A Rapid and Practical Protocol for Solvent-Free Reduction of Oximes to Amines with NaBH4/ZrCl4/Al2O3 System

  • Solvent-free reduction of various aldoximes and ketoximes to the corresponding amines was performed easily and efficiently with $NaBH_4$ in the presence of $ZrCl_4$ supported on $Al_2O_3$. The reactions were carried out rapidly (within 2 min) at room temperature to afford the amines in high to excellent yields.

  • Solvent-free conversion of various epoxides to their corresponding $\beta$-hydroxy thiocyanates was carried out successfully with $NH_4SCN$/zeolite molecular sieve $4{\AA}$ system at room temperature. The reactions were completed within 2 - 7 min to give thiocyanohydrins with perfect regioselectivity and isolated yields. Moreover, the zeolite can be reused for several times without losing its activity.

  • An efficient and environmentally benign protocol for the three-component synthesis of triazoloindazoles and indazolophthalazines via condensation of dimedone, aldehydes and urazole or phthalhydrazide catalyzed by $ZrOCl_2.8H_2O$ as an inexpensive and eco-friendly catalyst with high catalytic activity under solvent-free conditions is reported. This protocol provides a new and improved method for obtaining triazoloindazoles and indazolophthalazines in terms of good yields, simple experimental procedure and short reaction time.

  • A facile and simple procedure for the synthesis of novel and known calix[4]resorcinarene derivatives were developed via a reaction of arylaldehydes with resorcinol in the presence of catalytic amounts of tungstate sulfuric acid (TSA) under solvent-free conditions. This eco-friendly method has many appealing attributes, such as excellent yields, short reactions times, use of safe and recoverable catalyst, and simple work-up procedures. TSA was characterized by powdered X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and FTIR spectroscopy.

  • Atom-economical esterification is of great importance in green chemistry. In this work, we demonstrated the catalyst and additive free esterification of alcohols by their reaction with 2-acyl-4,5-dichloropyridazin-3(2H)-ones without solvent at $100^{\circ}C$. Aliphatic and aromatic alcohols were converted into the corresponding esters in good to excellent yields. It is noteworthy that the reaction is solvent-free, atom-economic, easy-workup, and rapid and that the process is inexpensive.

  • An efficient method for the preparation of 8-benzylidene-4-phenyl-3,4,5,6,7,8-hexahydro-1H-quinazolin-2-ones/thiones from the reaction of aromatic aldehydes with cyclohexanone and urea or thiourea in the presence of Tetrabutylammonium hexatungstate, $[TBA]_2[W_6O_{19}]$, as an efficient, inexpensive catalyst under thermal and solvent-free conditions has been developed. Good yields, short reaction times, straightforward workup, reusability of the catalyst, and green conditions are the most obvious advantages of this procedure.

  • A simple, convenient and practical green synthetic protocol for sodium bisulfite catalyzed multicomponent reaction of ethyl acetoacetate, hydrazine hydrate, malononitrile, and various aldehydes for the synthesis of 6-amino-4-phenyl-3-methyl-2,4-ihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole-5-carbonitriles using ultrasound irradiations in solvent free condition. This method provides the advantage of operational simplicity, shorter reaction time and excellent yields making the protocol environment friendly and economically lucrative.

  • An efficient and environmentally benign protocol for the pseudo four-component synthesis of benzopyranopyrimidines via condensation of salicylic aldehydes, malononitrile and various amines catalyzed by $ZrOCl_2{\cdot}8H_2O$ as an inexpensive and eco-friendly catalyst with high catalytic activity under solvent-free conditions is reported. This protocol provides a new and improved method for obtaining benzopyranopyrimidines in terms of good yields, simple experimental procedure and short reaction time.

  • The purpose of this paper is to design a hydraulic actuator to operate under high pressure conditions. The flow characteristics under design conditions of hydraulic actuator were numerically conducted by commercial fluid dynamic code(ANSYS CFX V11). The numerical analysis was performed by transient technique according to the variation of stroke times, which was changed from 0 to 1 second by interval of 0.01. Turbulence model, $k-\omega$ SST was selected to secure more accurate prediction of hydraulic oil flow. The ICEM-CFD 11 and CFXMesher, reliable grid generation software was also adapted to secure high quality grid necessary for the reliable analysis. According to the simulation results, the flow rate which was supplied to the hydraulic actuator was 30.4l/min. These results are in good agreement with design results within 3.5% error.
