Solvent-Free Michael Addition Between EMME and Secondary Amine under Focused Microwave Irradiation

  • Microwave-assisted Michael reaction between EMME and various amines such as diphenylamine, 4-methyl-N-phenylbenzenamine, N-phenylnaphthalen-1-amine, dihexylamine, diisopropylamine, and 4-nitrobenzenamine were described. Solvent-free conditions on alumina as solid support in the presence of $K_2CO_3$ catalysts gave moderate to good yields (55 - 93%) of diethylmalonate analogues having enamine moieties under focused microwave irradiation.

Solvent Free Microwave Accelerated Synthesis of Heterocyclic Thiazolidin-4-ones as Antimicrobial and Antifungal Agents

  • A simple and efficient method has been developed for conversion of arenecarbaldehyde-3-methylquinoxalin-2-ylhydrazones to 3-(2-methylquinoxalin-3-yl)-2-(substitutedphenyl)thiazolidin-4-ones in good yields using microwave irradiation technique on silica as solid support under solvent free conditions. The synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental microanalysis, infrared spectroscopy, $^1H$ NMR, and mass spectroscopy. All the synthesized thiazolidinones were investigated for their antimicrobial and antifungal activities. The results of the biological activities revealed that the compounds 3b, 3d, 3f and 3h exhibited excellent antibacterial activities while 3d and 3h exhibited good antifungal activity.

  • (Pyridine)(tetrahydroborato)zinc complex, $[Zn(BH_4)_2(py)]$, as a stable white solid, was prepared quantitatively by complexation of an equimolar amount of zinc tetrahydroborate and pyridine at room temperature. This reagent can easily reduce variety of carbonyl compounds such as aldehydes, ketones, acyloins, α-diketones and a, β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds to their corresponding alcohols in good to excellent yields. Reduction reactions were performed in ether or THF at room temperature or under reflux conditions. In addition, the chemoselective reduction of aldehydes over ketones was accomplished successfully with this reducing agent.

  • A convenient and efficient method has been developed for the one-pot synthesis of dihydropyrimidinones (DHPMs) compounds. Dihydropyrimidinone derivatives were synthesized in good yields using ethyl acetoacetate, aldehyde (aromatic and aliphatic) and urea or thiourea in the presence of ZnO nanoparticles as a catalyst in $H_2O$ as solvent at $80^{\circ}C$. This green chemistry procedure applied to the Biginelli reaction using ZnO nanoparticles as catalyst and illustrated as a rapid preparation of DHPMs in water as solvent. The products were identified by physical data (mp) by comparison with those reported in the literatures.

Interlamellar Silylation of Montmorillonite with 3-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane

  • H-montmorillonite was modified by interlayer surface silylation using 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane and dodecylamine in ethanol without a pre-swelling step. Dodecylamine acts as a gallery expander and silylation catalyst. The evaporation of ethanol from the dispersion yields well-ordered silylated montmorillonites with large basal spacing between 1.50 and 4.20 nm. Solid-state $^29Si$ CP MAS NMR of the silylated samples showed $Q^2\;and\;Q^3$ signals as well as $T^2\;and\;T^3$ signals. The increase in the relative intensity of $Q^3\;for\;Q^2$ and the appearance of $T^2\;and\;T^3$ signals was attributed to the grafting of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane to the interlayer surface silanol groups.

  • Nitrosative modifications regulate cellular signal transduction and pathogenesis of inflammatory responses and neuro-degenerative diseases. Protein tyrosine nitration is a biomarker of oxidative stress and also influences protein structure and function. Recent advances in mass spectrometry have made it possible to identify modified proteins and specific modified amino acid residues. For analysis of nitrated peptides with low yields or only a subset of peptides, affinity 'tags' can be bait for 'fishing out' target analytes from complex mixtures. These tagged peptides are then extracted to a solid phase, followed by mass analysis. In this review, we focus on protein tyrosine modifications caused by nitrosative stresses and proteomic methods for selective enrichment and identification of nitrosative protein modifications.

다시마 열수 추출물의 한외 여과에 의한 분리 (Studies on the Separation of Hot Water Extract Seasoning Components from Sea Tangle by Using Ultrafiltration)

  • The dried sea tangle added for soup prepatation to improved the taste in Korean and Japaness for long time. Attempts were made to develop the best procedures for extraction and removal of alginate by ultrafiltration and diafiltration. The summerized results of this study are as follows: 1) For hot water extraction in temperature range of 60~100$^{\circ}C$ for 4 hours, the higher temperature resulted higher yields in solids and protein. 2) Optimum sea tangle hot water extraction condition were 60~65$^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour which was cheap operating cost and high yield of good taste components. 3) The membrane flux was more higher GR 51 PP. and increase of flow rate permeate flow rate was accordingly increased. but limiting flow volume was 3.7 l/min. 4) It was found that ultration was relatively of higher recovery rate, solid and taste components, and low rejection coefficient rate than diafiltration.

  • We have identified sodium benzanilide (Na-BA), sodium diphenyl amine (Na-DPA) and sodium deoxibenzoin (Na-DB) as very efficient initiators for the living anionic polymerization of HIC. It has a slow propagation rate with the additive function of chain end protection, offering in the process a perfect control over MW and MWD. The well-defined amphiphilic coil-rod, coil-rod-coil, and rod-coil-rod block-copolymers of PHIC and P2VP with controlled architecture have been synthesized for the first time with ${\sim}100\;%$ yields. The resulting block copolymers showed lamellar film, donuts, solid and hollow micelles, by simply varying the solvents and the block compositions.

  • Expression is on operation of separating liquid from solid liquid mixtures which has long been used on a universal scale in widely divergent fields. In fruit pulps processing and fermentation industries. removal of a portion of the liquid in filler cake is essential to the maximum yields of products. In sewage sludge treatments, dewatering of filter cakes is important to disposal by incineration. transportation. and landfill. In the chemical process industries, drying of wet cakes increases cost, and it is desirable to eliminate as much liquor as possible by non-thermal methods. This paper is mainly concerned with the development of a simplified equation for constant-pressure expression.

  • The application of ozone solid polymer electrolyte or Membrel water electrolysis cells with $PbO_2$ anodes for anodic generation of ozone in electrolyte-free water is reported. Maximum yields were obtained at a temperature of $25^{\circ}C-30^{\circ}C$ and current density of about 1A/$cm^2$.
