A Study on the Comparative Analysis of Slim Pants Patterns for Men in Their 20s

  • The purpose of this study was to select patterns for slim fit pants, for the following main research, to develop new pants patterns that are suitable and preferable for men in their 20s. We compared and analyzed the patterns of which are currently in the market. We compared 10 different slim pants pattern drafting and analyzed their differences. Then, we examined their appearances and functionalities thru a male model test fitting 10 different samples of the pants. The conclusions of the research results were as follows. We listed the patterns in the following order based on the numbers of items each pattern has, which are statistically considerable for the evaluation to the optimum satisfactory level among the total of 35 testing categories: J > B=I > F=H > A > C=G > D > E. In the functionality test of the pants, we found that it was too tight around the waist and abdomen area with Pattern D, where-as it was too loose around the waist with Pattern C:,-, yet, both of the patterns indicated that it is a good fit in over-all. Therefore, we chose Pattern E, D, C, and G as the existing pants patterns that could be used for further research and for educational purposes to develop a slim pants pattern for men in their 20s.

  • Recently, the need for slim type optical disk drive(ODD) has increased with popularization of lightweight notebook. Because of its lightweight and small structure, slim type ODD has low structural stiffness and it is weak to high-speed disk vibration. In this paper, Finite Element(FE) Model of slim type ODD is constructed and verified by experimental modal analysis. Additionally, sensitivity analysis is performed about structural parameters. As a result of sensitivity analysis, improved characteristic is verified by experiments using a sample of new model.

The Comparative Study on Perception and Satisfaction of Somatotype of University Woman Students (여대생의 체형 인식도와 만족도 차이 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the actual somatotype and perceptual somatotype, and to compare actual somaotype with ideal somatotype, and to explore segmentation based on perception of slim/obese somatotype. The respondents included 201 female student volunteers, aged 19 to 27, who were enrolled at university in Busan. Data were analyzed by paired t-test, correlation analysis, cluster analysis, and ANOVA. The results were as follows; The subjects tended to be satisfied with long and slim, slim limbs, and preferred to be tall in height and light in weight. And perceptual somatotype was related to satisfaction of somatotype. Cluster analysis was female college students to identify groups of respondents based on the perception of somatotype(all the body, the upper half of the body, the lower half of the body)difference factors. Based on the finding, three distinct groups were formed: slim tendency group, moderators tendency group, obese tendency group. There were a significant among slim tendency group, moderators tendency group, and obese tendency group base on the perceptual somatotype. There were significant differences among the three groups in terms of perception of somatotype and satisfaction of somatotype.

  • An experimental study was carried out to study the solid-liquid mixture upward flow in a vertical and inclined annulus with rotating inner cylinder. Lift forces acting on a fluidized particle plays a central role in many importance applications, such as the removal of drill cuttings in horizontal drill holes, sand transport in fractured reservoirs, sediment transport and cleaning of particles from surfaces, etc. Field measurements have revealed that the pressure drop over a borehole during drilling of a slim oil well or a well with a long reach can depend significantly on the rotation speed of the drill pipe. An accurate prediction of the annular frictional pressure drop is therefore important for conditions where the annular clearance is small. Effect of annulus inclination and drill pipe rotation on the carrying capacity of drilling fluid, particle rising velocity, and pressure drop in the slim hole annulus have been measured for fully developed flows of water and of aqueous solutions.

  • This research was done to classify lower body types by direct measurements, side and back view types from waistline to gluteal furrow line individually, and to analyze correspondence these lower body types with side and back view types from waistline to gluteal furrow line. The subjects of this study were 191 female college students from 18 to 25 years old residing in Pusan urban area. Type 1(long and slim) of lower body types by direct measurements was correspond with Type 1(slim curve) and Type 4(slim and protrusive hip) of side view and Type 3(wide and curve) and Type 4(trapezoid shape) of back view. Type 2(short and thick) of lower body types was correspond with Type 3(thick and droopy hip) of side view and Type 1(wide and straight) of back view. Type 3(short and slim) of lower body types was correspond with Type 2(slim and flat hip) of side view and Type 2(narrow and curve) of back view.

Comparison Research on the Patterns of No-Tuck Slim-Fitting Slacks for Young Men in Their 20s

  • Because young men's slacks are becoming more slim-fitting today, this study attempts to identify room for improvement by comparing and analyzing the patterns of men's slacks in the literature and those of manufacturers. Selected for the study are two patterns from the literature and one from manufacturers (Slacks A, B, C); those from studies are slim silhouette pants with no tucking around the waist at the front. Subjects for the Fit tests and the pattern designs were men in their twenties with average body shapes in accordance with the figures in Size Korea 2010. Pants were made from muslin fabric and the Fit tests were carried out with three subjects and a panel of five experts to evaluate comfort and appearance. The analysis of the patterns revealed that Slacks A were the longest followed by C and then B. Slacks C had the most girth ease, and Slacks B were the slimmest in both length and girth. Movement tests showed Slacks A to be the most comfortable followed by B and then C. The appearance test found that Slacks B were the most attractive, followed by A, and then C. The fits at the front, back and sides of all three pants were more or less the same. We suggest that more studies be done on pants patterns adjusting them for proper ease and using elastic fabric in order to maintain the slim fit and also to be comfortable to wear.

  • In order to determine an operating pattern of SLIM in an experimental MAGLEV vehicle, operating characteristics of SLIM are obtained using a disk type test facility. The test results are compared with the pre-estimated values. It is found that a closed loop control is required for operating at a constant slip-frequency condition which makes the normal force minimum.

  • This paper presents a fundanental method to analyze and design a Single-sided Linear Induction Motor(SLIM) as a propulsion system for magnetic levitation vehicles of DAEJEON EXPO'93 in Korea. The performance characteristics of the designed SLIM are examinated by the thrust force, the normal force, the efficiency and the power factor according to the change of input frequency. The dimension of the SLIM is 1792mm long ${\times}$ 200mm width ${\times}$ 58mm high and the rated thrust is 1300 Newtons at the operating speed of 40 Km/h.

  • This paper investigated optimal design for slim wall mount arm for flat TV. Recently the number of flat TV sets in use went on increasing in TV market. As the flat TV sets are getting common, consumers came to need another requirements like aesthetic factor besides display performances. As the new TV sets tend to be slimmer due to aesthetic design, Wall mount also requires to be slimmer for aesthetic balance. Slim structures, however, are vulnerable to structural rigidity. In this study, slim wall mount arm has been designed by 3D CAD and DOE (Design of Experiments) and finite element analysis for optimal structural design were carried out to determine the design variables for minimize working stress of wall mount arm. Finally two optimal design conditions were selected through DOE and FEM and one of those was chosen under constraint of minimizing blanking developed length.

  • Slim Floor construction method has to increase the available surface area thereby reducing the depth beams and slab. In addition, In this study compostie beam assembly of plates, square-shape steel pipe and deck plate. So workabiltiy is superior to the upper concrete possible without formwork. In the present study is strength test in progress in development slim floor composite beam used plate and perforated square shape steel pipe and obtained anlysis and conclustion of the experimental results.
