Background Generation using Temporal and Spatial Information of Pixels (시간축과 공간축 화소 정보를 이용한 배경 생성)

  • Background generation is very important for accurate object tracking in video surveillance systems. Traditional background generation techniques have some problems with non-moving objects for longer periods. To overcome this problem, we propose a newbackground generation method using mean-shift and Fast Marching Method (FMM) to use pixel information along temporal and spatial dimensions. The mode of pixel value density along time axis is estimated by mean-shift algorithm and spatial information is evaluated by FMM, and then they are used together to generate a desirable background in the existence of non-moving objects during longer period. Experimental results show that our proposed method is more efficient than the traditional method.

  • We propose a novel design concept to improve extinction ratio by minimizing $Cv_e-Cv_o$ . Improvements of loss and fabrication error limit are also obtained by this hybrid design of the lateral shift and curved waveguide to control transfer coefficients, $Cv_e and Cv_o$ . The concept of lateral shift merges two transfer coefficients, and additional curved waveguide controls mode profile asymmetrically to help this minimizing effect of $Cv_e-Cv_o$ with no serious decrease in transfer efficiency. For a given InP based waveguide structure, the mode propagation analysis with an effective index approximation provided a calculational improvement of extinction ratio to -39 dB and fabrication error limit to $57.19\mu\textrm{m}$, with a structure design of $300\mu\textrm{m}$ waveguide curvature and $0.1\mu\textrm{m}$lateral shift. shift.

Fully Printed Dual-Band Power Divider Miniaturized by CRLH Phase-Shift Lines

  • In this letter, a compact and fully printed composite right- and left-handed (CRLH) dual-band power divider is proposed. The branches of the conventional Wilkinson power divider are replaced by subwavelength CRLH phase-shift lines having $+90^{\circ}$ for one frequency and $-90^{\circ}$ for another frequency for dual-band and miniaturization performance. Equations are derived for the even- and odd-mode analysis combined with the dual-band CRLH circuit. A PCS and a WLAN band are chosen as the test case and the circuit approach agrees with the CAD simulation and the measurement. Additionally, the CRLH property is shown with the dispersion diagram and the eightfold size reduction is noted.

  • In this paper, the proposed power supply is based on a modified version of the zero-voltage switching(ZVS) full-bridge phase-shift DC-DC converter, which incorporates commutation auxiliary inductors to provide ZVS for the entire load range as well as a commutation aid circuit to clamp the output diode voltage. The control strategy is based on two control loops operating in cascade mode. The complete operating principles and simulation results in presented.

  • KrF excimer laser, which is useful for fabrication of fiber gratings, was irradiated on the PLC-type WDM directional coupler and the transmission wavelength shift was observed as a function of UV exposure time.   • Due to the development of information communication field, the interest of the SMPS(Switched Mode Power Supply) is increased. The size and weight of SMPS are decided by inductor, capacitor and transformer. Thus, the low loss converter which is operated in high speed switching is required. The resonant FB DC-DC converter is able to operate in high speed switching and apply to high power field because the switching loss is low. In this thesis, it is proposed to control strategy for constant output power of resonant FB DC-DC converter in variable input voltage. The proposed control system is a digital I-PD type control and apply to phase-shift resonant type controller. The output voltage tracks reference without steady state error in variable input voltage. The validity of proposed control strategy is verified from results of simulation and experiment.

Phase-Shift Triple Full-Bridge ZVZCS Converter with All Soft Switched Devices

  • This paper proposes a Phase-Shift Triple Full-Bridge (PSTB) Zero-Voltage Zero-Current-Switching (ZVZCS) converter with a high switching frequency and high efficiency. In the proposed converter, all three bridge legs are shared leading-legs, and all three transformers work in the Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM). Thus, all of the switches and diodes in the PSTB ZVZCS can be soft switched. Moreover, since all of the transformers can pass energy from the primary-side to the secondary-side when their primary-side currents are not zero, there is no circulating current. As a result, the PSTB ZVZCS converter can achieve a high efficiency at high operating frequencies. A theoretical analysis and the characteristics of the proposed converter are presented and verified on a 1MHz 200~300V/24V 1.2kW hardware prototype. The proposed converter can reach a peak efficiency of 96.6%.

  • Fiber Bra99 grating (FBG) sensor, one of the fiber optic sensor (FOS) offers lots of advantages for structural health monitoring due to its multiplexing capability. Also, it is proper to measure the structural vibration with no mass concentration effect. In this paper, we constructed two sensor arrays composed of 9 FBG sensors for the vibration and mode sensing of a composites beam. For an accurate measurement of wavelength shift, a signal processing board with an electric circuit based on time-interval counting was developed. This sensor system showed a good resolution of dynamic strain (<10${\mu}{\varepsilon}$). Using this sensor system, dynamic strains at 9 points of composite beam was measured and strain measured mode shape of the beam was calculated from the acquired strains and compared with numerical results by ABAQUS.

  • The electro-optical characteristics of the In-Plane switching Twisted nematic (IT) mode were studied. The advantage of this mode is not only the wide viewing angle characteristics without adopting any compensation films, but also the wide cell gap error margin. The electro-optical characteristics of IT mode were evaluated by the experiments and computer simulation. In this paper, we studied the viewing angle characteristics, color-shift and response time.
