The goal of this research is to explore quantitative and residential features and spatial patterns of two-person households to suggest policy implications for housing supply and development in Seoul. Major findings of this study are as follows. First, the number of two-person households has increased rapidly mainly due to the growth of the elderly and single-parent households. They are mainly composed of the elderly over 60s and the youth of 30s of householder age. They are less likely to have well-paying jobs, and thus more likely to suffer from poverty. They are also inclined to live in rental and small-sized residential units and spatial segregation between the youth and the elderly became serious. In addition, their residential area can be classified into four types: area adjacent to employment centers, hinterland of urban centers, affordable multi-family housing area and redeveloped apartment area. It is necessary to change the current housing policy directions to take changing population and household structure into consideration. Also, diversified housing strategies and programs should be prepared to consider various household types and their needs and demands. Place-based strategies for housing supply and development are needed in consideration of spatial patterns and locational attributes of two-person households. Attention needs to be paid to resolving the social issue of residential segregation between different generations.
It is very well known all over the world that Sweden has a long history of social welfare, especially in the area of housing for the elderly and they have managed it successfully until now. In this study. the group homes for the elderly with dementia which has been adapted and developed in Sweden recently is discussed in reference to the characteristics of the inhabitants, way of management, and architectural design for the group homes in order to find any possibility to apply it in Korea in the future.
Purpose: The problem of housing poverty among young people is a very important problem for the nation. Therefore, the main purpose of this paper is to identify the problems of the government's housing support policy for young people. And it is in presenting specific solutions by fully reflecting the opinions of experts. Research design, data and methodology: This study consisted of analyzing the following three research topics: 1) the differences of youth residential support housing policy impact on young adults' housing stability, 2) the problems and solutions of youth housing support policy, and 3) the differences of experts' opinions on the impact of government policy on youth housing stability. The subject of this study is the government's seven housing policies for young people. The targets include Happy Public Rental Housing (Happiness Housing), Station Area Rental Housing for youth (Station Area 2030), Public Dormitory for College Students (Public Dormitory & Hope Dormitory), Jeonse Rental Housing for College Students (Subject Lease Rental Housing for College Students), Social Housing for Young People, and Share House. The data was organized through expert surveys from 1st to 30th June 2020. The experts surveyed include professors & researchers, public officer & public institutions staff, and private developers of young adults' housing. The methodology of analysis on the problem and the solution of government policy was Frequency analysis. And analysis methods on differences of experts' opinion were ANOVA, Levene' test, and Schefe test. Results: Problems in Government's youth residential support housing policy include high rents, lack of supply, difficulty in acquiring rental housing, inconvenience in using shared spaces, conflicts with cohabitants, and invasion of privacy. Solutions include expanding supply to urban areas, establishing long-term plans, securing privacy, diversifying business methods, establishing platforms for rental housing transactions, and expanding various public support (financial support, etc). Conclusions: There was a difference in perception among groups of experts on the impact of public rental housing (called 'happiness housing') in youth housing stability. It is very urgent to come up with the most reasonable policy to support youth housing. This requires in-depth discussions by experts to narrow their differences.
A pedestrian environment provides improved walking conditions and facilities for most pedestrians. However, the walking conditions for women with strollers are poor. The purpose of this study was to provide information on the walking environment planning for women with strollers in an urban housing area through analyse of walking characteristics, patterns of going out, and the psychology of them. This study surveyed 208 women who pushed a baby n a stroller in Gyeongsan. The analysis consisted of calculation of the frequencies, the mean, t-test, and ${\chi}^2$ test. The survey results revealed that, first, the women had their own favorite places in the housing area, and usually went out during the afternoon as various aims. When they went out, they felt stress both psychologically and physically, and they thought that they were weak at walking. Second, the safety and the convenience factors of walking environment were important conditions that make the women to go out often. Third, the environment that have not the accessibility, the amenity, and the diversity also restricted the women from going out with the stroller. As a result, they did mot use the stroller and tended to use their cars to go out. However, when the diversity of the environment is added to walking environment, women invreased their social interactions.
Purpose: The purpose of this paper was to investigate community health status and related factors using community health and social indicators. Method: Data sources were reviewed and data for 10 categories, 75 indicators were collected. Community health status and health-related factors were categorized, and the means and standard deviation of individual indicators were obtained and standardized scores were calculated. In addition, through factor analysis of individual indicators by category using the scores and using the resultant factor coefficients as weights, indexes were calculated by area. Correlation and regression were analyzed. Result: Each indicator was highly correlated with each index, and the indexes were highly correlated with one another. Correlation coefficients were above 0.8 between community health index and population, education, housing, and economy, between population and education, housing and economy, between education and housing and economy, and between housing and economy, environment and industry. But multicollinearity was not found in the result. Significant factors on community health index were population, health personnel and facilities, education, housing and economy, and R-square were 92.4%. Conclusion: Health determinants such as population, health personnel and facilities, education, housing and economy could be influencing factors on community health in community level. These results showed the importance of intersectoral collaboration within a local government. Overall community health can be enhanced by intersectoral collaboration.
As a neighboring country belonged to the same cultural sphere with the Northeast Asia, China is recently emerging as a center of the world's economy. The social transformations caused by the rapid economic growth are bringing changes in the Chinese housing culture and thus, it is considered that the identification of a user's need concerning a new housing space and social and cultural understanding on China are necessary. Accordingly, this research intended to conduct the basic research on the Chinese housing space design by observing the small apartment users in Shanghai area in terms of not only the tangible element of the residential space type but also the intangible elements such as lifestyle, values, behaviors, etc. The research range was limited to the kitchen area at the center of a house as a place where the exchanges among the family members are most frequently occur, and the research was carried out in the following methods. First, the effective user research method for the analysis of the Chinese small apartment kitchen users was studied through the literature investigation. Second, the 6 families of a research target were selected focused on the small apartments in Shanghai, China and the user research was performed using three methods of User observation, Video ethnography, and Contextual inquiry. Third, the research results were analyzed focused on the flow of human traffic in the kitchen area and user's behaviors. What were identified as a result take account of the human traffic movements in the kitchen areas around the sink-counter-cook top, cooking behaviors and meal areas outside of the kitchen. Through this, the need for the effective organization of the sink-counter-cook top, arrangement of meal area, and placement of storage by section for the kitchen space of China were drawn based on the understanding of the cooking process, and it was identified that such results require comprehensive understanding of Chinese housing culture.
The purpose of this paper is to find out the factors affecting the apartment price given three sets of variables such as characteristics of apartment building, apartment site, and location. Data of 1,579 housing units in 224 apartment complex sites in Ilsan city were selected from the housing information of four public and private housing sources in 2006. The first set of variables for physical features include housing size (pyoung), preferring-floor, building orientation, heating system and structure of entrance. The second set of variables for building were number of housing units, built year and rank of construction company. The third set of variables for location were distance from number of school, the subway station, distance of department store and park. For the analysis, the hedonic price model, which was one of the methods to estimate social convenience, was used along with the SPSS statistical program and regression analysis. The results are as follows, Firstly, in the structural characteristic variables, it was analyzed that all of the variables except facing affected the apartment price. Secondly, In the site characteristic variables, unusually all of the variables were not affected the apartment price in Ilsan city. Finally, the locational characteristic variables number of school, the subway station, distance of department store and park affected the apartment price. In case of Ilsan city, educational facilities was likely to positively contribute to the price of apartment.

The purpose of this paper was to know perception of rural area, intention of going to rural, decision factors. It is social survey research with questionnaire which was conducted among citizen of Incheon during Oct. 11~28 2010. The data from 100 respondents were analysed using descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, t-test, crosstab, and factor using SPSS 18.0 statistic program. The major findings were as followings: 1)most of the middle aged people(90%) are interested in living in rural area, and 96% of middle aged people have positive perception of living in rural area. 2) most of respondents(86%) have intention to living in rural area, and it is different between man and women. 3) most of respondents think distance to hospital is more important than others. Also, women consider location more than men, high income people consider quality of housing more than others, and older people consider neighbor and leisure more than other people. In conclusion, environment of housing in terms of location, community center, and leisure facilities need to be developed.

The purpose of the study is to establish the concept of residential standard, and at the same time to investigate the area of the minimum residential standard in the countries of the world through the preceding studies. In addition, it also aims at establishing the objective residential standard by comparing the residential standard of Korea with that of foreign countries, examining the problems and finding out the matters to be improved through the comparison of the residential standard in advanced countries with the minimum residential standard of Korea. The standard residential area, derived from the process of examining the minimum residential standard, will be used as the basic material for the calculation of the reasonable area in the surface plan for the study of low-cost housing development. The method of the study is to establish the concept of residential standard and at the same time to find out the problems in the minimum residential standard of Korea and improvement methods through the comparison of the residential standards in other countries. As the result of the studies focused on the area among the residential standards, it is found out that the Korea's residential area per capita is established as the least in comparison with that of advanced countries. The real area decided depending on the size of social space suitable for living can play a role in improving the degree of satisfaction in the person's living in the residential area. Therefore, it is urgently necessary to make a depth study on the surface area of the minimum residential standard, and it is also required to propose the residential standard and directions for the improvement of the qualitative level rather the quantitative expansion of residential structures.

This study is aim to execute multiple analysis about housing plan to target middle old aged households. This results can be applied to an important information for housing plan of middle old aged households to search about how does housing plan realized through their consciousness, satisfactions and selection preference of housing. The detailed purpose of this study is stated in below. First, this study shows specific attributes of middle old aged households. Second, this study shows the consciousness of middle old aged households for housing. Third, this study shows the preferences of middle old aged households for housing. Forth, this study also shows the upcoming housing plans through the consideration of their consciousness and preferences for housing selection. All data of this study was achieved through questionnaire survey, personal interview and photo shooting. Totally three hundred seventy copies were used for final analysis to target middle aged people after forties in Ulsan. The questionnaires in this survey were consisted of 5 major items such as the attributes of social demography, housing values, preferences, satisfactions related to results of consciousness and housing choices.
