  • In this paper, we propose a new location service and location-based routing for data dissemination from a source to a mobile group sink in less energy consumption of the sensor node. Unlike the existing protocols, the proposed protocol uses a leader sink instead of a group area as the location information to represent a mobile sink group. The proposed protocol also uses grid leaders on virtual grid structure to support sink mobility in location service. By using a leader sink as a representative and grid leaders for mobility supporting, the proposed protocol can exploit an efficient hierarchical location service and data dissemination method without using flooding. Accordingly, the proposed protocol carries out upper layer location services and data dissemination between a leader sink and a source and lower layer location services and data dissemination between the leader sink and member sinks. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed protocol achieves energy-efficiency.

  • Communications for mobile sink groups such as rescue teams or platoons bring about a new challenging issue for handling group mobility in wireless sensor networks. Recently, a group region-based approach has been proposed to send data to a mobile sink group. However, it uses excessive flooding for 3 steps (group region discovery, region information notification, and data dissemination) to support mobile sink group. Thus, it causes high energy consumption and data delivery failure. Moreover, its per-sink mobility supporting scheme makes energy consumption and data delivery failure more serious. Thus, this paper proposes an Energy-efficient and Reliable Mobile Group communication protocol (ERMG) to support a mobile sink group, which exploits a virtual grid structure. For the group region discover and notification and the data dissemination, ERMG uses communications with only cell heads of grid cells that manages group sinks. ERMG also uses a per-grid based scheme to support sink mobility. Simulation results show that ERMG has 30% less energy consumption and 6% more desired delivery deadline success ratio than the existing protocols.

  • In order to support mobility for sink groups, it is important to get the current location of a mobile sink group and then to offer the location to a source. Typically, previous works calculate a region including all member sinks by flooding; then, it notifies this region information to a source. However, flooding and location updates are periodically performed regardless of the group movement so that it causes considerable control overhead. In this paper, we propose an energy-efficient scheme supporting mobile sink groups. The proposed scheme obtains a location of a group without flooding. It exploits the inherent property of mobile sink groups which could approximate entire group movement by only partial member sinks movement. Also, the scheme learns group location by back-propagation learning method through exploiting overhearing feature in wireless communication environment. Our simulation studies show that the proposed scheme significantly improves in terms of energy consumption compared to the previous work.

  • Communications for mobile sink groups such as rescue teams or platoons bring about a new challenging issue for handling mobility in wireless sensor networks. To do this, many studies have been proposed to support mobile sink groups. When closely looking at mobile sink groups, they can be divided into (multiple) small groups according to the property of applications. For example, a platoon can be divided into multiple squads to carry out its mission in the battle field. However, the previous studies cannot efficiently support the division of mobile sink groups because they do not address three challenging issues engendered by the mobile sink group division. The first issue is to select a leader sink for a new small mobile sink group. The efficient data delivery from a source to small mobile sink groups is the second issue. Last, the third issue is to share data between leader sinks of small mobile sink groups. Thus, this paper proposes a routing protocol to efficiently support the division of mobile sink groups by solving the three challenging issues. For the first issue, the proposed protocol selects a leader sink of a new small mobile sink group which provide a minimum summation of the distance between the new leader sink and the previous leader sink and the distance from the new leader sink to all of its member sinks. For the efficient data delivery from a source to small mobile sink groups in the second issue, the proposed protocol determines the path to minimize the data dissemination distance from source to small mobile sink group by calculating with the location information of both the source and the leader sinks. With regard to the third issue, the proposed protocol exploits member sinks located among leader sinks to provide efficient data sharing among leaders sinks by considering the location information of member sinks. Simulation results verified that the proposed protocol is superior to the previous protocol in terms of the energy consumption.

  • In this paper, we consider the management scheme of the crowd group in the sensor networks. In the case of the networks searching the critical area, the operation of crowd group can affect the mission implement. The mobile sink system leading the group networks can change the network configuration as the dangerous data gathered from group sensor nodes. The dynamic network management provides the important role to the mission of mobile sink to react the dangerous environments.

  • It is important to efficiently elect the cluster header in Hierarchical Sensor Network, because it largely effects on the life duration of the network. Therefore, a recent research is going forward a research activity with regard to life time extension of the whole network for efficient cluster header election. In this paper, we propose the new Cluster Header Election Scheme in which the cluster is divided into Group considering Distance from a Sink, and a cluster header will be elected by node density of the Group. Also, we evaluate the performance of this scheme, and show that this proposed scheme improves network lifetime in Zigbee environment.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the systematic process on the discrimination of Sasang constitution with the pulse diagnosis apparatus. The pulse waves were acquired at the right and the left Guan point with 1420 people who were apparently healthy. In order to minimize the effect of aging on the shape of pulse wave, the age groups of 30s, 40s, and 50s were used. Taeum group was the best to classify, Soyang group was the worst. With the same group size, the sensitivity of Soyang group was increased. Input variables were selected with the consideration of the floating-sink ratio, tests of equality of group means, multiple comparison, multicollinearity, and structure matrix. To increase the sensitivity of Soyang, the variables which could tell the difference between Soyang and Soeum were selected.

  • In this paper, we consider the straggled network treatment in multiple sensor groups. During the moving or the implement of mission, the departed network should be handled. The loss of network group affects the mission implement of overall sensor networks, and it also requests the immediate treatment. In urgent mission environments, the network management of mobile sink should be considered to the group damage.

  • The measurement from the indentation process depends on the amount of pile-up or sink-in around the contact impressions. In this paper, finite element concept is utilized to study the pile-up and sink-in behaviour for the wide range of materials with different young's modulus, yield stresses, strain-hardening exponents and coefficient of friction values. The exact indentation model is created by using the two dimensional axisymmetrical model for simulating the spherical indentation process on the lines of Taljat and Pharr (2004) work. The result shows that during spherical indentation process the amount of pile-up is greatly influenced by the strain hardening exponents in addition to other material properties and depth of penetration. The numerical results from the finite element analysis are also validated using the exact multilinear material properties obtained from the tensile testing for the materials like mild steel, brass and aluminium.
