The surface solar radiations were calculated and analyzed with spatial resolutions (4 km and 1 km) using by GWNU (Gangneung-Wonju National University) solar radiation model. The GWNU solar radiation model is used various data such as aerosol optical thickness, ozone amount, total precipitable water and cloud factor are retrieved from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MODIS), Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI), MTSAT-1R satellite data and output of the Regional Data Assimilation Prediction System(RDAPS) model by Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), respectively. The differences of spatial resolutions were analyzed with input data (especially, cloud factor from MTSAT-1R satellite). And the Maximum solar radiation by GWNU model were found in Andong, Daegu and Jinju regions and these results were corresponded with the MTSAT-1R cloud factor.

This paper presents new prediction methods to improve compression performance of the so-called near-lossless RGB-domain image coder, which is designed to effectively decrease the memory bandwidth of a system-on-chip (SoC) for image processing. First, variable block size (VBS)-based intra prediction is employed to eliminate spatial redundancy for the green (G) component of an input image on a pixel-line basis. Second, inter-color prediction (ICP) using spectral correlation is performed to predict the R and B components from the previously reconstructed G-component image. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm improves coding efficiency by up to 30% compared with an existing algorithm for natural images, and improves coding efficiency with low computational cost by about 50% for computer graphics (CG) images.
Meteorological data contains observation and numerical weather prediction model output data. The computerized analysis and visualization of meteorological data often requires very high computing capability due to the large size and complex structure of the data. Because the meteorological data is frequently formed in multi-variables, 3-dimensional and time-series form, it is very important to visualize and analyze the data in 3D spatial domain in order to get more understanding about the meteorological phenomena. In this research, we developed interactive 3-dimensional visualization techniques for visualizing meteorological data on a PC environment such as volume rendering, iso-surface rendering or stream line. The visualization techniques developed in this research are expected to be effectively used as basic technologies not only for deeper understanding and more exact prediction about meteorological environments but also for scientific and spatial data visualization research in any field from which three dimensional data comes out such as oceanography, earth science, and aeronautical engineering.
The purpose of the study is to establish models of land use prediction system for development and management of land resources using remotely sensed data as well as ancillary data in the context of multi-disciplinary approach in the application to CheJoo Island. The model adopts multi-date processing techniques and is a spatial/temporal land-use projection strategy emerged as a synthesis of the probability transition model and the discriminant-annlysis model. A discriminant model is applied to all pixels in CheJoo landscape plane to predict the most likely change in land use. The probability transition model provides the number of these pixels that will convert to different land use in a gives future time increment. The synthetic model predicts the future change in land use and its volume of pixels in the landscape plane.

In this paper, machine learning models were applied to predict the seismic response of steel frame structures. Both geometric and material nonlinearities were considered in the structural analysis, and nonlinear inelastic dynamic analysis was performed. The ground acceleration response of the El Centro earthquake was applied to obtain the displacement of the top floor, which was used as the dataset for the machine learning methods. Learning was performed using two methods: Decision Tree and Random Forest, and their efficiency was demonstrated through application to 2-story and 6-story 3-D steel frame structure examples.

GSIS(geo-spatial information system), particularly when utilized in hazard management decision, is one of hazard analysis tool. Data of GSIS input from digitizing or scanning of map or aerial photos. This paper focuses upon the hazard prediction in GSIS and RS analysis to assess map, aerialphotos, satellite imagery and soil map. This study found computation of hazard area analysis. the results is formed as raster data model of quadtree. Authors knew more accurate results of overlay. This paper shows building up integrated data base as well as search of hazard area in aerial photographs.

Predicting human mobility has always been an important task in Location-based Social Network. Previous efforts fail to capture spatial dependence effectively, mainly reflected in weakening the location topology information. In this paper, we propose a neural network-based method which can capture spatial-temporal dependence to predict the next location of a person. Specifically, we involve a graph convolutional network (GCN) based on a seq2seq framework to capture the location topology information and temporal dependence, respectively. The encoder of the seq2seq framework first generates the hidden state and cell state of the historical trajectories. The GCN is then used to generate graph embeddings of the location topology graph. Finally, we predict future trajectories by aggregated temporal dependence and graph embeddings in the decoder. For evaluation, we leverage two real-world datasets, Foursquare and Gowalla. The experimental results demonstrate that our model has a better performance than the compared models.

In many applications, received signal strength indicator is used for location tracking and sensor nodes localization. For location finding, the distances between sensor nodes can be estimated by converting received signal's power into distance using path loss prediction model. Many researches have done the analysis of power-distance relationship for radio channel characterization. In indoor environment, the general conclusion is the non-linear variation of RSSI values as distance varied linearly. This has been one of the difficulties for indoor localization. This paper presents works on indoor RSSI characterization based on statistical methods to find the overall trend of RSSI variation at different places and times within the same room From experiments, it has been shown that the variation of RSSI values can be determined by both spatial and temporal factors. This two factors are directly indicated by the two main parameters of path loss prediction model. The results show that all sensor nodes which are located at different places share the same characterization value for the temporal parameter whereas different values for the spatial parameters. Using this relationship, the characterization for location estimation can be more efficient and accurate.
In this paper, we suggest a spatial regression model to predict AADT. Although Euclidian distances between one monitoring site and its neighboring sites were usually used in the many analysis, we consider the shortest travel path between monitoring sites to predict AADT for unmonitoring site using spatial regression model. We used universal Kriging method for prediction and found that the overall predictive capability of the spatial regression model based on shortest travel path is better than that of the model based on multiple regression by cross validation.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is anticipated to be the future of technology. Hence, AI has been applied in various fields over the years and its applications are expected to grow in number with the passage of time. There has been a growing need for accurate, direct, and quick prediction of geotechnical and foundation engineering models especially since the success of each project relies on numerous amounts of data. In this study, two applications of AI in the field of geotechnical and foundation engineering are presented - spatial interpolation of standard penetration test (SPT) data and prediction of consolidation of clay. SPT and soil profile data may be predicted and estimated at any location and depth at a site that has no available borehole test data using artificial intelligence techniques such as artificial neural networks (ANN) based on available geospatial information from nearby boreholes. ANN can also be used to accelerate the calculation of various theoretical methods such as the one-dimensional consolidation theory of clay with high efficiency by using lesser computation resources. The results of the study showed that ANN can be a valuable, powerful, and practical tool in providing various information that is needed in geotechnical and foundation design.
