GPS의 수신기 개발을 위한 기초연구 (A Basic Study on the Design of the GPS Receiver)

  • In this paper, author studied on the elementary data required for the design of the receiver of Pseudo Noise (PN) phase modulation communication adopted in Global Positioning System(GPS). By computer simulation technique, the phase modulator, filters, and PN generator are designed, and also required bandwidth of R-F amplifier for carrier frequency in phase modulation system is investigated. It is verified that the optimum bandwidth is about 3 times of the PN frequency and almost independent of the carrier frequency. And the low pass filter required for demodulation of slow Boolean data is also found to be about 60 times of the data signal frequency.

토끼 동방결절에서의 완만내향전류$(i_{si})$에 관한 연구 (Properties of Slow Inward Current in the Rabbit Sinoatrial Node)

  • The voltage clamp studies were undertaken to elucidate the properties of the slow inward current, $i_{si}$, in the small preparations of the rabbit sinoatrial node. The slow inward current, $i_{si}$, which is known to be responsible for the late one-third of pacemaker potential and whole range of upstroke phase of action potential was analysed with the effects of isoprenaline, cobalt, ouabain and higenamine. The results obtained are as follows; 1) Voltage of SA node preparation was held at zero current level, usually-40mV and the slow inward current, $i_{si}$, was activated by depolarizing clamp pulses. Peak values of $i_{si}$, in steady state were at $-10{\pm}0mV$ in most preparations. 2) Isoprenaline, ${\beta}-agonist$ increased $i_{si}$ and no shift was noticed in voltage-dependency. 3) Cobalt ion in the concentration of 1 mM abolished is, in entire range of membrane potential and the difference of two current levels before and after $Co^{2+}$ treatment could be considered as pure $i_{si}$ magnitude. 4) In the therapeutic concentration of ouabain $(5{\times}10^{-8}M)$ slightly increased is, and reduced the time to reach the peak value. 5) Higenamine $(10^{-6}M)$ changed the configurations of action potential (i. e. rapid upstroke phase and notch in the spike) and increase spontaneous rate. It also increased is, and the effect of higenamine was blocked ${\beta}-blocker$, propranolol $(10^{-6}M)$.

광대역 무선 네트워크에서 효율적인 멀티미디어 전송을 위한 혼잡 제어 기법 (Congestion Control Scheme for Efficient Multimedia Transmission in Broadband Wireless Networks)

  • 광대역 무선 네트워크 환경에서 TCP의 혼잡 제어 알고리즘은 미디어 스트리밍 서비스가 요구하는 대역폭 및 지연 한계를 보장하기 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 효율적인 멀티미디어 전송을 위한 혼잡 제어 기법인 COLO TCP(Concave Increase Slow Start Logarithmic Increase Congestion Avoidance TCP)를 제안하였다. COLO TCP는 저속증가 (Slow Start) 구간에서 오목 증가 (Concave Increase) 알고리즘을 적용하여 다량의 패킷 손실을 방지한다. 혼잡회피 (Congestion Avoidance) 구간에서는 패킷 손실 이후 감소된 혼잡 윈도우를 빠르게 복구하는 로그 증가(Logarithmic Increase) 알고리즘을 사용한다. 또한 높은 네트워크 활용도와 패킷 손실률의 감소를 위해 가산 증가(Additive Increase) 알고리즘과 적응 감소 (Adaptive Decrease) 알고리즘을 적용하였다. 실험 결과를 통해 COLO TCP가 효율적인 멀티미디어 데이터 전송이 가능한 것을 확인하였다.

A Study of Solar Eruption : The Case of 2011 Sep. 29 Event

  • Filament eruptions are one of the energetic phenomena on the solar surface with flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs). We observed the whole process of filament eruption that occurred in AR 11305 in association with a C5.6 flare on 2011 September 29th using the Fast Imaging Solar Spectrograph (FISS) and the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). The eruption consists of a slow phase with a transverse speed of ~10 km $s^{-1}$ in 16 minutes and a fast phase with a transverse speed of ~200 km $s^{-1}$ in 3 minutes. Near the beginning of slow phase eruption, preflare brightening occurred beneath the filament in $H{\alpha}$ and some EUV images. The preflare brightening region is associated with a blue-shifted $H{\alpha}$ feature with a speed of ~60 km $s^{-1}$. It appears that this is the outflow from magnetic reconnection which may have occurred at relatively low atmosphere. Our result support the notion that the preflare brightening is a process of magnetic reconnection playing an important role in triggering the filament eruption by deformative the magnetic field lines under the eruptive filament.

Radar Measurement of Slow Deformation in the Baekdusan Stratovolcano

  • Baekdusan is a Cenozoic stratovolcano in which a series of micro-seismic events and gaseous emissions have been reported in 1990s. Two-pass DInSAR technique was applied to determine displacement in the volcano by using 10 ERS SAR and 41 JERS-1 SAR datasets. Most interferometric phases out of 58 JERS-1 differential interferograms showed concentric fringe patterns that correlated with elevation. From an analysis of fringe-duration relation, the fringe patterns were found to be severely distorted specifically by stratified troposphere. To estimate the tropospheric delay, we used the data in the Sobaeksan located about 20 km away from the summit of Baekdusan. The maximum and mean magnitudes of the phase delay in the Baekdusan were respectively 13.8 cm and 3.8 cm over 1200 m in altitude. After removing tropospheric effects, a mean inflation rate was estimated to be about 3 mm per year from 1992 to 1998. Although the inflation rate of the volcano is inconclusive without ground truth data, the results indicate that there exists slow upward deformation in the Baekdusan volcano.

Improved DC Offset Error Compensation Algorithm in Phase Locked Loop System

  • This paper proposes a dc error compensation algorithm using dq-synchronous coordinate transform digital phase-locked-loop in single-phase grid-connected converters. The dc errors are caused by analog to digital conversion and grid voltage during measurement. If the dc offset error is included in the phase-locked-loop system, it can cause distortion in the grid angle estimation with phase-locked-loop. Accordingly, recent study has dealt with the integral technique using the synchronous reference frame phase-locked-loop method. However, dynamic response is slow because it requires to monitor one period of grid voltage. In this paper, the dc offset error compensation algorithm of the improved response characteristic is proposed by using the synchronous reference frame phase-locked-loop. The simulation and the experimental results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed dc offset error compensation algorithm.

병렬 오픈 스터브가 연결된 전송선로를 이용한 전력분배기 (Power Divider using Shunt Open-Stub Loaded Transmission Line)

  • 본 논문은 저속파 특성을 갖고 있는 오픈 스터브가 연결된 전송선로를 이용하여 배글리(Bagley) 다각형과 지셀(Gysel) 분배기 설계를 제안한 것이다. 이러한 저속파 특성을 갖고 있는 구조는 짧은 길이의 전송선로와 병렬로 연결된 오픈 스터브의 캐패시턴스 때문에 특성 임피던스와 위상 속도의 감소 때문에 회로의 소자의 크기를 작게 구현할 수 있다. 이러한 특성을 확인하여 위하여 중심주파수 2.1 GHz에서 기존의 배글리 다각형과 지셀 분배기를 저속파 특성을 이용하여 분배기를 구현하였으며, 그 전기적 특성은 두 종류의 분배기가 동일하지만 저속파 특성을 이용한 분배기의 크기를 각각 15 % 이상 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Effects of Artificial Supercooling Followed by Slow Freezing on the Microstructure and Qualities of Pork Loin

  • This study investigated the effects of artificial supercooling followed by still air freezing (SSF) on the qualities of pork loin. The qualities of pork frozen by SSF were compared with the fresh control (CT, stored at 4℃ for 24 h), slow freezing (SAF, still air freezing) and rapid freezing (EIF, ethanol immersion freezing) treatments. Compared with no supercooling phenomena of SAF and EIF, the extent of supercooling obtained by SSF treatment was 1.4℃. Despite that SSF was conducted with the same method with SAF, application of artificial supercooling accelerated the phase transition (traverse from -0.6℃ to -5℃) from 3.07 h (SAF) to 2.23 h (SSF). The observation of a microstructure indicated that the SSF prevented tissue damage caused by ice crystallization and maintained the structural integrity. The estimated quality parameters reflected that SSF exhibited superior meat quality compared with slow freezing (SAF). SSF showed better water-holding capacity (lower thawing loss, cooking loss and expressible moisture) and tenderness than SAF, and these quality parameters of SSF were not significantly different with ultra-fast freezing treatment (EIF). Consequently, the results demonstrated that the generation of supercooling followed by conventional freezing potentially had the advantage of minimizing the quality deterioration caused by the slow freezing of meat.

자가영양과 타가영양 조건하에서 Thiobacillus novellus의 생리 및 성장 (Growth and Physiology of Thiobacillus novellus under Autotrophic and Heterotrophic Conditions)

  • The growth of T. novellus in auto trophic and geterotrophic media was studied to determine the time required for cells to enter stationary phase and relative percentage of ribosomal proteins. When T. novellus was grown autotrophically, growth proceeded at a slow rate characteristic of autotrophs and did not enter log phase until the end of the first day. Logarithmic growth proceeded for 3-4 days at which time the cells entered the stationary phase. In particular, logarithmic growth was accompanied by decreasing pH of culture media and in the stationary phase the pH levelled off at 6.0, a decrease of 1.6 pH value compared to original pH of media. The pH decrease was greatest during log phase when cells oxidized thiosulfate to $H_{2}$$SO_{4}$. The doubling time was about 26h. In heterotrophic media growth proceeded at a much faster rate and cells entered stationary phase 20-22h after inoculation. The doubling time was 3h. The protein content of the ribosomes in T. novellus grown heterotrophically was 4.2% greater than those from the organism grown autotrophically.

ZVT 방식을 적용한 SRM 구동용 컨버터 (A ZVT applied SRM converter)

  • A ZVT (zero voltage transition) converter for SRM (switched reluctance motor) drives is proposed in this study. By adding a ZVT-chopping switch in the front-end, all switches in the machine side converter can be operated without any chopping to regulate phase current. This allows the use of low-cost and slow-switching devices for the machine side converter. The ZVT circuitry allows high frequency operation of th echopping switch, which enhnaces the system dynamcis and phase-current ripples. High efficiency of th eintegrated converter is obtained due to low switching losses.
