Purpose: This study suggests observational gait analysis (OGA) strategies for therapists with limited experience in clinics in evaluating patients with stroke during walking. Methods: The proposed model was the mnemonic STEP APP, whose initials refer to the process of OGA for clinical reasoning and decision-making by identifying problems during walking in patients with stroke. Results: STEP APP stands for step (S), tibia (T), events (E), phases (P), ankle (A), problems (P), and priority (P). It serves as a procedural guide for OGA in patients with stroke walking on the ground. Conclusion: This review suggests a simple evaluation of gait using OGA that can be used by therapists who have less experience and difficulty in evaluating patients with stroke during walking. However, it is important to consider the front and back views of motion as well as motion in the transverse plane in order to analyze problems accurately. Furthermore, small joint problems, such as those in the foot, should be considered when evaluating patients with stroke during walking.

Recently, the cityward tendency of the population has caused the construction of a high rise apartment increased, because it is possible for many people to dwell on a small ground area in an apartment. In the future the number of the constructed high-rise apartment units will also increase, because many people require a better environment and more improved space of their life. However, apartment buildings with many dwellers in spite of small area are exposed to great dangers, particularly fire. So the adaptable control methods of smoke which is the most dangerous to people in a fire were proposed by an analysis on some standards for the fire in this study.

This paper suggests the PIFA structure modified antenna in which short-circuit plate is located between planar element and ground plane, in order to solve the problem of narrow band of existing internal antenna, PIFA. It is also suggested that internal antenna has the perturbation in the patch to broaden the frequency bandwidth. It is possible that the antenna is installed into the mobile telephone with a low profile condition(h=0.015 λ) to use internally, and acquired desired bandwidth(5.2 %) through double resonance structure, remodeling the PIFA that is already well-known as an internal antenna. This paper investigated how characteristic is affected by the feeding point(Yf, Zf), short strip plate(Zs), short strip width(Ws), perturbation width(w), length(d), short plate height(h), dielectric($\varepsilon$$\_$r/) to be slim type antenna. It is compared with existing PIFA bandwidth, and is suggested pattern as the H.E plane. It is simulated using the Microwave Studio of the CST Inc. based on FIM(Finite Integration Method) method and analyzed antenna characteristic following the variation each parameters. The result proved the practical use of PIFA antenna by comparing the measured and simulated data of the antenna.

A small size broadband microstrip patch antenna with small ground plane has been fabricated using MEMS. Multiple layer substrates we used to realize small size and broadband characteristics. The microstrip patch is divided into 4 pieces and each patch is connected to each other using a metal microstrip line. The fabrication please process is simple and only one mask is needed. Two types of microtrip antennas are fabrication Type A is the microstrip antenna with metal lines and type B is the microstrip antenna without metal lines. The size of proposed microstip antenna is $8{\times}12{\times}2mm^3$ and the experimental results show that the antenna type A and type B have the bandwidth of 420MHz at 5.3 GHz and 480MHz at 5.66 GHz, respectively

The influence due to metallic particle contaminated on spacer surface is remarkable in the decreasing of dielectric strength in $SF_6$ GIS. In relation with this problem, We studied, AC flash-over voltage characteristics and breakdown mechanism are investigated under metallic particle initiated condition in $SF_6$ gas by varying the particle position, particle shape with a plane-plane electrode. The main results arc as follows 1. The small amount of the metallic particle in the gap do not make flash-over voltage to be influence, but the significant decrease of th flash-overed voltage is result in case of the big and long size of the metallic paraticle. 2. Influence of the flash-over voltage are lowest in the mid and are highest in the electrode of metallic particle position. 3. In case of the initiated metallie particle, The more the pressure are high, the more the recluced ratio of flash-over voltage are high. 4. The metallic particle shape which results in the reduced flash-over voltage forced the critical pressure to move in to the region of low pressure. 5. The existance of the metallic particle on the upper electrode side and high pressure make the decreasing ratio of flash-over voltage bigger than that of the ground side electrode.

In this paper, an antenna which has dipole-like radiation pattern and low profile is proposed. The antenna is composed of four elements slot array based on L-shaped 0.43 $\lambda_g$ slot element. It presents a omni-directional radiation patter in the azimuth plane and has a null toward broad-side direction. In the design, a small mono-pole antenna which acts as a large capacitance element, combined with the partially removed ground plane by four L-shaped slots. As a result, these structure act as a LC resonator for radiation. The measured result shows, the impedance bandwidth(VSWR$\leq$2) of the proposed antenna is 60 MHz(2.35$\sim$2.41 GHz). The measured maximum radiation gain and efficiency of proposed antenna is 0.02 dBi, 56.7 % at center frequency 2.38 GHz, respectively. The proposed antenna can be applied to wireless tan access point system.
A compact imaging spectrometer (COMIS) for use in the STSAT3 microsatellite is currently under development. It is scheduled to be launched into a low Sun-synchronous Earth orbit (${\sim}700km$) by the end of 2010. COMIS was inspired by the success of CHRIS, which is a small hyperspectral imager developed for the ESA microsatellite PROBA. COMIS is designed to achieve nearly equivalent imaging capabilities of CHRIS in a smaller (65 mm diameter and 4.3 kg mass) and mechanically superior (in terms of alignment and robustness) package. Its main operational goal will be the imaging of Earth's surface and atmosphere with ground sampling distances of ${\sim}30m$ at the $18{\sim}62$ spectral bands ($4.0{\sim}1.05{\mu}m$). This imaging will be used for environmental monitoring, such as the in-land water quality monitoring of Paldang Lake, which is located next to Seoul, South Korea. The optics of COMIS consists of two parts: imaging telescope and dispersing relay optics. The imaging telescope, which operates at an f-ratio of 4.6, forms an image (of Earth's surface or atmosphere) onto an intermediate image plane. The dispersion relay optics disperses the image and relay it onto a CCD plane. All COMIS lenses and mirrors are spherical and are made from used silica exclusively. In addition, the optics is designed such that the optical axis of the dispersed image is parallel to the optical axis of the telescope. Previous efforts focused on manufacturing ease, alignment, assembly, testing, and improved robustness in space environments.

In this paper, we measured the propagation path loss by a ground to air flight communication test at UHF band and analyzed the results. The ground receiving terminal was located at 1,100m above sea level in Cheju Island and the airborne transmit terminal flew at an altitude of 3.5km from 150 to 220km from the ground terminal. In this case, the ground terminal and the airborne terminal are on the Line of Sight. Therefore loss in this communications environment can be predicted based on Free Space Loss. However, in this test, the sea level exists between two terminals, and due to the very small angle of incidence on the reflecting surface due to the long-range communication environment, it is not possible to accurately predict the loss of free space only. Therefore, considering that there are no surrounding obstacles and that a line of sight is secured between the end of two terminals, we applied a plane earth reflection model and a spherical earth reflection model to estimate the propagation path loss and compared with the actual test results. As a result of the comparison, the predicted propagation path loss by a spherical earth reflection model were quite similar to the actual test values.

The outer surface of an irregular structure contains panels with two-directional curvature called NURBS. To construct these forms of exterior materials, complex geometric surface should be divided into forms and sizes that can be manufactured and constructed. Because the bigger the curvatures of these divided exterior panel, the more expensive the construction costs, these complex two-directional curvatures should go through optimal process of reinterpretation to minimize the curved surfaces with complex two-directional curvatures. Yet, to gain higher ground in technological competition in the field of irregular structure construction, companies do not share know-how that they obtained. Accordingly, small construction and design companies have trouble calculating even rough estimate and cannot adjust expected construction cost based on comparison of design alternatives. Given this situation, this study conducted the research that can support decision-making in the design stage of the construction and provide basic material for optimal range to reduce manufacturing cost by the minimizing the distorted plane of the irregular structure.
