Most of automobile parts manufactured through sheet metal forming are mass-produced by using press mold. In recent years, automation and speeding up of press lines have been expanding to maximize product productivity using a press die. The proportion of the moving time in the press line is high, and therefore requires high-speed and automated equipment for the moving process. In this paper, to provide the double-moving system can be the moving time reduction and increased productivity. Developed transport system consists of the material supply, the material feeding device and the PLC controller and the devices are positioned between each of the pressing process. In this paper, the double-moving system including developed units using a multi-axial single-acting through this reduced the C/T(cycle time) and improved the productivity.
An investigation into power conditioners that interface with photovoltaic array and utilities has been completed. The rating for this investigation is residential system(3-5kVA) that interface with a 220V single phase utility connection. As the result of this investigation, a 3kVA high frequency PWM IGBT inverter feeding a high frequency isolation transformer with a sinusoidal current wave was selected. The output of the transformer rectified with a diode bridge rectifier. four IGBT, used as 60Hz switched, reverse the polarity of the rectified current on every other half cycle of the utility voltage. Even though the high frequency link system used more power semiconductors, a net size, weight, and parts cost saving result compared to the other systems due to elimination of 60Hz transformer.

Lactic acid bacteria are representative probiotics that have beneficial effects on humans. Nineteen strains among the 167 single strains from kimchi was selected and their physiological features were investigated. The selection of a strain was based on strong enzyme (lipase, α-amylase, and α-glucosidase) inhibitory activities and anti-obesity effects in the adipocytes. For the final selection, the strain Lactiplantibacillus plantarum KC3 was tested for its potential as a starter. To assess its functionality, a freeze-dried culture of L. plantarum KC3 was administered to a diet-induced obese mouse model receiving a high-fat diet. The animal group administered with L. plantarum KC3 showed significant body weight loss during the 12-week feeding period compared to the high-fat control group. This study investigated the physiological characteristics of selected strain and evaluated its potential as an anti-obesity probiotic in mice.
In this study, high-penetration asphalt with low greenhouse gas emissions was used in the asphalt mixing process to reduce the carbon emissions during the reaction due to its capacity to be produced even at low temperatures. In effect, cationic, anionic, and non-ionic dispersants were added and mixed in different feeding ratios, seeking an effective dispersion of the modifiers (SIS, PS, TPEE, and SEBS) into the high-penetration asphalt matrix and forming an asphalt binder with a melting point of 120 ℃. The compatibility of the modifiers and the high-penetration asphalt was examined using SEM and DSC techniques, and the role of NDP-1 as a dispersant was carefully investigated with respect to dissolution time. The analyses showed that: (1) the dispersibility of the asphalt binder is good when the non-ionic dispersant is used; (2) as the concentration of the non-ionic dispersant increases, the dissolution time decreases and the domain size contracts; (3) the ND70-PS has the shortest dissolution time, the lowest agglomeration rate, and a single Tg value.
A bandwidth-enhanced ultra-wide band (UWB) CMOS balun-LNA is implemented as a part of a software defined radio (SDR) receiver which supports multi-band and multi-standard. The proposed balun-LNA is composed of a single-to-differential converter, a differential-to-single voltage summer with inductive shunt peaking, a negative feedback network, and a differential output buffer with composite common-drain (CD) and common-source (CS) amplifiers. By feeding the single-ended output of the voltage summer to the input of the LNA through a feedback network, a wideband balun-LNA exploiting negative feedback is implemented. By adopting a source follower-based inductive shunt peaking, the proposed balun-LNA achieves a wider gain bandwidth. Two LNA design examples are presented to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed approach. The LNA I adopts the CS amplifier with a common gate common source (CGCS) balun load as the S-to-D converter for high gain and low noise figure (NF) and the LNA II uses the differential amplifier with the ac-grounded second input terminal as the S-to-D converter for high second-order input-referred intercept point (IIP2). The 3 dB gain bandwidth of the proposed balun-LNA (LNA I) is above 5 GHz and the NF is below 4 dB from 100 MHz to 5 GHz. An average power gain of 18 dB and an IIP3 of -8 ~ -2 dBm are obtained. In simulation, IIP2 of the LNA II is at least 5 dB higher than that of the LNA I with same power consumption.
Objective : In order to establish the role of Gamma Knife radiosurgery (GKS) in large intracranial arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), we analyzed clinical characteristics, radiological features, and radiosurgical outcomes. Methods : Between March 1992 and March 2005, 28 of 33 patients with large AVMs (> $10\;cm^3$ in nidus-volume) who were treated with GKS underwent single session radiosurgery (RS), and the other 5 patients underwent staged volumetric RS. Retrospectively collected data were available in 23 cases. We analyzed treatment outcomes in each subdivided groups and according to the AVM sizes. We compared the estimated volume, defined as primarily estimated nidus volume using MR images, with real target volume after excluding draining veins and feeding arteries embedded into the nidus. Results : Regarding those patients who underwent single session RS, 44.4% (8/18) had complete obliteration; regarding staged volumetric RS, the obliteration rate was 40% (2/5). The complete obliteration rate was 60% (6/10) in the smaller nidus group ($10-15\;cm^3$ size), and 25% (2/8) in the larger nidus group (over $15\;cm^3$ size). One case of cerebral edema and two cases (8.7%) of hemorrhage were seen during the latent period. The mean real target volume for 18 single sessions of RS was $17.1\;cm^3$ ($10.1-38.4\;cm^3$), in contrast with the mean estimated volume of $20.9\;cm^3$ ($12.0-45.0\;cm^3$). Conclusion : The radiosurgical treatment outcomes of large AVMs are generally poor. However, we presume that the recent development in planning software and imaging devices aid more accurate measurement of the nidus volume, therefore improving the treatment outcome.

Baker's yeast was disrupted in a 1.4-L stainless steel horizontal bead mill under a continuous recycle mode using 0.3 mm diameter zirconia beads as abrasive. A single pass in continuous mode bead mill operation liberates half of the maximally released protein. The maximum total protein release can only be achieved after passaging the cells 5 times through the disruption chamber. The degree of cell disruption was increased with the increase in feeding rate, but the total protein release was highest at the middle range of feeding rate (45 L/h). The total protein release was increased with an increase in biomass concentration from 10 to $50\%$(w/v). However, higher heat dissipation as a result of high viscosity of concentrated biomass led to the denaturation of labile protein such as glucose 6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH). As a result the highest specific activity of G6PDH was achieved at biomass concentration of $20\%$(ww/v). Generally, the degree of cell disruption and total protein released were increased with an increase in impeller tip speed, but the specific activity of G6PDH was decreased substantially at higher impeller tip speed (14 m/s). Both the degree of cell disruption and total protein release increased, as the bead loading increased from 75 to $85\% (v/v)$. Hence, in order to obtain a higher yield of labile protein such as G6PDH, the yeast cell should not be disrupted at biomass concentration and impeller tip speed higher than $20\%(w/v)$ and 10 m/s, respectively.
The transient behavior of a passive air breathing direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) operated on vapor-feeding mode is studied in this paper. It generally takes 30 minutes after starting for the cell response to come to its steady-state and the response is sometimes unstable. A mathematical dynamic one-dimensional model for simulating transient response of the DMFC is presented. In this model a DMFC is decomposed into its subsystems using lumped model and divided into five layers, namely the anodic diffusion layer, the anodic catalyst layer, the proton exchange membrane (PEM), the cathodic catalyst layer and the cathodic diffusion layer. All layers are considered to have finite thickness, and within every one of them a set of differential-algebraic governing equations are given to represent multi-components mass balance, such as methanol, water, oxygen and carbon dioxide, charge balance, the electrochemical reaction and mass transport phenomena. A one-dimensional, isothermal and mass transport model is developed that captures the coupling between water generation and transport, oxygen consumption and natural convection. The single cell is supplied by pure methanol vapor from a methanol reservoir at the anode, and the oxygen is supplied via natural air-breathing at the cathode. The water is not supplied from external source because the cell uses the water created at the cathode using water back diffusion through nafion membrane. As a result of simulation strong effects of water transport were found out. The model analysis provides several conclusions. The performance drop after peak point is caused by insufficiency of water at the anode. The excess water at the cathode makes performance recovery impossible. The undesired crossover of the reactant methanol through the PEM causes overpotential at the cathode and limits the feeding methanol concentration.
This experiment was conducted for 4 weeks to compare the feeding values of dried meal of Russian Comfrey and Kale as green feeds with Acacia leaf meal and Ladino clover meal, and to investigate the effects of feeding these on the total cholesterol in blood serum and liver fat content. Seventy-five male chicks of Single Comb White Leghorn were allotted into 5 treatments. Fifteen birds in each treatment were received Russian Comfrey meal, Kale meal, Acasia leaf meal, Ladino clover meal or no dried meal, respectively. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1. No significant differences were recognized between the treatments and control in the growth rate, feed consumption, feed efficiency, utilization of nutrients, nitrogen retention and metabolizable energy value. 2. Carotene content in Russian Comfrey and Kale has been decreased as the growing stage advanced, and the leaves of both vegetable contained significantly (p<0.01) more carotene than that in stems. Vitamin C content of leaves was also signifcantly (p<0.01) higher than that in stems, however, vitamin C content has been increased as the growing stage advanced. 3. Toltal cholesterol content in blood serum of the chickens fed the Acacia leaf meal or Russian Comfrey meal was significantly (p<0.05) lower than Ladino clover meal fed group or those received no green feeds. Kale seems to decrease cholesterol content a little. Above results indicated that Acacia leaf and Russian Comfrey might contain certain substances that would depressing the cholesterol content. 4. No significant differences in the liver fat were discovered among the treatment but it was observed that liver fat was decreased as the cholesterol content increased.
Food irradiation has been steadily increasing in many countries in line with increasing international trade and concerns about naturally occurring harmful contaminants in food. Although irradiation provides an excellent safeguard for the consumer by destroying almost 100% of harmful bacteria, it is necessary to ensure the safety of irradiated foods. This study was performed to investigate the effect of an irradiated diet on lipid peroxidation in the plasma, liver, small intestinal mucosa, and lymphocyte DNA damage in mice. Eight-week old ICR mice were assigned to two groups to receive either non-irradiated or irradiated (10 kGy) diets containing 20.38% fish powder and 6.06% sesame seeds for 4 weeks. The resulting changes in the degrees of lipid peroxidation were evaluated based on the level of plasma and liver thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS), transmission electron micrograph of jejunal mucosa, and free radical-induced oxidative DNA damage in lymphocytes, as measured by alkaline comet assay (single cell gel electrophoresis). The peroxide values of the gamma irradiated diet were measured every week, and the sample for comet assay was taken at the end of the four week experimental period. There was no significant difference in food efficiency ratio between the two groups. The peroxide values of the diet were immediately increased to 35.5% after gamma irradiation and kept on increasing during storage. After 4 weeks, no differences in tissue or plasma TBARS value were observed between the two groups, but epithelial cells of jejumum showed osmiophillic laminated membranous structures, considered as myelin figures,. The oxidative DNA damage expressed as tail moment (TM) increased 30% in the blood lymphocytes of the mice fed the irradiated diet. In conclusion, the comet assay sensitively detected differences in lymphocyte DNA damage after feeding with the irradiated diet for 4 weeks. However, in order to ensure the safety of irradiated foods, it would be more useful to conduct a long-term feeding regimen using an irradiated diet and examine the level of lipid peroxidation and the state of oxidative stress in a greater range of organs.
