  • Recently, the subject of \"wavelet analysis\" has drawn much attention from both mathematical and engineering application fields such as Signal Processing, Compression/Decomposition, Statistics and ets. Analogous to Fourier analysis, wavelets is a versatile tool with very rich mathematical content and great potential for applications. Specially, wavelet transform uses localizable various mother wavelet functions in time-frequency domain. In this paper, discrimination analyses of acquired electrical current signals for each and mixed loads were tried by using Morlet wavelet transform. Their representative loads were classified as TV, DRY(Dryer), REF(Refrigerate), and FL(Fluorescent Lamp).

  • This paper is concerned with the compression of EEG signals using wavelet-packet based techniques. EEG data compression is desirable for a number of reasons. Primarily it decreases for transmission time, archival storage space, and in portable systems, it decreases memory requirements or increases channels and bandwidth. Upon wavelet decomposition, inherent redundancies in the signal can be removed through thresholding to achieve data compression. We proposed the energy cumulative function for deciding of the threshold value and it works very innovative of EEG data.

  • Asynchronous circuits have the potential to solve the problems related to parameter variations such as gate delays in deep sub-micron technologies. However, current CAD tools for large-scale asyn-chronous circuits partition specification irrelevantly, because these tools cannot control the granularity of circuit decomposition. In this paper we propose a hierarchical Control/Data Flow Graph (CDFG) containing nodes that are flexibly partitioned or merged into other nodes. We show a partitioning algorithm for such CDFGs to generate handleable Signal Transition Graphs (STGs) for asynchronous synthesis tools. The algorithm a1lows designers to assign the maximum number of signals of partitioned nodes considering of timality. From an experiment, this algorithm can flexibly partition and result in more compact asynchronous controllers.

  • In this paper, a numerical analysis algorithm of eddy current testing(ECT) for heat exchanger tube with axi-symmetric defects using finite element method(FEM) is presented. In the ECT FEM analysis, we used trianglular and rectangular elements for exact signal of ECT for variable shape of defects. This paper presents a systematic and efficient numerical analysis algorithm for ECT. We employ the LU decomposition and Cholesky method for solving the system matrix. This numerical analysis algorithm is effectively applied to heat exchanger tube with defects.

  • The aim of this paper is to understand the unsteady flow phenomena in a high speed centrifugal compressor channel diffuser. Instantaneous pressures are measured at six locations in the diffuser using fast-response pressure transducers. Instantaneous pressure ratio decomposition was applied to analyze the pressure signal. In vaneless space where impeller-vaned diffuser interaction is strong, aperiodic unsteadiness is high and periodic pressure waveforms by blade passing are not clear at low flow rates, especially near vane suction side. High aperiodic unsteadiness decreases downstream of diffuser. The blade-to-blade pressure wave does not disappear in surge flow condition. In surge there exist not only large scale periodic surge wave but also blade-to-blade pressure wave.

  • Spectral analysis is an important signal processing tool for time series data. The transformation of a time series into the frequency domain is the basis for a significant number of processing algorithms and interpretive methods. Recently developed transforms based on the new mathematical field of wavelet analysis bypass the resolution limitation and offer superior spectral decomposition. The discrete wavelet transform of Sonar data provides spectral localization of noises, hence noises can be filtered out successfully.

  • This paper applies transmit antenna selection algorithms to spatial-temporal combining-based spatial multiplexing (SM) ultra-wideband (UWB) systems. The employed criterion is based on the largest minimum output signal-to-noise ratio of the multiplexed streams. It is shown via simulations that the bit error rate (BER) performance of the SM UWB systems based on the two-dimensional Rake receiver is significantly improved by antenna diversity through transmit antenna selection on a log-normal multipath fading channel. When the transmit antenna diversity through antenna selection is exploited in the SM UWB systems, the BER performance of the spatial-temporal combining-based zero-forcing (ZF) receiver is also compared with that of the ZF detector followed by the Rake receiver.

  • This paper presents the iterative algorithm for obtaining the ME PSE(Maximum Entropy Power Spectral Estimation) of 2-dimensional signals. This problem involves a correction matching power spectral estimate that can be represented as the reciprocal of the spectral of 2-dimensional signals. This requires two matrix inversion every iterations. Thus, we compensate the matrix to be constantly positive definite with relaxational parameters. Using Row/Column decomposition Discrete Fourier Transform, we can decrease a calculation quantity. Using Lincoln data and white noise, this paper examines ME PSE algorithms. Finally, the results output at the graphic display device. The 2-dimensional data have the 3-dimensional axis components, and, this paper develops 3-dimensional graphic output algorithms using 2-dimensional DGL(Device Independent Graphic Library) which is prepared for HP-1000 F-series computer.

  • In this paper, beamforming algorithm is proposed which can obtain diversity gain in beamforming system that deploy antenna elements with half-wavelength. The proposed algorithm provides beam-pattern using eigen-vectors that span received signal subspace. The criterion to decide optimal rank of eigen-space used for beamforming is also proposed. A beamforming system applied the proposed algorithm shows better performance with diversity gain as getting larger angle spread. This paper provides a description of proposed algorithm with analysis of the performance using various computer simulations.
