In this paper, we investigate the observations of Venus in daytime that are recorded in the Goryeosa (History of the Goryeo Dynasty, A.D. 918-1392). There are a total of 167 accounts of such observations in this historical book, spanning a period of 378 yr (from 1014 to 1392). These include six accounts where the days of the observation are not specified and two accounts where the phase angles are outside the calculation range of the equation used in our study. We analyze the number distribution of 164 accounts in 16 yr intervals covering the period from 1023 to 1391. We find that this distribution shows its minimum at around 1232, when the Goryeo dynasty moved the capital to the Ganghwa Island because of the Mongol invasion, and its maximum at around 1390, about the time when the dynasty fell. In addition, we calculate the azimuth, altitude, solar elongation, and apparent magnitude of Venus at sunset for 159 observations, excluding the eight accounts mentioned above, using the DE 406 ephemeris and modern astronomical algorithms. We find that the average elongation and magnitude of Venus on the days of those accounts were ${\sim}40^{\circ}$ and -4.5, respectively, whereas the minimum magnitude was -3.8. The results of this study are useful for estimating the practical conditions for observing Venus in daylight with the naked eye and they also provide additional insight into the corresponding historical accounts contained in the Goryeosa.
Abstract Under the physical stress on photovoltaic (PV) module, it will be warped according to elongation of the front glass and then micro-crack will be occurred in the thermally sealed solar cell. This micro-crack leads to drop of short circuit current of the PV module. This is because of increase of resistance component by micro-crack. Micro-crack at specific solar cell in the module lessens the durability of PV module with reduced output, hot-spot caused by solar cell output mismatch and increased resistance component. This study shows the relation between electrical characteristics and micro- cracks due to mechanical stress on PV module.
In this study, analysed the characteristics of power drop and surface damage in solar cell through high temperature and humidity test in the 3 case of EVA(ethylene vinyl acetate) and 2 case ribbon thickness. The solar cells were tested during the 500hr in $85^{\circ}C$ temperature and 85% relative humidity conditions, that excerpted standard of PV Module(KS C IEC-61215). Through the EL(Electroluminescence) shots, specimen's surface have partialy damaged. Before and after high humidity and high temperature test, ribbon thickness $200{\mu}m$ EVA1 case power drop rate was 8.463%, EVA2 case was 6.667%, EVA3 case was 6.373%. In the ribbon thickness $250{\mu}m$ EVA1 case power drop rate was 6.521%, EVA2 case was 8.517%, EVA3 case was 6.019%. EVA3 case was the lowest power and FF(fill factor) drop rate at the 2 case of ribbon thickness, because EVA3 is laerger than EVA1 and EVA2 in thickness, elongation and tensile strength.
If the Photovoltaic(PV) Module should get physical load, the PV module will be warped according to elongation of the front glass and then micro-crack will be occurred in the heat sealed Solar Cell. This micro-crack drops output of the short circuit current and the open circuit voltage of the PV Module. This is because of increase of resistance component by micro-crack. Micro-crack at specific Solar Cell in the module reduces the durability of PV Module such as less output, Hot-Spot in the PV module caused by Solar Cell output mismatch, heat generating as resistance component caused by micro-crack. In this study, among some factors which effect to the output of crystalline PV Module, we will see how the micro-crack caused by mechanical stress effects to the electrical output of PV Module.

Epoxy polymer exposed to solar radiation on long-term is required to a long-term environmental test in order to ensure the reliability of operation performance. In this paper, the solar aging experiment is performed for 7, 14, 28, 56, and 84 cycles, using solar simulator designed according to MIL-STD-810. After the aging experiment, measuring RGB values and using the CIE1976 color space, each RGB decreasing rates and total color shift are calculated. In addition, using a universal testing machine, mechnical properties according to ASTM-D638 are measured. As a result, by increasing solar aging period, total color shift is increased, and the tensile strength and elongation are decreased, but the elastic modulus and the poisson's ratio are slightly changed.
Interstellar objects (ISOs) provide essential information on the physical and chemical properties of the environment when extrasolar systems are formed. Since 2017, two interstellar objects, 1I/2017 ('Oumuamua) and C/2019 Borisov, have been observed passing our solar system. The first interstellar object, named 1I/2017 ('Oumuamua), exhibits several peculiar properties that cannot be explained based on our knowledge of solar system objects, including extreme elongation and non-gravitational acceleration. Its nature and origins remain a mystery. In this talk, I will first describe the basic observational properties of 'Oumuamua and review various theories proposed to explain these features. I will then present our results, ruling out the most promising proposal that 'Oumuamua was made out of molecular hydrogen ice (solid hydrogen). Finally, I will discuss prospects for the detection of ISOs with LSST and in-depth research through multi-wavelength and tracers.

This is a proposal to probe local part of the interplanetary dust (IPD) cloud complex and retrieve mean volume emissivity of the local IPDs at mid-infrared wavelengths. This will be done by monitoring, with Infrared Camera (IRC) aboard the ASTRO-F, the annual modulation of the zodiacal emission. In pointing mode of the ASTRO-F mission the spacecraft can make attitude maneuvering over approximately ${\pm}1^{\circ}$ range centered at solar elongation $90^{\circ}$ in the ecliptic plane. The attitude maneuvering combined with high sensitivity of the IRC will provide us with a unique opportunity observationally to take derivatives of the zodiacal emission brightness with respect to the solar elongation. From the resulting differential of the brightness over the ${\pm}1^{\circ}$ range, one can directly determine the mean volume emissivity of the local IPDs with a sufficient accuracy to de-modulate the annual emissivity variations due to the Earth's elliptical motion and the dis-alignment of the maximum IPD density plane with respect to the ecliptic. The non-zero eccentricity ($e_{\oplus}$= 0.0167) of the Earth's orbit combined with the sensitive temperature dependence of the Planck function would bring modulations of amplitude at least $3.34\%$ to the zodiacal emission brightness at mid-infrared wavelengths, with which one may determine the IPD temperature T(r) and mean number density n(r) as functions of heliocentric distance r. This will in turn fix the power-law exponent $\delta$ in the relation $T(r) = T_o(r/r_o)^{-\delta}$ for the dust temperature and v in $n(r) = n_o(r/r_o)^-v$ for the density. We discuss how one may de-couple the notorious degeneracy of cross-section, density, reference temperature $T_o$ and exponent $\delta$.
This study of PV modules in the external environment, learn about the mechanical strength characteristics, the module will investigate the aluminum frame. Positive support in the module by wind loads if uniformly distributed load acting on the front glass of the module size and elongation(${\omega}$), and accordingly, depending on the bend is sealed inside the solar cell, micro-cracks that will occur. At this point the most damage-prone parts in a module, this module is part of the center of a strong wind load is applied by the destruction of the environment does not occur in the module frame to secure the reliability and to evaluate changes in the structure.
Interplanetary dust particles are observable as zodiacal light, which is the sunlight scattered by the interplanetary dust particles. The origins of interplanetary dust particles are still in question because they are eroded by Poynting-Robertson photon drag and mutual collisions among dust particles. The small-scale structures in the zodiacal light provided a clue to specify their origins. Asteroidal debris were detected as band-like structures (dust bands), and the cometary large particles were detected as narrow trails (dust trails). However, little is confirmative about their detailed origins and mineralogical compositions because of the lack of observational data particularly in the optical wavelength. We made a high-resolution optical zodiacal light map based on the CCD observations at Mauna Kea, Hawaii. We analyzed data taken on November 12, 2004. After the data reduction, such as flat fielding and subtraction of airglow emissions, we succeeded in the construction of the zodiacal light map with the spatial resolution of 3' in the solar elongation between 45 degree and 180 degree. This is the highest resolution map in the visible wavelength so far. In this map, we confirmed the dust bands structures near the ecliptic plane. We will discuss about the similarities and the differences between optical and infrared dust bands.
Salt injury in rice is caused mainly by the salinity in soil and in the irrigated water, and occasionaly by salinity delivered through typhoon from the sea. The salt concentration of rice plants increased with higher salinity in the soil of the rice growing. The climatic conditions, high temperature and solar radiation and dry conditions promote the salt absorption of rice plant in saline soil. The higher salt accumulation in the rice plant generally reduces the root activity and inhibits the absorption of minerals of rice plant, resulting the reduction of photosynthesis. The salt damages of rice plant, however, are different from different growth stage of rice plants as follows: 1. Germination of rice seed was slightly delayed up to 1.0% of salt concentration and remarkably at 1. 5%, but none of rice seeds were germinated at 2.5%. This may be due to the delayed water uptake of rice seeds and the inhibition of enzyme activity, 2. It was enable to establish rice seedlings at seed bed by 0.2% of salt concentration with some reduction of leaf elongation. The increasing of 0.3% salt concentration caused to the seedling death with varietal differences, but most of seedlings were death at 0.4% with no varietal differences. 3. Seedlings grown at the nursery over 0.1% salt, gradually reduced in rooting activity after transplanting according to increasing the salt concentration from 0.1% up to 0.3% of paddy field. However, the seedlings grown in normal seed bed showed no difference in rooting between varieties up to 0.1% but significantly different at 0.3% between varieties, but greatly reduced at 0.5% and died at last in paddy after transplanting. 4. At panicle initiation stage, rice plant delayed in heading by salt damage, at meiotic stage reduced in grains and its filling rate due to inhibition of glume and pollen developing, and salt damage at heading stage and till 3 weeks after heading caused to reduction of fertilization and ripening rate. In viewpoint of agricultural policy the overcoming strategy for salt injury is to secure sufficient water source. Irrigation and drainage systems as well as underground drainage is necessary to desalinize more effectively. This must be the most effective and positive way except cost. By cultural practice, growing the salt tolerant variety with high population could increase yield. The intermittent irrigation and fresh water flooding especially at transplanting and from panicle initiation to heading stage, the most sensitive to salt injury, is important to reduce the salt content in saline soil. During the off-cropping season, plough and rotavation with flooding followed by drainage, or submersion and drainage with groove could improve the desalinization. Increase of nitrogen fertilizer with more split application, and soil improvement by lime, organic matter and forign soil addition, could increase the rice yield. Shift of trans-planting is one of the way to escape from the salt injury.
