공간결합기를 활용한 Ka대역 100W급 SSPA 설계 및 제작 (Design and fabrication of Ka-band 100W SSPA using spatial combiner)

  • 본 논문에서는 10W급 MMIC를 결합하여 20W급으로 상향시킨 단위 전력 증폭기를 8-way 공간결합기와 결합하여 100W급 SSPA를 제작하는 연구를 진행하였다. SSPA는 TWTA에 비해 상대적으로 낮은 단일 소자의 출력으로 높은 출력을 충족하기 위해 저손실, 고효율의 결합 기술을 필요로 한다. 본 논문에서 설계 및 제작된 SSPA는 20dB 이상의 반사 손실과 94% 이상의 우수한 결합효율을 갖는 8-way 공간결합기에 20W급 고출력증폭모듈 8대를 장착하여 100W급 SSPA로 제작되었다. -10dBm 인가시 20kHz 20%에서 112.2~169.8W, 400kHz 40%에서 125.9~173.8W, 800kHz 40%에서 117.5~162.2W로 나타나 PRF 3가지 조건에서 모두 이득 60dB 이상과 100W 이상의 성능을 보였다.

  • 파장변이섬유를 사용한 새로운 반응 위치 측정 양전자방출 단층촬영기기 검출기를 개발하였으며, 이에 대한 최적화 작업을 수행하였다. 섬광체 2개와 파장변이섬유 3개를 사용하고, 파장변이섬유 끝에 센서를 부착하여 최적화 모듈을 설계하였다. 섬광체와 파장변이섬유 및 센서를 연결시키는 연결물질과 섬광체와 파장변이섬유의 반사체 물질에 따른 센서에서의 빛 수집율 및 센서별 빛 수집 비를 통해 최적의 조합을 도출하였다. 연결물질은 에폭시를 사용하고 반사체 물질은 섬광체와 파장변이섬유에서 각각 난반사체 및 거울반사체를 사용한 조합에서, 가장 높은 빛 수집율과 센서별 빛 수집 비를 보였다.

양 단면 반사율과 위상 조정 영역의 위상이 다중 영역 Index-Coupled DFB 레이저의 수율 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Reflectivity of Both Facets and the Phase of a Phase Tuning Section on the Yield Characteristics of a Multisection Index-Coupled DFB Laser)

  • 양 단면 반사율과 단면 회절격자 위상, 위상 조정 영역의 위상이 두 개의 DFB 영역과, 가운데 위상 조정 영역을 가진 다중 영역 Index-Coupled DFB 레이저의 Self-Pulsation동작 특성에 미치는 영향을 수율 관점에서 살펴보았다. 결합세기가 작을수록 양 단면 반사율이 증가할 때 양 단면과 다른 DFB 영역에서 반사되는 필드가 모드의 특성에 미치는 영향이 커져 양 단면 회절격자 위상 변화에 따른 발진 모드의 호핑이 많이 발생하고 수율이 감소한다. 결합세기가 클수록 양 단면 반사율이 증가하여도 양 단면과 다른 DFB 영역에서 반사되는 필드가 모드의 특성에 미치는 영향이 작아 양 단면 회절격자 위상 변화에 따른 모드의 호핑은 적게 발생하나 Spatial Hole Burning 효과가 증가하여 수율이 감소하는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 결합세기에 상관없이 단면 반사율이 증가할수록 최대 수율과 수율이 40% 이상 되는 위상 조정 영역의 위상 범위가 감소함을 볼 수 있었다. 또한 결합세기가 클수록 위상 조정 영역의 위상 변화에 따른 수율의 변화가 커지고 단면 반사율의 변화에 따른 최대 수율을 주는 위상 조정 영역의 위상 값의 변화가 작음을 볼 수 있었다. 결합세기가 2와 3일 경우가 1.2와 4인 경우에 비하여 수율 특성이 좋음을 볼 수 있었다.

A Study on Ultrasonic Evaluation of Material Defects in Carbon/carbon Composites

  • It is desirable to perform nondestructive evaluation to assess material properties and part homogeneity because manufacturing of carbon/carbon (C/C) composites requires complicated and costly processes. In this work several ultrasonic techniques were applied to carbon/carbon composites for the evaluation of spatial variations in material properties that are attributable to the manufacturing process. In a large carbon/carbon composite manufactured by chemical vapor infiltration (CVI) method, the spatial variation of ultrasonic velocity was measured and found to be consistent with the densification behavior in CVI process in order to increase the density of C/C composites. Ultrasonic velocity and attenuation depend on a density variation of materials. Low frequency through-transmission scans based on both amplitude and time-of-flight of the ultrasonic pulse were used for mapping out the material property inhomogeneity These results were compared with that obtained by dry-coupling ultrasonics. Pulse-echo C-scans was used to image near-surface material property anomalies such as the placement of spacers between disks during CVI. Also, optical micrograph had been examined on the surface of C/C composites using a destructive way.

Data Exchange between Cadastre and Physical Planning by Database Coupling

  • The information in physical planning field shows the socio-economic potentials of land resources while cadastral data does the physical and legal realities of the land. The two domains commonly deal with land information but have different views. Cadastre has to evolved to the multi-purpose ones which provide value-added information and support a wide spectrum of decision makers by mixing their own information with other spatial/non-spatial databases. In this context, the demands of data exchange between the two domains is growing up but this cannot be done without resolving the heterogeneity between the two information applications. Both of either discipline sees the reality within its own scope, which means each has a unique way to abstract real world phenomena to the database. The heterogeneity problem emerges when an GIS is autonomously and independently established. It causes considerable communication difficulties since heterogeneity of representations forms unique data semantics for each database. The semantic heterogeneity obviously creates an obstacle to data exchange but, at the same time, it can be a key to solve the problems too. Therefore, the study focuses on facilitating data sharing between the fields of cadastre and physical planning by resolving the semantic heterogeneity. The core job is developing a conversion mechanism of cadastral data into the information for the physical planning by DB coupling techniques.

스마트 연결 제어 시스템과 연결 구조물의 통합 최적 설계 (Integrated Optimal Design of Smart Connective Control System and Connected Buildings)

  • A smart connective control system was invented recently for coupling control of adjacent buildings. Previous studies on this topic focused on development of control algorithm for the smart connective control system and design method of control device. Usually, a smart control devices are applied to building structures after structural design. However, because structural characteristics of building structure with control devices changes, a iterative design is required for optimal design. To defeat this problem, an integrated optimal design method for a smart connective control system and connected buildings was proposed. For this purpose, an artificial seismic load was generated for control performance evaluation of the smart coupling control system. 20-story and 12-story adjacent buildings were used as example structures and an MR (magnetorheological) damper was used as a smart control device to connect adjacent two buildings. NSGA-II was used for multi-objective integrated optimization of structure-smart control device. Numerical simulation results show the integrated optimal design method proposed in this study can provide various optimal designs for smart connective control system and connected buildings presenting good control performance.

  • 위성발사체에 심각한 진동하중을 발생시키는 버펫 현상을 해석하기 위하여, CFD 해석과 반경험식을 결합하여 천음속 영역 해머헤드 발사체에서 발생할 수 있는 압력섭동을 예측하였다. RANS 해석을 수행하여 충격파 진동 영역, 박리영역, 박리 재부착 지점 등을 확인하였으며, 경계층 두께, 배제 두께, 경계층 끝단에서의 유동 정보를 계산하였다. RANS 결과와 공간 분포를 고려한 반경험식을 결합하여 해머헤드 페어링 주위의 압력 섭동과 파워스펙트럼을 예측하였고 시험 결과와 비교하였다.

회절격자 주기의 랜덤 변이가 DFB 레이저 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Random Fluctuation in Grating Period on the Characteristics of DFB Lasers)

  • 회절격자 주기의 랜덤 변이가 DFB 레이저의 특성에 미치는 영향을 유효 굴절률 전달 매트릭스 방법을 이용하여 해석하였다. 레이저의 양 거울면은 완전 무반사 처리되었다고 가정하였으며, 회절격자 주기의 변이는 Gaussian 랜덤 변수로 표현하였다. 회절격자 주기의 랜덤 변이는 균일 회절격자 DFB 레이저와 QWS-DFB 레이저 스펙트럼의 대칭성을 깨뜨리고 유효 결합계수를 감소시킨다. 이에 따라 균일 회절격자 DFB 레이저에서는 ${\pm}$1모드 거울면 손실의 평균값이 증가하고 금지 대역폭이 감소하며, QWS-DFB 레이저에서는 단일모드 안정성과 파장 정확도가 저하된다. QWS-DFB 레이저의 거울면 손실 차이는 결합계수에 관계없이 회절격자 주기의 랜덤 변이가 카짐에 따라 감소하고, spatial hole-burning 효과는 정규화된 결합계수가 1.5보다 클 때에는 주는 데 반하여 작을 때에는 커진다.

Spatial Characteristics and Driving Forces of Cultivated Land Changes by Coupling Spatial Autocorrelation Model and Spatial-temporal Big Data

  • With the rapid development of information technology, it is now possible to analyze the spatial patterns of cultivated land and its evolution by combining GIS, geostatistical analysis models and spatiotemporal big data for the dynamic monitoring and management of cultivated land resources. The spatial pattern of cultivated land and its evolutionary patterns in Luoyang City, China from 2009 to 2019 were analyzed using spatial autocorrelation and spatial autoregressive models on the basis of GIS technology. It was found that: (1) the area of cultivated land in Luoyang decreased then increased between 2009 and 2019, with an overall increase of 0.43% in 2019 compared to 2009, with cultivated land being dominant in the overall landscape of Luoyang; (2) cultivated land holdings in Luoyang are highly spatially autocorrelated, with the 'high-high'-type area being concentrated in the border area directly north and northeast of Luoyang, while the 'low-low'-type area is concentrated in the south and in the municipal area of Luoyang, and being heavily influenced by topography and urbanization. The expansion determined during the study period mainly took place in the Luoyang City, with most of it being transferred from the 'high-low'-type area; (3) elevation, slope and industrial output values from analysis of the bivariate spatial autocorrelation and spatial autoregressive models of the drivers all had significant effects on the amount of cultivated land holdings, with elevation having a positive effect, and slope and industrial output having a negative effect.

Case study of random vibration analysis of train-bridge systems subjected to wind loads

  • In order to reveal the independent relationship between track irregularity and wind loads, the stochastic characteristics of train-bridge coupling systems subjected to wind loads were investigated by the multi-sample calculation. The vehicle was selected as 23 degrees of freedom dynamical model, and the bridge was described by three-dimensional finite element model. It was assumed that the wind loads were random processes with strong spatial correlation, while the track irregularities were stationary random ones. As a case study, a high-speed train running on a cable-stayed bridge subjected to wind loads was studied. The effect of rail irregularities was deemed to be independent of the effect of wind excitations on the coupling system in the same wind circumstance for the same project, leading to the conclusion that the effect of wind loads and moving vehicle could be calculated separately. The variance results of the stochastic responses of vehicle-bridge coupling system under the action of wind loads and rail irregularities together were equivalent to the sum of the variance of the responses induced by each excitation. Therefore, when one of the input excitations is different, only the effect of changed loads needs to be assessed. Moreover, the new calculated results were combined with the effect of unchanged loads to present the stochastic response of coupling system subjected to the different excitations, reducing the cost of computations. The stochastic characteristics, the CFD (cumulative distribution function) of the coupling system with different wind velocities, vehicle speed, and vehicle marshalling were studied likewise.
