Driving Simulator에서 Simulator Sickness의 정량적 측정에 관한 연구 (A study on Quantitative measure for Simulator Sickness in Driving Simulator)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose and to apply new Revised Simulator Sickness Questionnaire(RSSQ) that is effective quantification tool by revising and complementing SSQ because Simulator Sickness Questionnaire(SSQ), which is being used generally to quantify Simulator Sickness has several problems. For this study, we reduced 31 symptoms that are related to Simulator Sickness to 22 symptoms and derived weighting for each other from 15 experts. We developed new RSSQ with 22 symptoms and implemented factor analysis by using 142 RSSQ which is questioned before and after getting on simulator. It was classified to four major symptom groups as the result of the factor analysis. They are Disorientation, Oculomotor, Nausea, and Confuse. The scoring system of RSSQ provides subscales score of Disorientation, Oculomotor, Nausea, and Confuse as well as total severity. The scoring system of RSSQ which is proposed by this study is expected to improve accuracy of measure compared with an existing scoring system of SSQ, and to contribute with understanding the effect of Simulator Sickness more adequately and clearly.

Openwave WAP Simulator를 이용한 WMLScript의 구현에 대한 연구 (A Study of Implementing WMLScript using Openwave WAP Simulator)

  • 본 연구는 Openwave WAP Simulator를 이용하여 WML과 WMLScript의 구현 방법을 소개하고자 함에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해서 본 연구에서는 WAP시스템의 구조와 WAP 브라우저의 중류 및 WAP 콘텐츠 개발 방법에 대한 기존 연구들을 살펴본 후 Openwave Phone Simulator는 물론 Oponwave WAP Simulator, Openwave HTTP Simulator, Nokia Mobile Internet Toolkit을 이용하여 이를 구현하였다. 현재 WMLScript의 구현을 위한 제 설치과정과 복잡한 절차들에 대한 연구는 다소 희소한 편이라 본 연구에서는 이러한 제 과정을 순서대로 소개하여 WMLScript를 이용한 모바일 응용프로그램의 개발과 실험을 보다 쉽게 하고자 한다.

동적 자동차 시뮬레이터에서 Simulator Sickness와 생리적 반응에 대한 연구 (A Study on Simulator Sickness and Physiological Responses in Dynamic Driving Simulator)

  • The study was to evaluate psychological and physiological changes of simulator sickness in the controlled condition of driving a car (1 hr. at speed of 60 km/h) in a graphic simulator. Simulator sickness was measured and analyzed every 5 min using both subjective responses(i.e., Simulator Sickness Questionnaire) and Physiological signals(EEG, HRV, Skin Temperature, GSR). The results showed that there was significant differences in subjective response 10 min after the main experiment. From 10 min after the driving, the level of subjective simulator sickness increased significantly, relative one of the rest condition. There also was significant differences in physiological responses between the rest and the 5 min after from the start of driving : for EEG, $\delta$ and $\theta$ at Fz area increased, while $\alpha$ decreased; the averaged R-R interval and skin temperature decreased; LF/HF and GSR increased. The results indicated that simulator sickness was induced by activation of the autonomic nerves and inactivation of the central nerves.

드라이빙 시뮬레이터 주행과 현장주행시 운전자 반응 비교 연구 (Comparative Study on Difference in Driver's Workload between Driving Simulator and Field Driving in Tunnel, Highway)

  • PURPOSES : This study analyzed the difference in a driver's workload between using a driving simulator and field driving in tunnel, highway. METHODS : Based on the literature review, it was found that a driver's workload could be quantified using biosignals. This study analyzed the biosignal data of 30 participants using data collected while they were using a driving simulator and during a field test involving tunnel driving. Relative energy parameter was used for biosignal analysis. RESULTS : The driver's workload was different between the driving simulator and field driving in tunnels, highway. Compared with the driving simulator test, the driver's workload exhibited high value in field driving. This result was significant at the 0.05 level. The same result was observed before the tunnel entrance section and 200 m after the entrance section. CONCLUSIONS : This study demonstrates the driving simulator effect that drivers feel safer and more comfortable using a driving simulator than during a field test. Future studies should be designed considering the result of this study, age, type of simulator, study site and so on.

A Dynamic Performance Study of an HVDC System using a Hybrid Simulator

  • This paper deals with the development of a new type of simulator for the study of the dynamic performance of an HVDC scheme. The new simulator uses a digital model of the power equipment and an analogue model of the existing HVDC controller. This simulator is used to study the dynamic performance of the Cheju - Haenam HVDC system and to verify the control characteristics of the HVDC system. The paper discusses the simulator development requirements and criteria. The paper provides guidelines for the development of the simulator and presents the results of the simulation studies.

  • As the demand for simulated flight training and interest in new technology training increase, this study analyzed the performance of flight simulator training and actual flight training subjects to confirm efficient flight simulator training curriculum. Summarizing the results of the study, found that flight simulator training had a significant positive effect on the actual flight training performance and in particular had a relatively large effect on the air maneuver, traffic pattern, cross country flight subjects. As a result of analyzing theoretical major classes that affect flight simulator training to verify the correlation, found that principle of air navigation, air traffic service, and helicopter flight theory were affected in order. The significance of this study was to identify the curriculum and ground lesson that should be focused on effectively performing flight simulator training in the helicopter private pilot course.

공기압실린더 구동장치를 이용한 6자유도 시뮬레이터의 자세제어에 관한 연구 (Study on the Pose Control of a 6 DOF Simulator with Pneumatic Cylinder Driving Apparatus)

  • In this study, 6-DOF simulator using pneumatic cylinder driving apparatus was manufactured because a pneumatic cylinder driving apparatus is superior to electric driving motor and hydraulic actuator, which used in traditional 6-DOF simulator, in competitive price and acceleration performance, and, 6-DOF motion can be realized at a low price in case that relatively low load is imposed on the simulator. The possible range of pose control of the simulator was investigated by inverse kinematics, and, it was controlled by a linear controller derived from linear model of the simulator. The Experimental results show that the simulator follows given coordinate well.

Effects of Horse Riding Simulator on Pain, Oswestry Disability Index and Balance in Adults with Nonspecific Chronic Low Back Pain

  • PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of Horse riding simulator exercise on pain, dysfunction and dynamic balance in adults with nonspecific chronic low back pain. METHODS: In this study, total 19 college students usually complain of low back pain who were randomly divided into the horse riding simulator exercise group (n=10), lumbar strengthening exercise group (n=9) were recruited. Each group carried out for 30 minutes exercise three times a week for 4 weeks. Horse riding simulator exercise group carried out 15 minutes horse riding simulator exercise and 15 minutes lumbar strengthening exercise. Lumbar strengthening exercise group carried out 30 minutes lumbar strengthening exercise. Visual analogue scale (VAS) were measured for evaluation back pain. Korean oswestry disability index (KODI) were measured for dysfunction. Limits of stability (LOS) were measured for dynamic balance. RESULTS: VAS, KODI, LOS results showed a significant change within both horse riding simulator exercise group, lumbar strengthening exercise group. CONCLUSION: Present study suggested that the horse riding simulator exercise can improve back pain, dysfunction, dynamic balance. Horse riding simulator exercise provides more convenience, interest and motivation than conversional therapy and it could be a possible approach to adults with nonspecific chronic low back pain.

  • The dynamic stability of railway vehicle has been one of the important issues in railway safety. The dynamic simulator has been used in the study about the dynamic stability of railway vehicle and wheel/rail interface. Especially, a small scale simulator has been widely used in the fundamental study in the laboratory instead of full scale roller rig which is not cost effective and inconvenient to achieve diverse design parameters. But the technique for the design of the small scale simulator for the fundamental study about the dynamic characteristics of the wheel-rail system and the bogie system has not been well developed in Korea. Therefore, the research about the development of the small scale simulator and the bogie has been conducted. As this paper, To predict the dynamic behavior of railway vehicle, we studied running stability test of 1/5 scaled bogie that similarity laws is applied using small scale derailment simulator. For the operation of the small scale derailment simulator, it is required to investigate the performance and characteristics of the system. This could be achieved by a comparative study between an analysis and an experiment. This paper presented the analytical model which could be used for verifying of the test results and understanding of the physical behavior of the dynamic system comprising the small scale bogie and the simulator.

수직형 풍동을 응용한 고공강하 시뮬레이터의 설계에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Design of Free-Fall Simulator using concept of Vertical Wind Tunnel)

  • In this study, the design of Free-Fall Simulator was carried out using concept of vertical wind tunnel. Free-Fall Simulator is not an experimental equipment but a training equipment. Therefore Free-Fall Simulator needs a large training section compared with test section of wind tunnel and has critical limit of height. These limits bring about the difficulty of design for a return passage. Due to small area ratio, the downstream flow of training section with high speed is not decelerated adequately to the fan section. High-speed flow leads to great losses in the small area ratio diffuser and corner. So design of diffusers and corners located between training section and fan section has a great effect on the Free-Fall Simulator performance. This study used an estimation method of subsonic wind tunnel performance. It considered each section of Free-Fall Simulator as an independent section. Therefore loss of one section didn't affect loss of other sections. Because losses of corner with vane and $1^{st}$ diffuser are most parts of overall Free-Fall Simulator, this study focused on the design of these sections.
