  • Many electronic applications require magnetic materials with high permeability and frequency properties. We improve the magnetic permeability of soft magnetic powder by controlling the shape magnetic anisotropy of the powders and through the preparation of amorphous nanoparticles. For this purpose, the effect of the shape magnetic anisotropy of amorphous Fe-B-P nanoparticles is observed through a magnetic field and the frequency characteristics and permeability of these amorphous nanoparticles are observed. These characteristics are investigated by analyzing the composition of particles, crystal structure, microstructure, magnetic properties, and permeability of particles. The composition, crystal structure, and microstructure of the particles are analyzed using inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry-, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and focused ion beam analysis. The saturation magnetization and permeability are measured using a vibrating sample magnetometer and an LCR meter, respectively. It is confirmed that the shape magnetic anisotropy of the particles influences the permeability. Finally, the permeability and frequency characteristics of the amorphous Fe-B-P nanoparticles are improved.

  • This paper presents a new structure for the universal motor using soft magnetic composite (SMC). The stator for this new type of motor is made by combination of the SMC pole and the silicon steel yoke. The shape of the 3D SMC pole is designed to minimize ohmic loss and amount of stator coil. To design the pole shape, the 3D analysis in the design procedure is replaced with an equivalent 2D analysis. Finally, the optimal shape is analyzed by 3D FEM and the performance is discussed.

  • The property of magnetic field and properties of EMW(Electro Magnetic Wave) absorption with multi-shaped EMW absorber was simulated. As a magnetic field having high density was showed at bottom of EMW absorber, simulation showed that overall EMW was absorbed at the bottom of multi-shaped absorber. The absorption properties of EMW according to thickness of absorber showed that it enhanced about 50-60 percent. Also, EMW absorption properties was checked with surface area of EMW absorber. A cylinder-shaped EMW absorber exhibited good property among multi-shaped EMW absorber based on these result.

  • Numerical simulations are carried out for the liquid encapsulant Czochralski(LEC) by imposing a magnetic field. The use of a magnetic field to the crystal growth is to suppress melt convection and to improve the homogeneity of the crystal. In the present numerical investigation, we focus on the range of 0-0.3Tesla strength for the axial and cusped magnetic field and the effect of the magnetic field on the melt-crystal interface, flow field and temperature distribution which are the major factors to determine the quality of the single crystal are of particular interest. For both axial and cusped magnetic field, increase of the magnetic field strength causes a more convex interface to the crystal. In general, the flow is weakened by the application of magnetic field so that the shape of the melt-crystal interface and the transport phenomena are affected by the change of the flow and temperature field.

  • In this paper, we introduce an efficient three-dimensional magnetic field mapping system for a Deflection Yoke (DY) in Cathode-Ray Tube (CRT). A three-axis Hall probe mounted in a small cylindrical bar and three stepping motors placed in a nonmagnetic frame are utilized for the mapping. Prior to the mapping starts, the inner contour of DY is measured by a laser sensor to make a look-up table for inner shape of DY. Three-axis magnetic fields are then digitized by a three-dimensional Hall probe. The results of the mapping can be transformed to various output formats such as multipole harmonics of magnetic fields. Field shape in one, two and three-dimensional spaces can also be displayed. In this paper, we present the features of this mapping device and show some analysis results.

  • The characteristic of magnetostrictive is to change shape in a magnetic field, TERFENOL-D is said to produce magnetostriction. A magneto strictive actuator need to the magnetic circuit. The most important design consideration is the magnetic circuit. The magnetic circuit consists of the solenoid coil, permanets for bias and shaping of the other parts through which the magnetic field passes. A good magnetic circuit ensures the proper magnetic field in th TERFENOL-D and very uniform magnetic field in all phases of the actuator operating cycle. This paper presents magnetic circuit design and analysis uesing FEM.

  • Magnetic fluid is ferromagnetic material in liquid state, so the surface configuration of magnetic fluid affects the magnetic field, and vice versa. To analyze the devices with magnetic fluid, the magnetic field equations and hydrodynamic equation should be solved simultaneously. This paper presents the numerical algorithm to obtain the surface configuration of fluid under the influence of gravity, pressure and magnetic field without conventional sim¬plified assumption. The algorithm consists of nonlinear finite element method and ferro-hydrodynamics, such as Poisson equations and Bernoulli equations, respectively The simulated configurations of fluid are compared with experimental results, and the influence of the amount of fluid and pole piece shape on the seal capacities are analyzed.

  • In this paper, measurement and analysis of ELF electric and magnetic fields in the vicinity of 22.9[kV] distribution line have been performed. The height of measuring point from the earth's surface was 1[m], and the distance between the device and the operator was more than 3[m]. The experiments have been carried out by lateral profile, and we have made use of FIELDS program for the sake of comparision the experimental data with the theoretical value. Electric and magnetic fields intensity were strong under a distribution line, and were inversely proportional to lateral distance. The profiles of electric field were M shape and those of magnetic field were $\cap$ shape. Electric and magnetic fields intensity were increased with increasing the measurement height.

  • This paper presents the study on the magnetic field analysis of magnetid deflection yoke using integral equation method. An integral equation method is developed for the computer modeling of the magnetic fields produced by color CRT and T.V. deflection yoke. Deflection of electron beams using magnetic fields is applied in a variety of display instruments such as te.evision receivers, electron probe instruments, etc. The magnetic field is solved by dividing these into the finite elements in the whole domain : the saddle coil which deflects the electron heam horizontally, the toroidal coil which deflects it vertically, magnetic core which enhances the magnetid fields genterated by the both coils. Using oblate spheroidal coordinates, this paper has had an easier access to the shape of magnetic deflection yoke chasing the boundaries than other coordinates.
