The purpose of this study is to observe effect on a result of a business performance depending on the business scale and the success factors of quality. Verified hypothesis of the quality of success factors and business performance are conducted in order to conduct this research. The results of hypothesis testing can be summarized as follows : First, depending on the size of the company, quality of corporate success factors in the management and significant positive was verified to be in effect. Second, depending on the size of the small business companies' human resource management, product/process is significantly positive in effect and medium companies' quality information, quality of suppliers in the commercialization of technology is significantly positive in effect. Third, depending on the size of the small business companies' human resource management, product/process financial performance is significantly positive in effect and mid-sized companies, suppliers in the quality significantly positive show the influence of financial performance. The results of measurement through the size of the enterprise and the successful factors of quality impacts on business performance directly.
To investigate the effect of cultural condition on the aflatoxin production of Aspergillus flayus ATCC 15517, mixed culture with Aspergillus niger, better kind of media and size of Cultural vessels were examined. YES medium was better than SLS medium for this study. Small scale test tube culture was showed the possibility to simply examine the growth, total acidity, pH and aflatoxin production during cultivation, and also could reduce the second contamination of aflatoxin B1 from large scale broth cultured. Especially ELISA method is simple, sensitive and specific and therefore well suited to small scale of test tube culture. Mixed culture significantly reduced the aflatoxin production of Aspergillus fiavus ATCC 15517 and showed almost 95% inhibition of that level during the incubtation.
Combustion phenomenon in scale-downed combustor is investigated. As the combustor scale decreases surface to volume ratio increases and chamber size approaches quenching distance. As the combustor scales down surface to volume ratio increases resulting increased heat loss. And this heat loss can affect quenching and instability of the flame. To investigate this effect plastic mini combustor is made. Stoichiometricaly premixed Hydrogen / air gas is used as fuel. Initial chamber pressure and chamber size are varied and the effects are evaluated. Peak pressure decreased with the decrease in chamber height. As initial chamber pressure decreases peak pressure decreases and this change is more important than scale down effect till the chamber height of 1mm. With this result and further information following the experiments design parameter for micro engine can be established.
This paper studies application of modified couple stress theory and first order shear deformation theory to magneto-electro-mechanical vibration analysis of three-layered size-dependent curved beam. The curved beam is resting on Pasternak's foundation and is subjected to mechanical, magnetic and electrical loads. Size dependency is accounted by employing a small scale parameter based on modified couple stress theory. The magneto-electro-mechanical preloads are accounted in governing equations to obtain natural frequencies in terms of initial magneto-electro-mechanical loads. The analytical approach is applied to investigate the effect of some important parameters such as opening angle, initial electric and magnetic potentials, small scale parameter, and some geometric dimensionless parameters and direct and shear parameters of elastic foundation on the magneto-electro-elastic vibration responses.
Recently, the top & down method with drilled shafts as a foundation of high rise building is often adopted for the purpose of construction period reduction and construction cost effectiveness. It is common to omit the loading test as a quality assurance on account of the high capacity of drilled shafts for the top & down method. It seems that the capacity of drilled shaft in recent top & down method is beyond that of conventional loading test method. However, the quality assurance for the drilled shaft as foundation of high rise building becomes much more important since the drilled shaft should bear much higher working load. A small scale test pile can be an alternative as a quality assurance for the drilled shaft with hish capacities. Through a case study, this paper gives an idea for solving the limitation of the conventional loading test method for the quality assurance of drilled shaft with high capacities. In particular, this paper analyzed the scale effect for a small drilled shaft installed into bedrock, which could be used for an alternative.
We examine large-scale environmental effects on the formation and the mass growth of dark matter halos. To facilitate this, we constructed dark matter halo merger trees from a cosmological N-body simulation, which enabled us to trace the merger information and the assembly history of individual halos. In fact, since the massive halos are more likely to be distributed in denser regions than in less dense regions (Mo & White, 1996), the large-scale environment dependence of the properties of halos can be partly originated from the halo mass effect. In order to avoid such contamination, caused by the mass dependence of halo properties, we carefully measured the local overdensity as the indicator of large-scale environment, which was calculated to be as independent of halo mass as possible. Small halos (${\sim}10^{11-12}M_{\odot}$), which usually host isolated single galaxies, show a notable difference on the formation time of galaxies depending on their large-scale environments, which reconfirms halo assembly bias (Gao & White, 2007). Furthermore, we investigate how this environmental effect on small halos is correlated with the mass assembly history of galaxies by using our semi-analytic model. We found that assembly bias in small halos does not have significant effects on the formation time or on the star formation history of galaxies residing in those halos except for the individual stellar mass of galaxies at z = 0. On average, isolated galaxies in high-density regions tend to be slightly more massive than those in low-density regions. Although the observational data from the current galaxy surveys is not yet sufficient for testing this prediction, future galaxy surveys will be able to explore these small galaxies more thoroughly.
This study was conducted to promote reliability of the simulated result for the long-term streamflow in Daecheong watershed. This system was constructed by the SSARR model that considered the effect of small scale irrigation facilities. We investigated the present condition of small scale irrigation facilities and analyzed the relation between irrigation facilities and river discharge. According to the analysis result about the effect of irrigation facilities, the error occurrence frequency was increased at the sub-basin that has many reservoirs and during the second quarter except for the 2003 year. Therefore, we created the relative equation between small irrigation facilities and river water and estimated the simulated streamflow for the main stations. Consequently, error of the runoff simulated with considering small scale irrigation facilities was decreased than that without considering small scale irrigation facilities at all.

The main objective of this study is to observe the effect of visco-elastic damper on seismic behavior of structure. A small shaking table was designed and manufactured using the materials and machinery available in the market by the authors. Also, two small-scale models with and without visco-elastic dampers were made. Dynamic characteristics, such as natural periods and damping ratios, were measured with free vibration tests. Finally, the earthquake simulations tests by using this shaking table were performed to these models. Based on the test results, the effect of visco-elastic damper on the seismic response of models is evaluated.

It is recently reported that bond failure can be initiated in the region where maximum bending moment and shear force is acted by accompanying shear deformation after flexural crack in full-scale RC beams strengthened by CFRP. Such a shear deformation effect causing bond failure is relatively little in the case of small-scale specimens. So, additional reinforcing details to the critical beam section where maximum moment and shear were acted is required to prevent the bond failure caused by the shear deformations. The U-type wrapping methods by CFRP to the critical beam section is proposed and tested in this paper. Also, the applicability of design bond strength derived from the tests of small-scale beam was investigated by the full-scale RC beam strengthened by CFRP.
This study aimed to develop hypertension control programs and to analyse their effects in small scale enterprises. The program was self-efficacy promoting program for worker with hypertension. The target population of the programs are 67 workers. The program was conducted for 18 weeks after a pre- intervention survey. Data were analyzed by the SAS program with paired t-test. The results of the study are as follows; First, after the program, scores on self-efficacy were increased significantly. Second, after the program, life-style change was increased significantly. Third, the blood pressure level was diminished in the program. The workers have lost systolic blood pressure by 18mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by 13mmHg. In conclusion, the self-efficacy promoting program is an effective intervention to lower the blood pressure. Thus this program can be recommended as an intervention program of hypertension in small scale enterprises.
