Self-piercing riveting(SPR) is a mechanical fastening technique which is put pressure on the rivet for joining the sheets. Unlike a spot welding, SPR joining does not make the harmful gas and $CO_2$ and needs less energy consumption. In this study, static and fatigue tests were conducted using tensile-shear specimens with Al-5052 plates for evaluation of fatigue strength of the SPR joints. During SPR joining process for the specimen, using the current sheet thickness and a rivet, the optimal applied punching force was found to be 21 kN. And, the maximum static strength of the specimen produced at the optimal punching force was 3430 N. During the fatigue tests for the specimens, interface failure mode occurred on the top substrate close to the rivet head in the most high-loading range region, but on the bottom substrate close to the rivet tail in the low -loading range region. There was a relationship between applied load amplitude $P_{amp}$ and lifetime of cycle N for the tensile-shear, $P_{amp}=3395.5{\times}N^{-0.078}$. Using the stress-strain curve of the Al-5052 from tensile test, the simulations for fatigue specimens have been carried out using the implicit finite element code ABAQUS. The relation between von-Mises equivalent stress amplitude and number of cycles was found to be ${\sigma}_{eq}=514.7{\times}N^{-0.033}$.
Metal-chelate derivatives have been investigated intensively as an emitting layer and recognize to have excellent electroluminescence(EL) properties. We synthesized new luminescent material, 1,4-dihydoxy-5,8-naphtaquinone $Aiq_3$ complex($Al_2Nq_4$) and investigated the electrical optical properties. OLED has potential candidates for information display with merits of thickness, low power and high efficiency. Although the OLED show a lot of advantages for information display, it has the limit of inorganic(metal)/ organic interface. In this study, the two methods are used to study the interface of metal/organic in OLED. First, we treated $O_2$ plasma on an ITO thin film by using RIE system, and analyzed the ingredient of ITO thin film according to change of the processing conditions. We used the RDS and the XPS for the ingredient analysis of the surface and bulk. We measured electrical resistivity using Four-Point-Probe and calculated sheet resistance, and ITO surface roughness was measured by using AFM. We fabricated OLED using substrate that was treated optimum ITO surface. Second, we used the buffer layer of CuPc to improve the characteristics of the interface and the hole injection in OLED. The result of the study for electrical and optical properties by using I V L T System(Flat Panel Display Analysis System), we confirmed that the electrical properties and the luminance properties were improved.
In this paper, we fabricated the micro hotplate which consisted of a thin film heater(Pt/Cr bilayers) sandwiched with the thermal oxide and E-beam evaporated oxide. And we studied the electrical and the structural properties of Pt/Cr bilayers due to annealing temperature. When we compared the temperature measured from type k thermocouples with the temperature acquired from I.R. thermo-vision system according to the variations of emissivity, the emissivity of I-beam evaporated oxide was 0.5. The sheet resistance of Pt/Cr bilayers didn't depend on the Cr layer thickness, and it was considered as the existence of CrO between the Pt and the Cr layer. When the annealing temperature was increased from $500^{\circ}C$ to $700^{\circ}C$, the out-diffusions of Cr were increased(which was confirmed by AES depth profile) and the grain size of Pt(220) phase was enlarged also(analyzed by XRD and SEM photographs). From the results of XRD analysis and AES depth profile, the Pt/Cr bilayers annealed at $500^{\circ}C$ were more stable than any other cases in structural properties.

A shield connector is an automotive electrical component that is used to connect electrical wiring in a vehicle. This part is made by progressive pressing using a phosphor bronze material with high electrical conductivity. The shape of the product is not complicated, but plastic forming techniques are required, such as deep drawing and bending, as well as shearing techniques such as piercing and notching. The finite element method was used to model the process. The strip layout design stage of the progressive die makes it possible to examine the thickness change, the stability of the forming process, and the spring-back. As a result of this analysis, it is possible to predict the correction values for the tendency of cracks, wrinkles, and incomplete plastic deformation, and to identify possible problems in advance. As a countermeasure against the forming error caused by the drawing process analysis, the drawing shape was modified and applied in the process design. For effective material utilization, a 3D strip layout was designed using an optimized blank shape based on nesting. The results improve the crack stability and spring-back of shield connector products produced through progressive pressing.

A steel wire-integrated deck plate that welds integrated triangle truss steel wires on a galvanized steel sheet is developed to reduce construction costs of slabs or formworks such as shores and supports, and it is already widely applied in many construction fields. In this research, experimental tests for 14 full scale specimens, which are in the same field conditions, are conducted on several parameters such as the diameter of top, bottom and lattice steel wire, cutting methods of ends. According to the result, changes in final destruction types of the test bodies and cutting methods of ends didn't affect structural performance of test specimens, and for a 4.0m-span test specimen, there was no big problems in using bottom bar D7 or D8.

In spot welded joint. Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) method using the Model 95 Ar laser a video system and an image processor was applied to measure the stress Unlike traditional strain gauges or Moire method, ESPI method has no special surface preparation or attachments and can be measured in-plane displacement with non-contact and real time. In this experiment, specimens are loaded in parallel with a load cell. The specimens are made of the cold rolled steel sheet with 1mm thickness, are attached strain. gauges. This study Provides an example of how ESPI has been used to measure stress and strain inspecimen. The results measured by ESPI are compared with the data which was measured by strain gauge method under tensile testing.

IZO/Ag/IZO (IAI) anode films for flexible organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) were grown on PC (polycarbonate) substrate using DC sputter (IZO) and thermal evaporator (Ag) systems as a function of Ag thickness. To investigate electrical and optical properties of IAI stacked films, 4-point probe and UV/Vis spectrometer were used, respectively. From a IAI stacked film with 12nm-thick Ag, sheet resistance of $6.9\;{\Omega}/{\square}$ and transmittance of above 82 % at a range of 500-550 nm wavelength were obtained. In addition, structural and surface properties of IAI stacked films were analyzed by XRD (X-ray diffraction) and SEM (scanning electron microscopy), respectively. Moreover, IAI stacked films showed dramatically improved mechanical properties when subjected to bending both as a function of number of cycles to a fixed radius. Finally, OLEDs fabricated on both flexible IAI stacked anode and conventional ITO/Glass were fabricated and, J-V-L characteristics of those OLEDs were compared by Keithley 2400.

We fabricated thermally-evaporated 10 nm-Ni/(poly)Si and 10 nm-$Ni_{0.5}Co_{0.5}$/(Poly)Si structures to investigate the microstructure of nickel silicides at the elevated temperatures required lot annealing. Silicides underwent rapid annealing at the temperatures of $600{\sim}1100^{\circ}C$ for 40 seconds. Silicides suitable for the salicide process formed on top of both the single crystal silicon actives and the polycrystalline silicon gates. A four-point tester was used to investigate the sheet resistances. A transmission electron microscope and an Auger depth profilescope were employed for the determination of vortical microstructure and thickness. Nickel silicides with cobalt on single crystal silicon actives and polycrystalline silicon gates showed low resistance up to $1100^{\circ}C$ and $900^{\circ}C$, respectively, while the conventional nickle monosilicide showed low resistance below $700^{\circ}C$. Through TEM analysis, we confirmed that a uniform, $10{\sim}15 nm$-thick silicide layer formed on the single-crystal silicon substrate for the Co-alloyed case while a non-uniform, agglomerated layer was observed for the conventional nickel silicide. On the polycrystalline silicon substrate, we confirmed that the conventional nickel silicide showed a unique silicon-silicide mixing at the high silicidation temperature of $1000^{\circ}C$. Auger depth profile analysis also supports the presence of this mixed microstructure. Our result implies that our newly proposed NiCo-alloy composite silicide process may widen the thermal process window for the salicide process and be suitable for nano-thick silicides.

Fluorine-doped $SnO_2$ (FTO) thin film/Ag nanowire (NW) double layers were fabricated by means of spin coating and ultrasonic spray pyrolysis. To investigate the optimum thickness of the FTO thin films when used as protection layer for Ag NWs, the deposition time of the ultrasonic spray pyrolysis process was varied at 0, 1, 3, 5, or 10 min. The structural, chemical, morphological, electrical, and optical properties of the double layers were examined using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, the Hall effect measurement system, and UV-Vis spectrophotometry. Although pure Ag NWs formed isolated droplet-shaped Ag particles at an annealing temperature of $300^{\circ}C$, Ag NWs covered by FTO thin films maintained their high-aspect-ratio morphology. As the deposition time of the FTO thin films increased, the electrical and optical properties of the double layers degraded gradually. Therefore, the double layer fabricated with FTO thin films deposited for 1 min exhibited superb sheet resistance (${\sim}14.9{\Omega}/{\Box}$), high optical transmittance (~88.6 %), the best FOM (${\sim}19.9{\times}10^{-3}{\Omega}^{-1}$), and excellent thermal stability at an annealing temperature of $300^{\circ}C$ owing to the good morphology maintenance of the Ag NWs covered by FTO thin films.

3-Roll coating process as a key application technology for manufacturing automotive pre-painted metal-sheets has been studied. The 3-Roll coating system for this study consists of pick-up roll for picking up and distributing coating liquid from the reservoir, metering roll to properly meter coating liquid in metering gap regime, and applicator roll for directly transferring liquid into metal-sheet surface. Flow dynamics and operable coating windows of a polymeric paint (primer) with shear-thinning rheological property have been correlated with processing parameters such as speed ratio and metering gap between pick-up and metering rolls. In the uniform coating regime, dry coating thickness increased with increasing metering gap or decreasing speed ratio. Ribbing and cascade instabilities were observed in low speed and high speed ratio conditions, respectively. It is revealed that lower speed ratio makes severity and wavelength of the ribbing increase, aggravating flow instability in coating systems.
