This paper discusses the behavior of post-tensioned and shaped hypar space truss, with consideration of the influence of removing some web members. Hypar space truss is post-tensioned at the bottom chords of one diagonal on the ground; the essential behavior characteristic of shape formation is discussed by using a small-scale test model. Results of experiments and nonlinear finite-element analysis indicate that a planar, rectangular- arranged structure can be deformed to a predicted hyper shape, by the proposed shape formation method. Also the feasibility of the proposed method for furnishing of a hypar shaped face truss has been presented, under the condition of both non-removed and partially removed web members. It follows that a nonlinear finite element analysis method can be used in predicting the behavior of the space shape and the post-tensioning force in sharing of hypar space truss. Further, in comparison to the other cases, the results of test and analysis show that the active diagonal shaping in the non-removed web members and passive diagonal shaping of partially removed web members are in relatively good agreement.
In this paper, the single-phase static VAR compensator (SVC) is applied to regulate and stabilize the generated terminal voltage of the single-phase self-excited induction generator (single-phase SEIG) driven by a variable-speed prime mover (VSPM) under the conditions of the independent inductive load variations and the prime mover speed changes The conventional fixed gain PI controller-based feedback control scheme is employed to adjust the equivalent capacitance of the single-phase SVC composed of the fixed excitation capacitor FC in parallel with the thyristor switched capacitor TSC and the thyristor controlled reactor TCR The feedback closed-loop terminal voltage responses in the single-phase SEIG coupled by a VSPM with different inductive passive load disturbances using the single-phase SVC with the PI controller are considered and discussed herem. A VSPM coupled the single-phase SEIG prototype setup is established. Its experimental results are illustrated as compared with its simulation ones and give good agreements with the digital simulation results for the single-phase SEIG driven by a VSPM, which is based on the SVC voltage regulation feedback control scheme.
In electric power industry. load balance has been one of the most fundamental and important management goals. Therefore. the strategy to achieve high quality load management now includes load balance besides the stabilization of electricity supply and quality management of electricity. Amongst many techniques of load management. direct load management has been actively studied and utilized to increase power facility and peak load suppression. Higher peak load situation is appeared during summer than during winter in Korea. and approximately 20% of the peak load is due to the load for air-conditioning. To cope with this peak load problem during summer KEPCO is performing a research project to develop a system to remotely control air-conditioning load using wireless communication. Currently, applicable facilities are limited to small-scale air-conditioning facility that has less than 2KW power capacity. This paper described the 1st year of efforts made in the study.
For the large scale computation of turbulent flows around an arbitrarily shaped body, a parallel LES (large eddy simulation) code has been recently developed in which domain decomposition method is adopted. METIS and MPI (message Passing interface) libraries are used for domain partitioning and data communication between processors, respectively. For unsteady computation of the incompressible Wavier-Stokes equation, 4-step splitting finite element algorithm [1] is adopted and Smagorinsky or dynamic LES model can be chosen fur the modeling of small eddies in turbulent flows. For the validation and performance-estimation of the parallel code, a three-dimensional laminar flow generated by natural convection inside a cube has been solved. Then, we have solved the turbulent flow around MIRA (Motor Industry Research Association) model at $Re = 2.6\times10^6$, which is based on the model height and inlet free stream velocity, using 32 processors on IBM SMP cluster and compared with the existing experiment.
Sinusoidal wavy channel is one of the most commonly used devices in the industry for achieving mixing and heat transfer. Here we report on results obtained from the DNS of flow inside the wavy channel performed using the finite volume technique. As a primary stage to obtain the optimal design for heat transfer and mixing, this study observed the basic flow structures in a wavy channel. The mass flow rate is kept constant with friction Reynolds number of $Re_{\tau}$ = 140 . Time- and space-averaged and instantaneous flow fields are illustrated to observe the flow structures. Although the direct comparison of results between turbulent wavy and flat channel is somehow difficult due to the different flow phenomena derived from different configuration, here the mean streamwise velocity and RMS of velocities at same $Re_{\tau}$ of two different channels are compared. The basic difference between wavy and flat channel flow is the existence of small scale wall vortices along the walls in a wavy channel. These vortices make flow more complex, which will accompany the increase of heat transfer, pressure drop and drag.

The multimedia contents are diffused rapidly. Also, the course individual service of communication and broadcasting coexists with each other and develop to the integrated fusion service with development of the high speed broadband IP network technology. The IPTV which is representative broadcasting a communication total service is the powerful application field. The communication industry has been interested in data processing of the high-definition that supports many kinds of internet service by internet protocol. In this paper, we configure the standard routing protocol use in the small scaled, on RIP environment and the link status routing protocol use the large scale autonomous network, on OSPF environment. We also measure and evaluate broadcasting quality by PSNR(Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio). Finally, we propose the network construction plan for IPTV services which are efficient.
Fisheries constitute an important sector in national economic development, and estimate to contribute about 3% of the total GDP and 5% of the GDP in agriculture. Fish production from aquaculture has been estimated at 950 tonnes for 2004. In 2003, Ghana produced only 51.7% of its requirements from its domestic sources and in 2004, achieved 68.1% of its fish requirement through domestic production and imports. It has been estimated that the production from ponds and culture-based fisheries is worth about US$ 1.5 million a year. The aquaculture sub sector comprises largely small-scale subsistence farmers who practice extensive aquaculture in earthen ponds in contrast to the intensive practices of commercial farmers. There is one cage facility which produces 200 tonnes or 21.1% of the total output. There are several laws to regulate and govern the sector and the government has set up institutions that are responsible for developing fisheries and aquaculture policy and directing and establishing research priorities. The Directorate of Fisheries (DoF) is the lead government agency for aquaculture development and the Water Research Institute of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is mandated to carry out aquaculture research. To promote fish farming, imports of farm fish are not allowed.

Sudan is the largest country in Africa with an area of $2,505,810km^2$, of water constitutes $129,810km^2$, and cultivable land is 34%. Sudan has a total land boundary of 7,687 km with 9 border countries. This vast country embraces different vegetation patterns reflecting various climatic zones, grading from tropical rain forests in the south through semi-tropical savannah to arid zone in the extreme north, with annual rainfall ranging from 1,600 mm in the south to 25 mm in the north. The aquaculture industry is not developed as yet. Because of their basic characteristics, the Sudan inland and marine capture fisheries are of a small-scale and semi-industrial nature. The demand for fish and fish preparations is growing steadily. The animal resources sector (which includes fisheries) contributes 21% of Sudan GDP. The contribution of fisheries to Sudanese GDP is currently marginal. The per caput supply is only 1.6 kg/year, which is mostly obtained by capture fish landings. Despite the fact that fisheries GDP is extremely low, fish and fish preparations contribute to the food security of a wide sector of the rural and urban communities. Fisheries also provide work opportunities in the form of secondary employment as a source of income that indirectly contributes to household food security.
This paper reports a case study of SevenBräu, the first company to acquire a license for small and medium scale beer manufacturing in Korea. This study explores how SevenBräu analyzed its consumers, competition, and environment to set its target market and successfully positioned itself to explore new markets in Korea. The company accomplished this through a mixture of marketing strategies with differentiated products and consumer benefits. SevenBräu has been growing fast and establishing its image as a "high-quality craft beer locally produced in a traditional way" and a "beer with regional characteristics," with young consumers (aged 20 to 35) as the main target. Such remarkable growth of SevenBräu can be attributed to factors such as: (1) product differentiation to satisfy the needs of consumers for taste, flavor, diversity, and freshness, (2) developing brands with regional characteristics and actively communicating its strategy through earned and owned media, and (3) sustainable management, considering both social value creation and environmental performance. Lastly, this case study presents challenges in the areas of brand management, value delivery network, and communication that SevenBräu needs to address in the beer market that faces increasing competition.
In today's civilization, it can be impossible to prevent disasters that cause large-scale human and material harm, and the environmental industry is not excepted from this. Over the last 50 years, several large and small environmental health catastrophes have occurred in Korea. Notable instances include the phenol pollution accident in the Nakdong River, the Hebei Spirit oil spill in Taean, Chungcheongnam-do, and the humidifier disinfectant disaster. Looking at these instances, it is clear that the government failed to prevent similar incidents and accidents after the tragedies. The government created and executed different policies to prevent such incidents and accidents, but the majority of them were highly fragmented. It is understandable that depending on the political and social level of the society in which the environmental health hazard incident/accident happened, the investigation of the cause, countermeasures, and policy reaction may differ. To put it another way, the more authoritarian and non-democratic a political social system is, the more likely it is to cover up occurrences and accidents without a deep examination. This is in line with the members of society's level of political awareness and acknowledgment of the importance of life and safety. In 1985, when the Onsan pollution disease was discovered, and in 2011, when we recognized the realities of the humidifier disinfectant disaster, South Korea's political and social systems were entirely different.
