For the Association between 3D VAR Model and 2D Features

  • Although we look at objects as 2D images through our eyes, we can reconstruct the shape and/or depth of objects. In order to realize this ability using computers, it is required that the method which can estimate the 3D features of object from 2D images. As feature which represents 3D shapes effectively, three dimensional vector autoregressive model is pro- posed. If this feature is associated other feature of 2D shape, then above aim might be achieved. On the other hand, as feature which represents 2D shapes, quasi moment features is proposed. As the first step of association of these features, we constructed real time simulator that computes both of two features concurrently from object data (3D curves) . This simulator can also rotate object and estimate the rotation The method using 3D VAR model estimates the rotation correctly, but the estimation by quasi moment features includes much errors. This reason would be that projected images are constructed by the points only, and doesn't have enough sizes to estimate the correct 3D rotation parameters.

  • In this paper , we propose an incremental approach for recognizing a class of machining features from a featurebased design model as a part design proceeds, utilizing various information such as nominal geometry, design intents, and design feature characteristics. The proposed apptroach can handle complex intersecting features and protrusion features designed on oblique faces. The class of recognized volumetric machining features can be expressed as Material Removal Shape Element Volumes (MRSEVs), a PDES/STEP-based library of machining features.

직령의 부위별 형태 특성과 상호간의 관련성 연구 (A Study on Features of Parts of Jikryug and Relations Am]O the Features)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine features of parts of Jikryung and relations among the features. Results of the study can be described as follows. 1. The short front and long rear of Jikryung was changed into the long front and long rear of the dress in the late 16th century. Kalgit of quasi-square style as double collar was changed into that of common collar in the late 16th century and then into common semi-circle collar in the early 17th century, when double Sup was also changed Into single Sup. Narrow sleeves of Jikryung were replaced by bean chaff-shaped in the late 16th century and then by wide ones in the early period of the next century. The shape of the side hem of Jikryung was changed from rectangle into trapezoid in the early 17th century Triangle-shaped Moo was changed into trapezoid-shaped one in the late 16th century and then again into triangle in the late 17th century 2. Changes in shapes of the parts of Jikryung were made with them correlated. The collar of Jikryung saw change in its form from double to common as its width was reduced. Double Sup was changed into single one and the narrow, short coat string into the long one as Jikryung became a dress needing less adjustment. The sleeves widened as the length of whajang increased. The side hem of Jikryung saw change in its shape from rectangular to trapezoidal one as its position was changed. Trapezoidal Moo was replaced by triangular one as the sleeve of Jikryung was changed in shape. 3. Changes in shapes of the parts of Jikryung influenced the aesthetic beauty of the dress itself In its first period, Jikryung was simple with long, slim silhouettes. In its second period, the dress was rich with increased volume. Finally in its third period, the dress was characterized by the harmony of simpleness and richness.

실존적 개념의 장소성의 표현 특성에 관한 연구 - 보타와 무어의 초기 주택을 중심으로 - (A Study on Expressional features of the Existential Placeness - Focused on the early housing of M. Botta and C. Moore -)

  • This study examines placeness of the living space on the basis of Schulz's existential space and inquires into the expressional features of placeness by analyzing cases. Results of this study have shown that placeness of living space is formed by three factors as follows. First, the living space with placesness maintains inner order which structuralizes surroundings. Second, it expresses its identity through innate shape that reflects surroundings. Third, inner space has innate identity and it is much related to characteristics personality of a resident, environmental and psychological factors. It is as follows that concrete features of existential placeness shown in analyzing cases of Botta and Moore's works. There are concrete expressional features of placeness in the housing of Botta, and one is to keep order of inner space the horizontal and vertical axis reflected surroundings. Another is to show existence feeling as the shape of a stable singular mass with surroundings and regional properties. The third is to value innate features of each space inside housing and particularly to acquire placeness as combining phenomenological characteristic of light. There are concrete expressional features of placeness in the housing of Moore, and first, strong centrality formed in the inside is emphasized as extending to outside environment. Second, existence feeling is acquired as familiar form using the shape and material considered surroundings. Third, the personality of a resident is positively reflected in the design. Besides, placeness is acquired by goods and furniture as positively considering environmental and psychological sides.

A SHAPE FEATURE EXTRACTION FOR COMPLEX TOPOGRAPHICAL IMAGES

  • Topographical images, in case of aerial or satellite images, are usually similar in colors and textures, and complex in shapes. Thus we have to use shape features of images for efficiently retrieving a query image from topographical image databases. In this paper, we propose a shape feature extraction method which is suitable for topographical images. This method, which improves the existing projection in the Cartesian coordinates, performs the projection operation in the polar coordinates. This method extracts three attributes, namely the number of region pixels, the boundary pixel length of the region from the centroid, the number of alternations between region and background, along each angular direction of the polar coordinates. It extracts the features of complex shape objects which may have holes and disconnected regions. An advantage of our method is that it is invariant to rotation/scale/translation of images. Finally we show the advantages of our method through experiments by comparing it with CSS which is one of the most successful methods in the area of shape feature extraction

  • 얼굴영상에서 나타나는 정서특징을 분석하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 Active Shape Model (ASM)과 Lucas-Kanade (LK) optical flow 기법을 기반으로 하는 특징검출 및 분석방법을 제안한다. Facial Action Coding System에 근거하여 묘사된 정서적 특징을 고려하여, 특징이 분포하는 영역에 위치한 다수의 landmark로 shape 모델을 구성하고 모델에서 각 Landmark를 중심으로 하는 움직임 벡터 윈도우 내부의 픽셀에 대한 LK 기법을 통해 optical flow 벡터를 추출한다. 추출된 움직임 벡터의 방향성 조합에 근거하여 얼굴정서특징을 shape 모델로 표현할 수 있으며, 베이지안 분류기라는 확률 기반 추론기법을 기반으로 정서적 상태에 대한 추정할 수 있다. 또한, 정서특징분석과정의 연산 효율성과 정확성 향상을 도모하기 위하여 common spatial pattern (CSP) 분석기법을 적용하여 정서상태 별로 상관성이 높은 특징만으로 구성된 최적정서특징을 추출한다.

  • CBIR(Content-based Image Retrieval) 시스템의 질의 처리에 사용되는 모양 특징은 크게 경계 기반과 영역 기반 등 두 가지로 나눌 수 있다. 경계기반 특징은 간단하지만 영역 기반 특징에 비해 효과적이지 않다. 영역 기반 모양 특징을 사용하는 대부분의 시스템은 먼저 영역을 추출해야 한다. 하지만 기존의 영역 기반 시스템들은 구현이 복잡하고, 특히 정확한 영역 추출이 어려우며 영역 간의 위치적인 관계가 거리 모델(distance model)에 반영되어 있지 않다. 본 논문에서는 Canny 에지 검출과 Hough 변환에 기반하여 목표 내부의 에지를 검출하고, 이와 함께 영역확장을 이용하여 목표 물체 내부의 영역을 정확히 추출할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 또한 영역 간의 인접 관계를 이용한 수정된 IRM(Integrated Region Matching) 기법을 제안하였다. 이는 모양 특징을 이용한 유사성 검색에서 영상 간의 거리 모델로서 사용된다. 그리고 실험을 통해 수정된 IRM 기법과 우리의 영역 추출 기법이 효과적임을 보였다. 실험 결과는 새로운 영역 추출 방법이 기존의 다른 방법보다 훨씬 우수함을 보여준다.

목통(木通).천목통(川木通).관목통(關木通)의 감별기준(鑑別基準) (Criteria for Identifying Akebiae, Clematidis, Aristolochiae Caulis)

  • Objectives : Due to morphological similarity, many substitutes and counterfeits have been used as Moktong for thousands of years. This study was designed to determine discriminative criteria for identifying medicinal herbs used as Moktong. Methods : Akebia quinata, A. trifoliata, Clematis armandii, and Aristolochia manshuriensis were collected in various regions. Samples were authenticated and examined by observation and microscopy with paraffin embedding and triple staining using the modified Ju staining method. Results : Three different types of features to establish discriminative criteria for four kinds of Moktong were identified. Botanical features include differences in phyllotaxy, leaf shape, and caulescent. External morphological features were arrangement and size of fine holes(xylem), and overall shape of the section. Internal morphological features include the number of medullary rays, shape of the pitch, type of tissues rounding pitch, appearance of annual rings, shape and amount of crystals(calcium-oxalate), and the appearance of cork cambium. Further details(e.g. identification keys) are in the article. Conclusions : These criteria could provide an effective method for identifying numerous kinds of Moktong distributed in markets throughout northeast Asian nations.

LCD 패널 상의 불량 검출을 위한 스펙트럴 그래프 이론에 기반한 특성 추출 방법 (Feature extraction method using graph Laplacian for LCD panel defect classification)

  • For exact classification of the defect, good feature selection and classifier is necessary. In this paper, various features such as brightness features, shape features and statistical features are stated and Bayes classifier using Gaussian mixture model is used as classifier. Also feature extraction method based on spectral graph theory is presented. Experimental result shows that feature extraction method using graph Laplacian result in better performance than the result using PCA.

단백질 접촉 영역의 기하학적 특성 가시화 (Visualization of Geometric Features in the Contact Region of Proteins)

  • 본 논문에서는 단백질 복합체에서 단백질 사이의 접촉 영역이 갖는 기하학적 특징을 가시화하는 방법을 제안한다. 단백질 또는 리간드가 요철이 있는 곡면으로 표현될 때, 두 곡면이 서로 접하면서 교차하지 않는 성질을 형태 상보성이라 한다. 단백질-단백질 또는 단백질-리간드 도킹 연구에서 형태 상보성과 화학적인 성질, 엔트로피 등이 접촉 영역의 발견에 중요한 역할을 한다는 것을 볼 수 있다. 일반적으로 형태 상보성이 높은 영역을 발견한 뒤, 이 영역에 속한 아미노산들의 잔기 극성 및 소수성 등을 이용하여 접촉 영역을 예측한다. 접촉 영역을 예측하기 위한 연구에서는 기존에 알려진 복합체에서 접촉 영역이 갖는 기하학적인 특징을 조사하는 작업이 필요하며, 이를 위해 기하학적인 특징을 가시화하는 작업은 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 단백질 복합체에서 접촉 영역을 발견하고, 두 개의 단백질 각각의 접촉 면에 속한 근거리의 정점들의 기하학적인 특징을 법선 벡터 및 평균 곡률로써 가시화하는 방법을 제안한다.
