디지털아트에 의한 패션일러스트레이션의 소프트웨어 미학 분석 - 아인슈타인의 상대성이론을 중심으로 - (Aesthetic Analysis of Digital Art Using Fashion Illustration Software - Focusing on Alfred Einstein's Theory of Relativity -)

  • The inflow of digital technology into the art, especially in the Fashion Illustration since 1990, makes the new aesthetics of the beginning of the 21 century which the Software aesthetics can be called. The meeting of technology and the art make us recall a great scientist and artist, Leonardo da Vinci in the Renaissance that the notion of the art and skill was unified, same as the ancient history. This study is purposed to expand the concept of the art for the broad exchange of the digital technology and art and for the extensive expression method of the modern fashion illustration. Having views on science theory of the beginning of the 20 century, Theory of Relativity which had given a lot of influence in the philosophy, the litterature and the art, as well as all the science, it makes a connection with the history of art in the beginning of the 20 century and the story of the digital art in the beginning of the 21 century. Firstly, the Fauvism and 2D is based on the expression of the glowing and bright color by the Principle of constancy of light velocity. Secondly, the Cubism and 3D is associated with the Special theory of relativity in the cyberspace which the space and the time are totally accorded. Thirdly, the Futurism and 4D is compared with the General theory of relativity which contains the material and the gravity. They are gradually evolved into the Interactive art and the Kinetic art by the digital technology in the profound cyberspace.

The maxillary incisor labial face tangent: clinical evaluation of maxillary incisor inclination in profile smiling view and idealized aesthetics

  • Background: To test the hypothesis that in profile smiling view, for ideal aesthetics, a tangent to the labial face of the maxillary central incisor crowns should be approximately parallel to the true vertical line and thereby perpendicular to the true horizontal line. Methods: An idealized female image was created with computer software and manipulated using the same software to construct an "ideal" female profile image with proportions, and linear and angular soft tissue measurements, based on currently accepted criteria for idealized Caucasian profiles. The maxillary incisor labial face tangent was altered in 5° increments from 70 to 120°, creating a range of images, shown in random order to 70 observers (56 lay people and 14 clinicians), who ranked the images from the most to the least attractive. The main outcome was the preference ranks of image attractiveness given by the observers. Results: The most attractive inclination of a tangent to the labial face of the maxillary incisor crowns in profile view in relation to the true horizontal line was 85°, i.e. 5° retroclined from a perpendicular 90° inclination. The most attractive range appears to be between 80 and 90°. Excessive proclination appeared to be less desirable than retroclination. Beyond 105° most observers recommend treatment. Conclusion: In natural head position, the ideal inclination of the maxillary incisor crown labial face tangent in profile view will be approximately parallel to the true vertical line and thereby approximately perpendicular to the true horizontal line.

A Novel, Deep Learning-Based, Automatic Photometric Analysis Software for Breast Aesthetic Scoring

  • Background Breast aesthetics evaluation often relies on subjective assessments, leading to the need for objective, automated tools. We developed the Seoul Breast Esthetic Scoring Tool (S-BEST), a photometric analysis software that utilizes a DenseNet-264 deep learning model to automatically evaluate breast landmarks and asymmetry indices. Methods S-BEST was trained on a dataset of frontal breast photographs annotated with 30 specific landmarks, divided into an 80-20 training-validation split. The software requires the distances of sternal notch to nipple or nipple-to-nipple as input and performs image preprocessing steps, including ratio correction and 8-bit normalization. Breast asymmetry indices and centimeter-based measurements are provided as the output. The accuracy of S-BEST was validated using a paired t-test and Bland-Altman plots, comparing its measurements to those obtained from physical examinations of 100 females diagnosed with breast cancer. Results S-BEST demonstrated high accuracy in automatic landmark localization, with most distances showing no statistically significant difference compared with physical measurements. However, the nipple to inframammary fold distance showed a significant bias, with a coefficient of determination ranging from 0.3787 to 0.4234 for the left and right sides, respectively. Conclusion S-BEST provides a fast, reliable, and automated approach for breast aesthetic evaluation based on 2D frontal photographs. While limited by its inability to capture volumetric attributes or multiple viewpoints, it serves as an accessible tool for both clinical and research applications.

사용자 중심의 어린이전문병원 계획을 위한 사용자 평가 - 어린이 환자의 보호자와 간호사를 중심으로 - (User Evaluation for User-Oriented Children's Hospital Design - Focused on the Mothers of Child Inpatients and the Nurses -)

  • This study aims to design user-oriented children's hospital by examining the user needs, especially the mothers of child inpatients and the nurses. The subjects participated in a questionnaire survey including the user's characteristics, awareness of patient's room, the preference on ward size, demands, satisfaction and hospital environment assessment. The survey was conducted of the mothers of child inpatients and the nurses in A children's hospital, and the data were analyzed by the SPSS WIN 18.0 Version software. A total of 115 copies of the questionnaire were finally analyzed. The results and conclusions are as follows. 1) The mothers' demand on family-centered space and private spaces were higher than the nurses. 2) The mothers preferred 1-bed-room to 4-bed-room due to safety and privacy. 3) The items of hospital environment assessment was categorized into four factors; 'Aesthetics', 'Accessibility', 'Comfort', and 'Lighting'. The most positive factor was 'Aesthetics', whereas 'Comfort' was the negative factor. 4) The mother's satisfaction was lower than the nurse's. The most influential factors on the satisfaction was 'Accessibility'. To improve the satisfaction of the mothers of child inpatients and the nurses, safety, privacy, accessibility should be considered.

  • The objects of this thesis are to examine the ways of applying the postmodern theory into the contemporary de-signing based on the korean culture and history. As the results of this study Ⅰfound the expressions of the postmodern design has much value to communicate because of the importance of the aesthetics. One of the most important postmodern design concepts, the historical allusion is also accepted as an aspects of new "ism" after modernism. In applying the historical motives the problem is that we must understand the meaning of ways of life and culture included the external ornaments. Finally if we consider not only the hardware aspacts but also the software aspects - society, history, region and culture - we can make our postmodern design lan-guages.

  • 심미는 시대적 관심과 트렌드에 따라 영향을 받아왔다고 여겨지며 그에 따라 요구되어지는 장비와 소재의 한계 또한 있는데 심미증례는 또한 이를 극복해야 할 필요가 있다고 생각한다. 그리하여 환자들의 요구와 환경에 맞춘 다음의 증례를 소개하고자 하며 아날로그에서 행해져온 것들을 이어가면서 디지털이 더욱 발전하기를 희망하며 최신의 기술들을 사용함으로써 현재의 한계에 도전하는 것 그 자체로 의의가 있다고 생각한다. 디지털은 여러 방면에서 장점들이 있는데 특히 디지털 커뮤니케이션에 관련하여 관심이 있으며 구강내 인상 장치와 소프트웨어를 통해서 치과의사와 기공사간의 보철물에 관한 의사소통이 보다 직접적으로 가능해졌으며 이제는 디지털 커뮤니케이션을 통해서 보철과 심미의 새로운 시대를 열것이라 기대한다. 이번 증례를 통해서 다음의 2가지 요소를 통해서 직접적이고 실제적인 디지털 커뮤니케이션 과정을 소개 하고자 한다.

A Prospective Analysis of Dynamic Loss of Breast Projection in Tissue Expander-Implant Reconstruction

  • Background Breast projection is a critical element of breast reconstruction aesthetics, but little has been published regarding breast projection as the firm expander is changed to a softer implant. Quantitative data representing this loss in projection may enhance patient education and improve our management of patient expectations. Methods Female patients who were undergoing immediate tissue-expander breast reconstruction with the senior author were enrolled in this prospective study. Three-dimensional camera software was used for all patient photographs and data analysis. Projection was calculated as the distance between the chest wall and the point of maximal projection of the breast form. Values were calculated for final tissue expander expansion and at varying intervals 3, 6, and 12 months after implant placement. Results Fourteen breasts from 12 patients were included in the final analysis. Twelve of the 14 breasts had a loss of projection at three months following the implant placement or beyond. The percentage of projection lost in these 12 breasts ranged from 6.30% to 43.4%, with an average loss of projection of 21.05%. Conclusions This study is the first prospective quantitative analysis of temporal changes in breast projection after expander-implant reconstruction. By prospectively capturing projection data with three-dimensional photographic software, we reveal a loss of projection in this population by three months post-implant exchange. These findings will not only aid in managing patient expectations, but our methodology provides a foundation for future objective studies of the breast form.

웨어러블 컴퓨팅 디바이스를 이용한 시각 디자인 구현 및 연구 (Study on Visual Communication Design of Wearable Computing Devices)

  • 본 연구는 제4차 산업시대를 맞아 컴퓨팅 기술이 다양한 분야에서 응용되고 있는 만큼 기술과 디자인의 합목적성을 연구하는데서 시작되었다. 연구의 목적은 기술기반의 컴퓨팅 웨어러블 디바이스 디자인과 기술의 이해와 효용가치 및 미적가치를 융합하여 설계하는 것이다. 따라서 컴퓨팅 기술이 착용형으로 생산되기까지 그 과정의 이해와 소비자의 요구(needs)가 무엇인지 파악하는 것이 중요하다. 예로 웨어러블 컴퓨터(wearable computer) 중 HMD(Head Mounted Display)는 입는(착용) 컴퓨터로써 컴퓨터의 기본적인 입출력 장치를 사람의 체형에 맞게 만들어야하며 머리에 착용하는 디스플레이를 통해 보행 중에도 시야를 확보함과 동시에 컴퓨터 인터페이스를 사용할 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 시계, 안경, 의복 등의 순서로 기술과 디자인의 합목적성을 파악하고 궁극적으로 사용자가 거부감 없이 신체의 일부처럼 착용하고 사용할 수 있으며, 인간의 능력을 보완하거나 배가시키는 것을 목표로 하는 웨어러블 컴퓨팅 디바이스의 디자인 제안을 한다. 웨어러블 컴퓨팅 디바이스는 시대에 따라 소비자의 호응도를 달리하지만 기술의 변화는 가속화하고 있다. 본 연구의 결과가 급변하는 시대에 맞추어 웨어러블 컴퓨팅 디바이스 디자인 연구의 초석이 되기를 기대한다.

사물인터넷 기반의 스마트 휴지통 (IoT(Internet of Things)-based Smart Trash Can)

  • 본 논문은 사물인터넷 기반의 스마트 휴지통에 관한 연구이다. 현대 사회에서 쓰레기 처리는 여러 사회 문제를 일으킨다. 특히 유동인구가 많은 주말의 도심에서 쓰레기 처리 용량이 쓰레기 배출량을 따라가지 못해 문제가 발생하고 있다. 넘쳐나는 쓰레기로 악취가 발생하고, 미관을 해지고, 벌레가 생기는 등의 문제가 있다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 스마트 휴지통을 제안하였다. 제안된 스마트 휴지통은 쓰레기 압축 기능, 휴지통 자동 개폐 기능, 쓰레기양 표시기능, 휴지통 모니터링 및 제어 기능을 제공한다. 제안된 스마트 휴지통은 유동인구가 많은 옥외의 쓰레기 처리에 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

20, 30대 남성의 외모관심도에 따른 속옷 태도 및 속옷 구매 (Underwear Purchase Behaviors and Attitude by Degree of Interest in the Appearance of Males in Their 20s-30s)

  • This study examines underwear purchase behaviors and the attitude of male consumers based on the degree of interest in appearance. Data research was conducted on 296 males in their 20s and 30s located in Seoul & Gyeonggi province. The SPSS 17.0 software program was used to conduct data analyses such as descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis, t-test, and $\chi^2$-test. The results of this study are as follows: The degree of interest in appearance was identified with four factors; outfit management, confidence of figure, interest in clothing, weight control, and disinterest in appearance. Customers were segmented into two subdivisions: high and low interest in appearance. The factors derived from the factor analysis of underwear purchase motive included aesthetic, impulsiveness, and practicality. The purchase behavior of the group with high interest in appearance was highly motivated by aesthetics and impulsiveness. The factors derived from the factor analysis of underwear attitude included fashionability, comfortableness, and quality. Customers were segmented into the following three subdivisions: pursuit of comfortableness, pursuit of diversity, and normal. The type of high interest in appearance regarded fashionability and quality highly. Finally, the degree of interest in appearance showed significant relevance in purchase motive and underwear attitude for underwear.
