  • Recently, the concern of IT-in-Agriculture convergence technology that combines information technology and agriculture is increasing rapidly. Especially, the crop cultivation related prediction services by spatial data mining (SDM) can play an important role in reducing the damage of natural disaster and enhancing crop productivity. However, the data conversion and integration procedure to acquire the learning dataset of SDM for the prediction service need a lot of effort and time, because of their heterogeneity between distributed data. In addition, calculating spatial neighborhood relationships between spatial and non-spatial data necessitates requires the complicated calculation procedure for large dataset. In this paper, we suggest a SOA-based data integration framework that can effectively integrate distributed heterogeneous data by treating each data source as a service unit and support to find the optimal prediction service by improving productivity of learning dataset for SDM. In our experiment, we confirmed that our framework can be effectively applied to find the optimal prediction service for the frost damage area, by considering the case of peach crop cultivation in Icheon in Korea.

  • Lots of application systems are developed for applying business GIS in marketing or strategic planning of the company, recently. Almost of the systems require statistics for some areas(trade areas or sales areas) as the important information of decision support. As far as now, trade areas are defined for individual stores using know-how of the specialists, but there is no well-defined method for defining of trade areas of the specific business domains or trade areas of the customers. In this study, we have applied the spatial data mining methods to the point features in GIS, evaluated the results of each methods, and discussed the feasibility of defining of trade areas. From the results of this study, we have concluded that the defining of trade areas from point features, such as franchisees of credit card company or memberships of retail chain store, and that the DENCLUE(DENsity-based CLUstEring) method is the best suitable spatial data mining algorithm for this purpose.

  • Spatiotemporal data mining represents the confluence of several fields including spatiotemporal databases, machine loaming, statistics, geographic visualization, and information theory. Exploration of spatial data mining and temporal data mining has received much attention independently in knowledge discovery in databases and data mining research community. In this paper, we introduce an algorithm Max_MOP for discovering moving sequences in mobile environment. Max_MOP mines only maximal frequent moving patterns. We exploit the characteristic of the problem domain, which is the spatiotemporal proximity between activities, to partition the spatiotemporal space. The task of finding moving sequences is to consider all temporally ordered combination of associations, which requires an intensive computation. However, exploiting the spatiotemporal proximity characteristic makes this task more cornputationally feasible. Our proposed technique is applicable to location-based services such as traffic service, tourist service, and location-aware advertising service.

  • Recently, the study about the technology which effectively manage spatial information is actively conducted. For the effective knowledge inquiry, various extended data mining methods are applied in spatial data mining. However, former spatial association rule system appears the problem that does not reflect various non-spatial property along the inquiries because it searches the rule from the calculation among predicates. To resolve the problem, present study suggests the system that extends the inquiries using in spatial database, searches the association rule among non-spatial object property after setting the data based on space information. Especially, the model which is applicable to geographical information system is embodied. Embodied system with this method enables to search more useful spatial association rule in real life since it shows high migration property with extended spatial database and considers spatial property and various non-spatial property.

  • Spatial information systems have developed in order to provide users with customized land information in u-City environments. The spatial information systems can detect spatial information for users anytime anywhere. Information which is analyzed by data mining techniques can be offered for other users. Therefore, we propose open map API-based prototype which utilizes frequent pattern mining technique. Proposed prototype can mine interesting trip routes and unknown attractions in location data of geophoto. Also, proposed prototype is the first attempt which analyzes spatial patterns can be represented on a map which is selected by users. Our prototype can be applied to the smart phone like mobile devices.

  • For multi-mode radar signals in complex electromagnetic environment, different modes of one emitter tend to be deinterleaved into several emitters, called as "extension", when processing received signals by use of existing sorting methods. The "extension" problem inevitably deteriorates the sorting performance of multi-mode radar signals. In this paper, a novel method based on spatial data mining is presented to address above challenge. Based on theories of data field, we describe the distribution information of feature parameters using potential field, and makes partition clustering of parameter samples according to revealed distribution features. Additionally, an evaluation criterion based on cloud model membership is established to measure the relevance between different cluster-classes, which provides important spatial knowledge for the solution of the "extension" problem. It is shown through numerical simulations that the proposed method is effective on solving the "extension" problem in multi-mode radar signal sorting, and can achieve higher correct sorting rate.

  • Spatio-temporal patterns extracted from historical trajectories of moving objects reveal important knowledge about movement behavior for high quality LBS services. Existing approaches transform trajectories into sequences of location symbols and derive frequent subsequences by applying conventional sequential pattern mining algorithms. However, spatio-temporal correlations may be lost due to the inappropriate approximations of spatial and temporal properties. In this paper, we address the problem of mining spatio-temporal patterns from trajectory data. The inefficient description of temporal information decreases the mining efficiency and the interpretability of the patterns. We provide a formal statement of efficient representation of spatio-temporal movements and propose a new approach to discover spatio-temporal patterns in trajectory data. The proposed method first finds meaningful spatio-temporal regions and extracts frequent spatio-temporal patterns based on a prefix-projection approach from the sequences of these regions. We experimentally analyze that the proposed method improves mining performance and derives more intuitive patterns.

  • LBS(Location Based Services) provide the location-based information to its mobile users. The primary functionality of these services is to provide useful information to its users at a minimum cost of resources. The functionality can be implemented through data mining techniques. However, conventional data mining researches have not been considered spatial and temporal aspects of data simultaneously. Therefore, these techniques are inappropriate to apply on the objects of LBS, which change spatial attributes over time. In this paper, we propose a new data mining technique for identifying the temporal patterns from the series of the locations of moving objects that have both temporal and spatial dimension. We use a spatial operation of contains to generalize the location of moving point and apply time constraints between the locations of a moving object to make a valid moving sequence. Finally, the spatio-temporal technique proposed in this paper is very practical approach in not only providing more useful knowledge to LBS, but also improving the quality of the services.

  • Recently many LBS(Location Based Service) systems are issued in mobile computing systems. Spatial-Temporal Moving Sequence Pattern Mining is a new mining method that mines user moving patterns from user moving path histories in a sensor network environment. The frequent pattern mining is related to the items which customers buy. But on the other hand, our mining method concerns users' moving sequence paths. In this paper, we consider the sequence of moving paths so we handle the repetition of moving paths. Also, we consider the duration that user spends on the location. We proposed new Apriori_msp based on the Apriori algorithm and evaluated its performance results.
