해양공간이용구조물의 응답제어 (Control of Dynamic Reaponses of Huge Structures for Ocean Space Utilization in Waves)

  • A numerical procedure is described for predicting the dynamic responses of combined systems of floating breakwaters and huge offshore structures supported by a large numer of the floating bodies in waves. The hydrodynamic interactins among tatal floating bodies are taken into account in their exact form within the context of linear potential theory. Wave control effects are discussed with both hydrodynamic interactions and hydrodynamic-structure interaction effects. The method presented is applicalbe to combined systems of floating breakwaters and huge structures for ocean space utilization for which a number of practical uses are seen in the future.

  • Generally, space structures are subjected to severe situations, such as, sublimation, strong evaporation of lubricants, thermal stresses, high temperature gradients, irradiation, impacts by microscopic meteorites, and other factors. Recent]y, various kinds of coatings are applied to the parts under heavy contact stresses, in order to insure long wear-free lives and/or reduce friction coefficients. In space structures, molybdenum disulfide is using frequently. Moreover TiN, Al$_2$O$_3$, PTFE(Poly Tetra Fluor Ethylene) are introduced recently for space structure. In this part we are going to apply the partial model method, developed in reference[11] to analyze part with coated layer. In referencer[l1], we compute the reasonable size of partial model and aspect ratio. Using these data, we analyze the structures coated with TiN, Al$_2$O$_3$, PTFE under contact load, temperature and crack model . Beside, we consider the stress analysis under time dependent load and transient thermal effect.

Discrete Optimum Design of Space Truss Structures Using Genetic Algorithms

  • The objective of this study is the development of discrete optimum design algorithms which is based on the genetic algorithms. The developed algorithms was implemented in a computer program. For the optimum design, the objective function is the weight of space trusses structures and the constraints are stresses and displacements. This study solves the problem by introducing the genetic algorithms. The genetic algorithms consists of genetic process and evolutionary process. The genetic process selects the next design points based on the survivability of the current design points. The evolutionary process evaluates the survivability of the design points selected from the genetic process. The efficiency and validity of the developed discrete optimum design algorithms was verified by applying the algorithms to optimum design examples.

  • The development of contemporary spatial structures for long-span roofs in China was initiated in the 19505. Space trusses, reticulated shells and cable suspended structures have been developing rapidly since 1980s. Recently there has been a growing interest in tensile membrane structures. Comprehensive theoretical study has been carried out parallel to the engineering application, which provided necessary theoretical support to the development of different types of spatial structures.

A New Approach to Obtain Correct and Simplified Equation Applied to Inner Space Assessment for Capsule-like Superstructures

  • Polypyrrole-Gold (PPy/Au) segment nanowires are prepared using anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) templates and assembled into a curved superstructure. Since the shape of the obtained superstructures can be designed to be capsule-like with inner space for containing materials, and their openings and closures can be controlled with external stimuli, these structures can be useful for a large variety of applications. Inner space of capsule-like superstructures is an important factor for their applications, and the volume of the inner space can be assessed using the generalized equation suggested by J. K. Lim (Bull. Korean Chem. Soc. 33, 2699 (2012)). In this paper, we introduce a new approach to obtain correct and simplified equation without redundant assumption which was used to induce the previous equations, and recalculate the volume of the inner space in the capsule-like superstructure using a new equation.

  • Tunnel portals are often located in areas where the risk of rock fall and/or detachement of rock fragments from rocky slopes is high. In this case it is necessary to design the portals so as to protect the road (i.e. using an artificial tunnel) or to instal structures that are able to intercept falling blocks on the slope. This paper deals with the design problems of these structures and includes a special analysis of net fences which have undergone a remarkable technological improvement over recent years.

Mechanism and Behavior Characteristic of Space Truss Unit for Post-tensioning

  • This paper presents the results of a post-tensioning test and analysis of a pyramidal unit structure that is basic element for space structures. The behavior characteristics was analyzed and compared with the numerical analysis and the mechanism in test model was confirmed with geometrical analysis. The results of this paper show that the behaviors of space structures can be predicted in multi-directional Mero joint system. And the authors suggest the possibility of erection and shaping formation with comparatively small post-tensioning, and space structure with the mechanism should consider the nonlinear behavior due to large deformation.

  • The recent change of the medical treatment market is reforming the hospital space. The death-rate caused by cancer diseases is increasing in the domestic and outside of the country. The specialized hospital for cancer patients must be required. This study analyzed the space structures of the main section in cancer hospitals with the comparison analysis method. Space structures of domestic cancer hospitals are not specialized comparing to other nations' cancer hospitals. The conclusion of this research is that we need the architectural planning standards of the specialized cancer hospital through the space structure mainly concerning patients.
