Kwangnung Experimental Forest)

  • In order to study the successional trend and the heterogeneity of forest community, we investigated DBH frequency distribution of dominant tree species and the changes of several community indicies including ${\beta}-diversity\;({\beta}_t)$ along a belt transect in Mt. Yongam, Kwangnung Experimental Forest, which has been preserved for about 530 years. Quercus serrata, Carpinus laxiflora, and C. cordata were the three dominant species and their DBH frequency distribution showed a reverse J-shaped form, so these species seem to maintain by themselves. Dominancediversity curve had a lognormal distribution. d and H'for pooled quadrats were 0.13 and 1.09, respectively, but these indices within each quadiat varied with the range of 0.13 to 0.57 and 0.5 to 1.09, respectively. The value of ${\beta}_t$ along the belt transect ranged from 0.14 to 0.42. These results suggest that this forest community is in the stable climax stage but the components experience a heterogeneous microsuccession.

대청댐 유역 굴참나무림의 군락분류학 및 군락생태학적 연구 (Syntaxonomy and Synecology of Quercus variabilis Forest in Daecheong-dam basin)

  • Syntaxonomy and Synecology on Quercus variabilis forests in Daecheong-dam basin was carried out using the methods of Braun-Blanquet phytosociology. 6 syntaxa classified as species compositions described were Quercus variabilis community, Platycarya strobilacea-Quercus variabilis community(typicum subcommunity, dictamnus dasycarpus subcommunity), Quercetum variabili-serratae, Zelkova serrata-Quercus variabilis community and Dendranthema boreale-Quercus variabilis community. All syntaxa were shown habitat environmental conditions including steep inclination of more than 30°, high rock exposure rate of more than 50% and South-facing slope. These communities excepting Dendranthema boreale-Quercus variabilis community classified as natural vegetation were identified as low emergence rate of annual plants and species compositions composed native species, so it was confirmed that relatively natural succession were proceeding well. Quercetum variabili-serratae and Dendranthema boreale-Quercus variabilis community distributed forested hillslope of open water edge were representative Quercus variabilis syntaxa in Daecheong-dam basin.

대구 인접 지역 삼림식생의 진행천이와 잠재자연식생 (Progressive Succession and Potential Natural Vegetation on the Forest Vegetation in and surrounding Daegu, Korea)

  • 대구 인접지역 삼림식생에 대한 진행천이의 메카니즘과 잠재자연식생을 추정하였다. DCA 에 의한 요인 분석에서는 해발 고도 및 습도구배에 따라 각 군락의 특성이 결정되는 것으로 나타났으며, 토양의 수분 함량과 유기물 함량 및 전질 소량은 군락이 발달함에 따라 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 종관 연관분석에서는 2개의 종집단으로 크게 구분되었으며, 이들 두 집단의 유형을 결정하는 요인은 기온 및 토양의 수분 요인으로 판단되었다. 특히, 두 종집단은 천이의 진행에 따라 종조성이 달라지는 군락의 발달단계를 보여주는 것으로 보이며, 생활형 조성도 이를 뒷받침하였다. 입지요인 및 종조성에 따라 소나무 군락, 굴참나무군락, 상수리나무군락 및 떡갈나무군락은 졸참나무군락이나 신갈나무군락으로 각각 천이가 진행될 것으로 예측되었다. 본 조사지역의 잠재자연식생은 종조성, 토양환경 및 지형요인에 의하여 산지 중 상부의 신갈나무군락, 계곡부의 고로쇠나무-까치박달군락, 산지 중 하부는 졸참나무군락 의 3개 유형으로 구분되었다. 그리고 신갈나무군락과 고로쇠나무-까치박탈군락은 현존 식생이면서 잠재자연식생이며, 소나무군락은 현재의 종조성 및 해발 영역을 토대로 신갈나무군락과 졸참나무군락으로 각각 발달할 것으로 예측되었다.
