태양광어레이 최적화에 의한 단위 부지면적당 발전량 개선 (Improvement of generation capacity per unit site area by the optimization of photovoltaic array)

  • A photovoltaic system is getting the spotlight for a environment-friendly energy source. But its location is limited because a lot of land is necessary for photovoltaic arrays. Nevertheless, its dissemination is rapidly increasing more than 40 % every year and exceeded about 400 MW in 2009. The radical growth of a photovoltaic system aggravated a lack of sites, so that forests and farmland were destroyed. It is demanded to make use of a vacant lot or little piece of land for the way to solve the lack of sites and improve the location requirements for a photovoltaic system. General photovoltaic arrays are consist of a single layer structure and needs enough separation distances to maximize the amount of solar radiation and to eliminate influences by the shadow of other arrays. So that a large amount of land is required for the site. The solar cell arrays with long separation distances can not be placed in a small vacant lot and its site application efficiency is low. This study optimized photovoltaic arrays as multilayered structure with movable sleeves for the efficient photovoltaic in a small site. The existing photovoltaic arrays with a single layer structure were fixed or tracking systems. In this experimental equipment, photovoltaic arrays attached to the multilayers have rectilinear movement and rotary motion using sleeves. Therefore, shadow influences were removed and the generation capacity was improved. On the simulation result, generation increased by about 30% in the same site considering shadow influences and so on.

  • A bypass diode is connected in parallel to solar cells with opposite polarity. The advantage of using the bypass diode is circumvented a destructive efforts of hot-spot heating in the photovoltaic(PV) module. In addition, it is possible to reduce a energy loss under the partial shading on the PV module. This paper presents a characteristic of photovoltaic module under partial shading condition and with defective bypass diode by using the experimental data. The results of field testing for each photovoltaic modules, when photovoltaic system which is connected power grid is operating, the inner junction-box temperature of shading photovoltaic module is high $5^{\circ}C$ because of difference of flowing current through into bypass diode. And incase of not operating photovoltaic system, the inner junction-box temperature of module with defective bypass diode is greatly higher than partial shading PV module.

다양한 환경조건에서 태양전지모듈의 PID회복특성 (PID Recovery Characteristics of Photovoltaic Modules in Various Environmental Conditions)

  • The Potential Induced Degradation(PID) in PV module mainly affected by various performance conditions such as a potential difference between solar cell and frame, ambient temperature and relative humidity. The positive charges as sodium ions in front glass reach solar cell in module by a potential difference and are accumulated in the solar cell. The ions accelerate the recombination of generation electrons within solar cell under illumination, which reduces the entire output of module. Recently, it was generally known that PID generation is suppressed by controlling the thickness of SiNx AR coating layer on solar cell or using Sodium-free glass and high resistivity encapsulant. However, recovery effects for module with PID are required, because those methods permanently prevent generating PID of module. PID recovery method that voltage reversely applies between solar cell and frame contract to PID generation begins to receive attention. In this paper, PID recovery tests by using voltage under various outdoor conditions as humidity, temperature, voltage are conducted to effectively mitigate PID in module. We confirm that this recovery method perfectly eliminates PID of solar cell according to repeative PID generation and recovery as well as the applied voltage of three factors mainly affect PID recovery.

병실 냉.난방장치용 태양 위치 추적기를 이용한 태양광 발전시스템에 관한 연구 (A study on Photovoltaic System to Considers a Solar Position Tracker for Air Conditioner a Clinic room)

  • 본 논문에서는 태양광 발전의 효율을 높이기 위하여 센서와 마이크로프로세서를 이용한 태양광 위치추적 장치를 설계하여 고정 방식의 태양광 발전과 위치 추적 방식의 태양광 발전에 대하여 비교해 보았으며, 태양전지에 대한 특성 해석과 수학적 모델링을 통한 시뮬레이션을 행하여 태양전지 특성 사양과 비교해 보았다. 또한 전력변환 시스템을 Boost 컨버터와 전압형 인버터로 구성하여 각각에 대하여 실험하였으며, Boost 컨버터 제어에서 최대 전력점 추적을 위해 일정전압 제어법을 사용하였다. 인버터의 제어에서는 SPWM(Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation) 제어법을 사용하여 실험하여 좋은 결과를 나타내었다.

  • This paper presents the deposition of ${\mu}c$-Si:H thin-film and fabrication of a solar cell by VHF-PECVD method. The ${\mu}c$-Si:H thin films and pin-type solar cells are fabricated using multi-chamber cluster tool system. A 7.4% conversion efficiency was achieved from ${\mu}c$-Si:H thin film solar cells with total thickness less than $5{\mu}m$. The physical characteristic was measured by Raman spectroscopy, Solar cell characteristic was measured under AM1.5 illumination.

  • Microcrystalline silicon(c-Si:H) thin-film solar cells are prepared with intrinsic Si-layer by hot wire CVD. The operating parameters of solar cells are strongly affected by the filament temperature ($T_f$) during intrinsic layer. Jsc and efficiency abruptly decreases with elevated $T_f$ to $1400^{\circ}C$. This deterioration of solar cell parameters are resulted from increase of crystalline volume fraction and corresponding defect density at high $T_f$ The heater temperature ($T_h$) are also critical parameter that controls device operations. Solar cells prepared at low $T_h$ (<$200^{\circ}C$) shows a similar operating properties with devices prepared at high $T_f$, i.e. low Jsc, Voc and efficiency. The origins for this result, however, are different with that of inferior device performances at high $T_f$. In addition the phase transition of the silicon films occurs at different silane concentration (SC) by varying filament temperature, by which highest efficiency with SC vanes with $T_f$.

  • In this paper, I used microprocessor and sensor and designed to improve the efficiency of the photovoltaic system the photovoltaic position tracker device, and compared the normal photovoltaic system of fixed form with the photovoltaic system of solar position tracked form. Moreover, compared the catalogue of solar cell module and the simulation through a mathematics modelling with the solar cell's characteristic interpreting and, composed an power conversion system with boost converter and voltage source inverter. Used the constant voltage control method for maximum power point tracking in boost converter control and, used the SPWM(Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation) control method in inverter control.

  • A photovoltaic system is an infinite and clean energy system. A photovoltaic system consists of a solar cell array, a converter, a inverter and a control unit. It is necessary that the Maximum Power Point Tracker(MPPT) is applied to the photovoltaic system because the output power of solar cell array is varied with irradiation, temperature and external effects. In this paper, the neural networks theory, one of the control methods, is applied to track the maximum power point of the photovoltaic system. The MPPT using neural networks theory is proposed to improve existing energy converter efficiency. Also the theory is applied to operation of inverter type airconditionig system.

  • Switch losses directly affect the efficiency of power conversion systems and those have big differences according to the power consumed by load systems and the structures of power conversion circuits. In this paper, analyses for switch losses in DC link converter are performed based on the circuit structures of the DC/DC converter in photovoltaic generation system whose output power is varied according to the amount of solar radiation, temperature and partial shade on the solar modules. Boost converter is adopted as a DC link converter topology of the photovoltaic generation system and the loss analyses for the switches used in the boost converters are performed according to the circuit structures. Analyses like the things performed in this paper will be a prerequisite to designing the photovoltaic generation system whose output power is changed according to the environmental variations.

  • The amount of incident rays over inclination according to direction has been widely utilized as important data in installing photovoltaic systems. This is because the performance of the photovoltaic systems in much affected by angle and direction of incident rays. Recognizing that factors mentioned above are of importance, actual experiment on the moving route of the sun have been performed in this research to obtain the angle of inclination with which the maximum incident rays can be absorbed. After all, the standard for designing highly optimized photovoltaic systems will be provided for designers and employees working in the photovoltaic module related industries.
