Acetyl hexapeptide 함유 크림이 안면 피부 변화에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Cream containing Acetyl hexapeptide upon the Facial Skin)

  • 나이를 먹으면 피부의 구조와 생리적 기능이 계속적인 감퇴를 일으켜서 노화된다. 외적요인에 의한 노화는 장기간에 걸친 자외선의 노출로 인한 광노화와 바람, 열, 담배 등이 원인으로 내인성 노화를 촉진시키거나 그 자체도 피부노화를 유발한다. 팔미토일 올리고 펩타이드 또는 세라마이드 올리고 펩타이드는 콜라겐 생산을 자극함으로써 피부의 상층부를 재생하며 아세틸 헥사펩타이드는 피하근육과 피부를 유연하게 하여 주름을 완화하는 성분으로 보톡스 대체 항주름 성분으로 대표적인 고기능성 뷰티성분이다. 대조군과 아세틸 헥사펩타이드 함유 7%, 14%, 20% 성분을 실험 군 A, B, C로 나눠서 주름의 변화, 모공의 변화, 수분량 변화, 과각질의 변화를 분석하였다. 아세틸 헥사펩타이드 함유 성분 분석 결과 통계적으로 주름과 모공, 수분에는 대조군에 비해 영향을 준 것으로 보이며, 과각질의 제거에서는 대조군과 실험군의 값에서 비슷한 결과를 얻을 수 있어 피시험자의 자가 평가의 만족도에서 주름과 모공, 수분에는 대조군에 비해 영향을 준 것으로 보이며, 과각질의 제거에서는 대조군과 실험군의 값에서 비슷한 결과를 얻었다.

Effects of Gelatin Hydrolysates Addition on Technological Properties and Lipid Oxidation of Cooked Sausage

  • This study investigated the impacts of gelatin hydrolysate addition on the technological properties and lipid oxidation stability of cooked sausage. Gelatin hydrolysate was prepared from pork and duck skin gelatin, through stepwise hydrolysis using collagenase and pepsin. The cooked sausages were formulated without gelatin (control) or with 1% pork skin gelatin, 1% duck skin gelatin, 1% pork skin gelatin hydrolysate, and 1% duck skin gelatin hydrolysate. The pH, color characteristics, protein solubility, cooking loss, and textural properties of cooked sausages were evaluated, and the 2-thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) value was measured weekly to determine lipid oxidation stability during 4 wk of refrigerated storage. Enzymatic hydrolysis of gelatin decreased protein content and CIE L* but increased redness and yellowness (p<0.05). When 1% gelatin or gelatin hydrolysate was incorporated in cooked sausage, however, little to no impacts on pH value, moisture content, protein content, color characteristics, protein solubility, and cooking loss were found (p>0.05). The addition of 1% duck skin gelatin hydrolysate increased the cohesiveness and chewiness of cooked sausages. The inclusion of 1% duck skin gelatin accelerated lipid oxidation of cooked sausages during refrigerated storage (p<0.05), whereas duck skin gelatin hydrolysate caused a lower TBARS value in cooked sausage compared to duck skin gelatin. The results show comparable effects of gelatin and gelatin hydrolysate addition on the technological properties of cooked sausages; however, the oxidative stability of raw materials for gelatin extraction should be evaluated clearly in further studies.

수삼의 마이크로파 유전특성 (Dielectric Properties of Fresh Ginseng Determined by an Open-Ended Coaxial Probe Technique)

  • The dielectric properties, dielectric constant (${\varepsilon}‘$) and loss factor (${\varepsilon}’$), of skin and pulp of fresh ginseng were measured from $25^{\circ}C$ to $67^{\circ}C$ using an open-ended coaxial probe technique for 915 MHz and 2450 MHz. Pulp and skin had dielectric constant of $30{\sim}64$ and loss factor between 10 and 20, each variable having a respective frequency dependence typical of materials with high water content. Although the loss factor was nearly constant, the dielectric constant increased as moisture content increased. The dielectric constant of ginseng pulp increased as temperature increased (temperature ${\leq}56^{\circ}C$), but any significant differences were not found in skin dielectric properties. Penetration depth for fresh ginseng were about 2 cm at 91.5 MHz and 1cm at 2450 MHz.

The effect of Korean Red Ginseng on full-thickness skin wound healing in rats

  • Background: Panax ginseng is regarded as one of the best compounds for promoting health, and it has been used traditionally as a medicinal herb. Recently, Korean Red Ginseng (RG) has been shown to protect skin from aging and wrinkling; it can also relieve atopic dermatitis and allergy symptoms. This study aimed to evaluate RG's effects on the regeneration of the full-thickness skin wounds in rat. Methods: Full-thickness skin wounds were generated in rats, and then RG was administered either orally or topically. The wound-healing effects of RG were investigated by assessing wound size, mRNA expression patterns of genes related to wound healing, histological staining, and measurements of lipid, moisture, and elasticity in skin tissues. Results: The wound size was smaller, and tissue regeneration rate was faster in the RG-treated group than that in the control group on days 15 and 20 after initiating treatment. On postoperative day 20, skin lipid and moisture content had increased significantly in the RG-treated group. Significant increases in the gene expression levels of transforming growth $factor-{\beta}1$ and vascular endothelial growth factor were found in the RG group during the early stages of wound healing. Matrix metalloproteinase-1 and matrix metalloproteinase-9 showed significant increases in gene expression levels on day 20. Conclusion: The results suggested that RG may promote healing of full-thickness skin wounds in rats. They also provided basic insights into the effects of RG on skin regeneration, supporting its use as a dressing material for wound treatment and its development as a functional food.

양식산 넙치와 자연산 넙치의 관능적 특성 및 저장중 신선도 변화 연구 (A Study on the Organoleptic Characteristics and Changes in Freshness of Cultivated and Wild Paralichthys olivaceus During Storage)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the physicochemical and organoleptic characteristics and freshness of wild and cultivated Paralichthys olivaceus during storage. By the results of morphological observation, wild Paralichthys olivaceus had white abdomen, light black skin and transparent muscle, but cultivated Paralichthys olivaceus had black spotted abdomen, dark black skin and dark pink muscle. Moisture contents of wild and cultivated Paralichthys olivaceus were similar, but the lipid content was higher in cultivated Paralichthys olivaceus than that of wild Paralichthys olivaceus. Sensory scores of appearance, taste, texture and overall acceptability were higher in wild Paralichthys olivaceus than that of cultivated Paralichthys olivaceus. The reason was that lipid content was higher in cultivated Paralichthys olivaceus The freshness of cultivated Paralichthys olivaceus seemed to last shorter than that of wild one due to rapid increase of the volatile basic nitrogen content, pH and total microbial count during storage.

유산 및 글루코노락톤 혼합물을 함유하는 수중유형 나노에멀젼의 피부장벽개선 효과 (Effect of Oil in Water Nanoemulsion Containing a Mixture of Lactic Acid and Gluconolactone for Skin Barrier Improvement)

  • 본 연구에서는 lactic acid (LA) 및 gluconolactone (GL)의 피부 장벽 개선 효능을 평가하기 위하여 피부세포에서 필라그린, 로리크린, hyaluronic acid (HA), hyaluronan synthase-2 (HAS2), aquaporine-3 (AQP3)의 발현량 및 임상시험을 통한 수분 함유량과 경표피수분손실량(transepidermal water loss, TEWL)을 평가하였다. 장벽 기능(필라그린, 로리크린)과 보습 기능(HA, HAS2, AQP3)에 관련된 인자들의 발현량을 qRT-PCR과 Western blot으로 측정한 결과, H2O2 처리에 의해 감소된 인자들의 발현량이 LA, GL 및 혼합물 처리로 mRNA전사량과 단백질 발현량을 유의적으로 증가하는 것으로 나타났다(p<0.05). LA와 GL 혼합물을 함유하는 나노에멀젼을 에멀젼 반전법으로 제조한 결과 평균 입자 크기는 299.9±0.287 nm로 확인되었다. 나노에멀젼의 TEWL을 Vapometer로 측정한 결과, 제품 사용 2주 후 및 제품 사용 4주 후에 제품 사용 전에 비하여 각각 15.53%, 26.73% 정도 TEWL이 감소하는 것으로 나타났다(p<0.001). 나노에멀젼의 피부 수분함유량을 Corneometer로 측정한 결과, 제품 사용 2주 후 및 제품 사용 4주 후에 제품 사용 전에 비하여 각각 15.40%, 26.59% 정도 수분 함유량이 유의적으로 증가하는 것으로 나타났다(p<0.001). 따라서 LA 및 GL의 피부 장벽 기능 및 보습 효과는 피부 보습 관련 단백질인 HA, HAS2 및 AQP3 발현 증가와 피부 장벽 기능의 주요인자인 필라그린과 로리크린의 발현 증가를 통한 수분 함유량 증가 및 TEWL 감소에 의해 나타나는 것으로 기능성 화장품 소재로서의 개발 가능성을 제시한다.

  • Objective : The purpose of this clinical research was to investigate the effects of herbal cosmetics containing Phellinus linteus extracts on patients with atopic dermatitis. Methods : A total of 35 patients who visited Daegu Hanny Oriental Medical Center from November 4th, 2008 to December 28th, 2008 were included in this study. In this study, we observed transepidermal water loss, skin moisture content, modified scorad index of atopic dermatitis and pruritic degree. Statistical analysis was performed by using paired t-test and wilcoxon signed ranks test. Statistical significance was achieved if the probability was less than 5%(p<0.05). Results : Statistically, herbal cosmetics containing Phellinus linteus extracts showed siginificant effect on transepidermal water loss, skin moisture content, modified scorad index of atopic dermatitis and pruritic degree(p<0.05). And satisfaction after using herbal cosmetics was near good. Conclusions : Considering the above results, we have concluded that herbal cosmetics containing Phellinus linteus extracts have the remarkable effects on atopic dermatitis.

으름열매 추출물의 항산화 활성 및 피부미용 효과 (Anti-oxidant Activity of Akebia quinata fruit extract and the Effects of Skin)

  • 으름열매는 폴리페놀과 사포닌과 같은 페놀성 물질을 많이 함유하고 있다. 본 연구는 세포실험을 통해 으름열매 추출물의 항산화활성을 확인하고, 피부에 적용하였을 때 수분과 유분, 멜라닌과 홍반변화의 효과를 측정하였다. 항산화 효과 측정결과, 농도 의존적으로 폴리페놀, 플라보노이드, DPPH소거능이 상승한 것으로 확인되었고, 으름열매 추출물 크림을 사용하였을 때 수분함량 변화, 유분함량 변화, 멜라닌지수, 홍반지수의 감소가 통계적으로 유의미한 변화를 보여 으름열매 추출물 함유 화장품이 피부개선을 위한 기능성화장품으로서 활용 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 으름열매 추출물은 독성을 나타내지 않으면서도 피부보습, 피부개선효과를 가진 천연 및 기능성화장품 소재로서 활용 가능성이 있다고 사료된다.

어린이 노출평가를 위한 점토류의 피부 점착률 산출 (Determination of Skin Adhesion Rate of Children's Modeling Clay for Exposure Assessment)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine skin adhesion rate of children's modeling clay for exposure assessment. Methods: Children's modeling clays were classified into 10 categories as PVA clay, PVA soft clay, starch-based clay, foam clay, rubber clay, oil clay, muddy clay, terra clay, paper clay and slime. A total of 26 children's clay goods was selected. Moisture content (%) and hardness of clays were measured. Five adults aged 20 to 25were recruited for experiment. Gravimetric difference of modeling clay was determined after 3 minutes playing time. Skin adhesion rate ($g/min/cm^2$) was estimated bythe amount of skin adhesion per minute (g/min) and each individual's palm surface area ($cm^2$). Results: Twenty four of the 26 children's modeling clay products were adhesive to skins. Two products of foam and rubber clay were not adhered to skin. For the 24 products, the average skin adhesion rate was $5.5{\times}10^{-4}{\pm}4.0{\times}10^{-4}g/min/cm^2$. The highest skin adhesion rate was $1.3{\times}10^{-3}{\pm}4.4{\times}10^{-4}g/min/cm^2$ for paper clay. The lowest skin adhesion rate was $4.6{\times}10^{-5}{\pm}1.1{\times}10^{-4}g/min/cm^2$ for oil clay. The skin adhesion rate was increased with increase of moisture content. Adhesion rates of some clays were varied by person and testing trials. Conclusion: The study determined skin adhesion rate of children's modeling clay. The adhesion rate is useful for exposure and risk assessments and setting safety guideline to protect children's health.

Effects of Egg Shell Membrane Hydrolysates on UVB-radiation-induced Wrinkle Formation in SKH-1 Hairless Mice

  • This study was conducted to examine the effect of egg shell membrane hydrolysates (ESMH) on wrinkle, UV, and moisture protection for cosmetic use. ESMH were fragmented as whole ESMH (before fractioning), Fraction I (> 10 kDa), Fraction II (3-10 kDa), and Fraction III (< 3 kDa). In order to test whether fractionated ESMH can be used for functional cosmetic materials, we examined not only the level of hyaluronic acid and collagen production, but also the MMP-1 activity using a HaCaT and CCD-986Sk cell line. Our study treated each sample of fractionated ESMH with different concentrations (0.01, 0.1, 1 mg/mL). In our in vivo research, we used hairless mice that had been exposed to UV-B to induce wrinkles for 7 wk, then applied Fraction I to the treatment group for 5 wk and then tested skin thickness, minimum erythema dose and moisture content. In addition, Fraction I was high in collagen and HA biosynthesis and it was better than TGF-${\beta}$ in improving of the skin. When TNF-${\alpha}$ caused MMP-1 activity in the CCD-986Sk cells, the whole ESMH and Fraction I proved to be effective in hindering the induction of collagenase depending on the concentration, and also showed outstanding effects in the suppression of skin aging. We found that the treatment group mice's UV-B radiation-induced skin damage was largely mitigated compared to that of the non-treatment group mice. Thus, we have concluded that EMSH helps to mitigate UV-B radiation-induced wrinkles, collagen, HA, MMP-1 activity and can be used for functional cosmetic materials.
