미국 캘리포니아 San Joaquin Valley 농업관개수에서 회수한 Sodium Sulfate의 균염성 염료 조제로의 재활용 (Reuse of Sodium Sulfate Recovered from Farm Drainage Salt of San Joaquin Valley in California, U.S.A. as Dyeing Builder of Levelling Dyes)

  • Agricultural drainage salt generated during irrigation of crops in San Joaquin Valley, California, exceeds 600,000 tons annually and cumulates in the field in a rapid rate. As a result, the waste is taking out more farmlands for salt storage and disposal, imposing serious concerns to environment and local agricultural industry. In searching for a potential solution to reduce or eliminate the waste, this research explored feasibility of producing a value-added product, sodium sulfate, from the waste and utilizing the product in textile dyeing. The results indicated that sodium sulfate could be produced from the salt and could be purified by a recrystalization method in a temperature range within the highest and lowest daily temperatures in summer in the valley. The recovered sodium sulfate samples, with purities ranging from 67% to 99.91, were compared with commercially available sodium sulfate in the dyeing of levelling dyes with nylon/wool fabrics. In nylon/wool fabrics, C.I. Acid Yellow 23 had similar exhaustions among Na₂SO₄ I, Na₂SO₄ II, Na₂SO₄ III and Na₂SO₄ Ⅴ which had similar ratios of sodium sulfate and sodium chloride in recovered salts. Na₂SO₄ Ⅳ had low exhaustion which had low ratios of sodium sulfate and sodium chloride. In nylon/wool fabrics, C.I. Acid Blue 158 had similar exhaustions among Na₂SO₄ I, Na₂SO₄ II, Na2₂SO₄ III, Na₂SO₄ IV and Na₂SO₄ Ⅴ despite of Na₂SO₄ Ⅳ had low ratios of sodium sulfate and sodium chloride Generally, the dyeing of levelling dyes using recovered salts from farm drainage has similar or low exhaustion than the dyeing of levelling dyes using commercial sodium sulfate.

NaOCl로 처리된 치수강 상아질에서 sodium ascorbate가 미세인장결합강도에 미치는 영향 (INFLUENCE OF SODIUM ASCORBATE ON MICROTENSILE BOND STRENGTHS TO PULP CHAMBER DENTIN TREATED WITH NAOCL)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 NaOCl로 처리된 치수강 상아질에 total-etching adhesive system(single bond, 3M-ESPE, St Paul, MN, USA)을 적용할 때 미세인장결합강도에서 sodium ascorbate가 미치는 영향을 평가하는 것이다. 발치된 건전한 인간 대구치의 치수강 내면을 다음과 같이 처리하였다. 1군, 0.9% NaCl로 세척; 2군, 5.25% NaOCl로 세척; 3군, 5.25% NaOCl로 세척한 후 10% sodium ascorbate를 1분간 적용; 4군, 5.25% NaOCl로 세척한 후 10% sodium ascorbate를 1분간 적용하고 다시 10ml 물로 수세; 5군, 5.25% NaOCl로 세척한 후 10% sodium ascorbate를 5분간 적용; 6군, 5.25% NaOCl로 세척한 후 10% sodium ascorbate를 5분간 적용하고 다시 10ml 물로 수세; 7군, 5.25% NaOCl로 세척한 후 10% sodium ascorbate를 10분간 적용; 8군, 5.25% NaOCl로 세척한 후 10% sodium ascorbate를 10분간 적용하고 다시 10ml 물로 수세. 처리된 시편들은 total-etching adhesive system(Single bond)으로 처리한 후 composite resin(Z250)으로 충전하고, 미세인장강도를 측정하기 전 24시 간 동안 보관하였다. 분석 결과 NaOCl 처리 군(2군)은 다른 실험군들에 비해 유의성 있게 낮은 결합 강도를 보였다. NaCl 처리 군(1군)과 sodium ascorbate 처리 군(3-8군)은 유의성 있는 차이가 없었다. 이번 연구 결과는 NaOCl로 처리한 치수강 상아질의 Single bond에 대한 미세인장결합강도는 감소되며, 10% sodium ascorbate를 추가적으로 처리하였을 때 감소된 결합력이 회복됨을 보여주었다. Sodium ascorbate의 다양한 처리시간은 결합력에 영향을 미치지 않았다.

Recovery of Sodium Sulfate from Farm Dyainage Salt and Using It in Directive Dyeing of Cotton

Direct Yellow 27 and direct Blue 1 had similar exhaustions among Na₂So₄Ⅰ, Na₂So₄Ⅱ, Na₂So₄Ⅲ and V which had similar ratios of sodium sulfate and sodium chloride in recovered salts. Na₂So₄Ⅳ had high exhaustion despite low ratios of sodium sulfate and sodium chloride. In direct Red 80, exhaustion depends more on the ratios of sodium sulfate and sodium chloride than sodium chloride. Na₂SO₄Ⅳ and Na₂SO₄V with high ratios of sodium chloride had more exhaustion than Na₂So₄and Na₂So₄Ⅲ with low ratios of sodium chloride. Generally, directive dyeing using recovered salts from farm drainage has similar or more excellent exhaustion than directive dyeing using commercial sodium sulfate.

국내외 나트륨 저감 기술 동향 (Domestic and International Trends in Technologies for Sodium Reduction)

  • Sodium chloride (NaCl) is a very important as one of major food ingredients in food industries. Recently, as the potential risk of adult diseases such as hypertension by overingestion of sodium, health authorities of many countries are executing policies for the reduction of sodium to suppress the overingestion of sodium by intake of NaCl. As general ways, the replacement of NaCl with either alternative salts, such as solar salts and minerals, for examples calcium, magnesium, potassium, lactic acid, and so on, and the addition of flavor enhancers were used to reduce the contents of sodium in foods. Recently, controls of particle size of sodium chloride or release point are emerging as new salt-manufacturing technologies for the sodium reduction. Upon reducing NaCl in foods it is important to develop practically adaptable technologies on the basis of the consideration of the unique functions of NaCl in foods, in particular effects on rheological characters, function as a humectant, shorten shelf life time, and so on.

  • Gold sodium thiomalate (GST, gold compound) is a widely used anti-arthritic, anti-rheumatic and anti-inflammatory drug that is considered a good alternative to sodium salicylate (NaSA) for individuals who cannot tolerate salicylates. Nitric oxide (NO) synthesized by inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) has been implicated as a mediator of inflammation. Recent evidence suggests that anti-inflammatory effect of NaSA lies in the inhibition of iNOS, but nothing has been reported about the direct effect of iNOS expression by GST. The present study was designed to elucidate sequentially the action mechanisms of GST and NaSA on lipopolysaccharide (LPS) plus interferon-gamma (IFN-$\gamma$) induced iNOS expression in RAW 264.7 macrophages. Both GST and NaSA inhibited NO production and iNOS protein expression in a dose dependent manner. GST inhibited iNOS mRNA expression induced by LPS plus IFN-$\gamma$, whereas NaSA did not. These findings suggest that GST may exert anti-arthritic, anti-rheumatic and anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting iNOS expression induced by LPS plus IFN-$\gamma$ at transcriptional level, whereas NaSA exert its effect by inhibiting iNOS expression at the translational or posttranslational level.

토양에의 고농도 Na 및 Cl 염류가 토마토의 생육 및 무기성분 흡수에 미치는 영향 (Effect of High Concentrations of Sodium or Chloride Salts in Soil on the Growth of and Mineral Uptake by Tomatoes)

  • 본 연구는 토양에의 고농도 Na 및 Cl 염류처리가 토마토의 생육과 무기성분 흡수, 광합성 속도 및 수분 포텐셜에 미치는 효과를 검토코자 수행되었다. 초장, 생체중, 건물중 등 생육은 대조구에 비해 모든 염 처리구에서 억제되었으나, 토양의 pH와 EC와는 관계가 없었다. 토마토의 생육억제 효과는 Na계열에서는 Cl, SO$_4$, CO$_3$, PO$_4$, NO$_3$ 순으로, 그리고 Cl 계열에서는 Na, K, Mg, NH$_4$, Ca순으로 컸으며, Na 계열이 Cl 계열보다 컸다. 토마토의 수량은 대조구보다 모든 염 처리구에서 30%~10%적었으며,특히 NaCl처리구에서 더욱 적었다. 엽록소 함량, 광합성 속도, 기공전도도는 대조구에 비해 염 처리구에서 낮았다. 무기양분 함량은 대조구보다 모든 염류에서 낮았다. N 함량은 NaNO$_3$, NH$_4$Cl 및 대조구가 11% 내외로 가장 높았으나 Na 계열에서는 NaCl 및 NaHCO$_3$ 처리구가, Cl 계열에서는 KCI 처리구가 5.5~6.0% 내외로 낮았다. K 함량은 Cl 계열보다 Na 계열이 적었으며, 특히 NaCl과 $Na_2$SO$_4$ 처리구에서 더욱 낮았다. Mg 및 Ca 함량은 대조구보다 낮았으며, NaCl과 KCl 처리에서 매우 낮아 Na 및 K 이온과 상당한 길항관계를 보였다 전반적으로 각 이온의 흡수는 KCl및 NaCl처리구에서 가장 낮은 경향이었다.

돈육식품의 품질에 미치는 Chloride Salts의 대치 효과 (Effect of Partial Replacement of Sodium Chloride on Quality of Ground Pork Patties)

  • The ground pork patties were made to add two level of sodium chloride(2.5%, 3.0%) and replace part(50%) of the sodium chloride(NaCl) with either potassium chloride(KCl), magnesium chloride(MgCl2) or calcium chloride(CaCl2). These samples were analyzed for their chemical composition, VBN value, TBA value, microbial counts, and cooking loss. The ground pork with NaCl 2.5% was more desirable in saltness than the ground pork with NaCl 3.0%. Replacing 50% of the sodium chloride with potassium chloride was more desirable to flavor, color, juiciness, and overall acceptability than replacing 50% of the sodium chloride with either magnesium chloride or calcium chloride. The ground pork with NaCl 2.5% or NaCl 1.25% +KCI 1.60% had higher pH value than the ground pork with NaCl 1.25% +MgCl2 0.67% or NaCl 1.25% +CaCl2 0.79%. The ground pork with the ground pork with NaCl 2.5% had lower VBN value than the ground pork with either NaCl 1.25%+KCI 1.60%, NaCl 1.25% + MgCl2 0.67%, or NaCl 1.25% +CaCl2 0.79%. The ground pork with NaCl 1.25% + CaCl2 0.67% had higher increase in total colony count than the ground pork with NaCl 2.5% or NaCl 1.25% + CaCl2 0.79%. Cooking loss of ground pork with NaCl 2.5% was lowest and cooking loss of ground pork with NaCl 1.25% + KCl 1.60% was highest. Potassium chloride would not be a substitute for sodium chloride in cooking loss and total colony count but potassium chloride more closely approximated the sensory properties of sodium chloride than either magnesium chloride or calcium chloride.

Sodium molybdate의 납중독성 말초 신경계독성 예방기전 (Preventive Mechanism of Sodium Molybdate Against Peripheral Neurotoxicity of Lead)

  • The preventive effects of sodium molybdate on the acute toxicity of lead were studied by investigating tissue accumulation of lead, changes of nerve conduction velocity and concentrations of metabolites related to function of sciatic nerve in rats treated with lead, sodium molybdate and both, respectively. In lead-intoxicated rat, the conduction velocity, myo-inositol concentration and $Na^{+}/K^{+}$ ATPase activity of sciatic nerve were decreased by about 33 %, 48 % and 58 %, respectively. However, sodium molybdate treatment significantly normalized the conduction velocity, $Na^{+}/K^{+}$ ATPase activity and myo-inositol concentration of sciatic nerve in lead-intoxicated rat. Also, sodium molybdate treatment decreased the contents of lead in blood and sciatic nerve through promotion of urinary excretion of lead. But sodium molybdate treatment did not affect the glucose concentration in sciatic nerve. These results suggest that sodium molybdate prevented peripheral neuropathy not only by reducing lead contents in sciatic nerve and blood, but also by enhancing $Na^{+}/K^{+}$ ATPase activity in sciatic nerve.

  • 하동 kaolin을 NaOH용액으로 처리하여 그의 결정성을 X-선 분말회절법으로 조사하였다. 각 결정 생성의 최적 처리 조건은 다음과 같다. <표> Sodium A zeolite 결정 생성을 위해 적당한 $Na_2O 대 SiO_2$의 비는 0.5${\sim}$1.5이다. 생성된 Sodium A zeolite 의$ 25^{\circ}C$, 0.2N $CaCl_2$ 용액에서의 $Ca^{++}ion$ 교환능은 이론값의 65%였다.

  • Studies the reaction mechanism and optimal reaction condition of the process of preparing sodium isocyanate, by means of heating of sodium carbonate and urea. Proposing, at the sametime, the quantitative analyzing method of sodium isocyanate in the presence of impurities of $Na_{2}CO_{3}$, urea and biuret. 1. Sodium isocyanate could be prepared by means of heating reaction of sodium carbonate and urea. 2. Adding urea into the heated sodium carbonate is reasonable. 3. Quantitative analysis of sodium isocyanate in the presence of impurities, $Na_{2}CO_{3}$, urea and biuret could be done by the following method:-adding nitrobarite solution into sample solution in order to remove $CO_{3}"$ and neutralize the solution, filtering off $BaCO_{3}$, and then precipitating isocyanate as a silver salt, filtering off AgNCO, and then, titrating remaining $AgNO_{3}$ with $NH_{4}SCN$, (indicator $FeNH_{4}(SO_{4})_{2})$/TEX>
